Chapter 320 A Girl Shouldn't See Too Much Filth
Ruth saw Rachel and got so flustered she almost ran back to the cabin.
Daniel's drink was not meddled with. Seeing Ruth rush back, he frowned and asked, "What's up?"
Ruth, panicked, grabbed Daniel's hand and said, "Daniel, you have to help me."
Daniel looked around. Everyone else seemed excited. Not seeing Amelia and noticing Ruth's odd behavior, his face changed. He stood up, grabbed Ruth, and demanded, "What did you do?"
Ruth bit her lip and glanced at the crowd, who were starting to react. She had drugged most of the fruit wines, timing it for when everyone was having fun.
Daniel saw Ruth looking at the crowd. Not seeing Amelia or Todd, some unpleasant thoughts crossed his mind. He grabbed Ruth by the collar and snapped, "Where's Amelia? Where did you take her?"
Ruth saw Daniel only cared about Amelia. Her panic turned to anger. She shouted, "Amelia? Is she all you care about?" She had a miscarriage, and Daniel didn't even notice.
She thought bitterly, Amelia, Amelia. Always Amelia! She should just die in the sea.
Seeing Ruth's changing expression, Daniel's eyes turned cold, and he pushed her away.
Charles stood next to Rachel, sensing her strong anger.
Tonight, Frederick had been watching another yacht. Charles asked and found out Frederick's beloved, Rachel's sister, was on that yacht.
When he saw Frederick take off his jacket, walk anxiously toward the deck, and Rachel follow him out, he realized something was wrong.
Charles had his assistant, Ian Phillips, block the guests and followed Rachel to the deck, where Frederick had already jumped into the sea.
Rachel wanted to jump in too, but Charles pulled her back. He said, "Ms. Davis, don't be impulsive. Mr. Hastings will save your sister."
After pulling Rachel back, he quietly instructed the staff to contact the other yacht's captain. The staff complied immediately.
Amelia felt she couldn't hold on any longer. She tried to calm herself, but she couldn't swim. Her consciousness was fading, and she was too exhausted to struggle.
Frederick saw Amelia stop struggling and swam faster, grabbing her.
Meanwhile, Charles threw a life ring over.
The other guests wanted to come out but were blocked by Ian.
Seeing Frederick bringing Amelia over, Rachel quickly helped pull her up.
The medical staff on board started emergency measures. After some chest compressions, Amelia spat out seawater, and both Rachel and Frederick sighed in relief.
Amelia opened her eyes, crying from relief.
Frederick hugged her and softly said, "It's okay, I'm here."
Amelia nestled in his arms, too sore to speak, feeling completely drained.
Charles suggested, "Let's get Ms. Davis to a room to change." The staff quickly made arrangements.
Frederick picked Amelia up.
Despite her sore throat, Amelia whispered to Frederick, "Over there..."
Frederick looked at Rachel, who nodded and said coldly, "I'll handle it."
Frederick carried Amelia into the cabin, heading for a room.
The others in the living room didn't know what had happened but didn't dare be too curious.
Charles had the captain contact the other yacht's captain, and the two yachts got closer.
Rachel looked at Charles as she was about to board the other yacht. She said politely, "Sorry for the trouble. Mr. Wright, you entertain the guests; I'll handle this."
Charles smiled, adjusted his glasses, and said, "Even if you're going to kill someone, you'll need help burying the corpse."
Rachel's eyes flickered with a strange feeling.
As the yachts got closer, Charles jumped over and extended his hand to Rachel.
Rachel didn't hesitate and jumped over. Charles caught her, holding her waist. Once she was steady, he let go.
Rachel thanked him calmly, "Thank you, Mr. Wright." Without waiting for his response, she walked into the cabin.
The other yacht's captain had just received a radio call about someone falling overboard and was nervously looking for Todd.
Todd didn't like Jesse and the others, so after the party started, he clinked glasses with Nicole, said "Happy Birthday," and went back to his room.
The captain told him what happened, and he rushed to the cabin, seeing Nicole drunk and in a bad state. Todd was furious. He kicked Jesse away, pulled Nicole up, and had the captain separate everyone, then poured cold water on them to sober them up.
Rachel was about to enter the cabin when Charles stopped her. "I'll go in first."
Rachel looked at him, puzzled.
Charles said calmly, "A girl shouldn't see too much filth; it will taint your beautiful eyes."
Rachel's cold, calm eyes flickered slightly, and she let Charles go in first. Since taking over the Davis Group, she had been dealing with other businessmen.
At first, everyone underestimated her because she was a woman, but after seeing her methods, they all kept their distance.
As Sebastian said, her personality was too strong, so no one ever treated her as a woman. Over the years, no matter what problems she faced, she never had anyone to rely on, nor did anyone stand up to protect her.
She didn't understand Charles's intentions in approaching her. For some reason, Charles always gave her a sense of unease. Besides, he was Layla's stepson, which made her even more wary.
