Chapter 107 Amelia Joins General Hospital

Mary watched Frederick's departing figure and a dazed expression appeared on her face.

She had been used to calling Amelia Mrs. Hastings for so many years, and it would surely take her some time to get used to the change.

After Frederick left, she sighed softly and continued cooking.

Angela Francisco, the nutritionist who was helping on the side, had only come to the Hastings Manor after Brittany's leg was damaged. She had never seen Amelia before, so she couldn't help but be curious.

"Mary, is that Amelia from the Davis family really Mr. Hastings' wife?"

Mary sighed and her face showed a touch of helplessness and disappointment. "She used to be."

As Frederick said, he and Amelia had already divorced, and from Frederick's appearance, it didn't seem like he had any plans to remarry Amelia, so it was uncertain whether Amelia would still be Mrs. Hastings in the future.

After leaving the kitchen, Frederick left Hastings Manor.

As he passed the yard, Brittany glanced at him and said in a low voice, "Are you sure you don't want to stay home for dinner?"

Frederick nodded. "Yes, tonight's networking dinner is important, so I might come back late. You don't have to wait for me."

Upon hearing this, Brittany frowned. "Even if Amelia comes over, you won't stay home?"

Frederick's cold expression didn't change.

Brittany tried to see some hesitation in his eyes, but there was none. His reaction to Amelia's name was as if he had heard the name of a stranger.

"Grandma, tonight's networking dinner is important. No matter who comes, I can't stay home for dinner. I have to go now. It's not good to be late."

Brittany's face immediately darkened. She watched Frederick leave, a hint of displeasure in her eyes. Tom also felt the atmosphere turning heavy.

Fortunately, Amelia and Anna arrived at Hastings Manor soon after. Even though Brittany was somewhat unhappy because of Frederick's departure, when she saw Amelia and Anna arriving, a smile returned to her face.

Amelia hadn't been to Hastings Manor for three years. There were new servants at Hastings Manor, some of whom Amelia didn't recognize.

Brittany sat in a wheelchair, holding Anna, and they entered the house together.

When Mary saw Amelia, she was excited and immediately walked up to her. "Mrs. Hastings, it's been so long."

Amelia nodded gently.

Then Mary noticed the child in Brittany's arms. This child bore a strong resemblance to Amelia.

When Amelia went abroad, besides Tom and Brittany, no one at Hastings Manor knew she was pregnant. So Mary was surprised to see Anna.

"This is…"

Amelia smiled and said, "This is my daughter."

Brittany kept her promise and did not mention anything about Amelia's pregnancy. Amelia felt grateful.

Mary hesitated for a moment and carefully studied the child's appearance before asking, "How old is the child?"

Amelia replied softly, "She is two years old."

Upon hearing this, Mary looked up at Amelia in surprise, "This..."

Brittany glanced at Mary and interrupted her, "Is dinner ready?"

Mary nodded and immediately ordered the kitchen staff to start serving.

Inside the dining room, Tom took Anna from Brittany's arms and placed her in a new children's chair that had just been purchased.

Anna was delighted with the new chair. Amelia looked at Anna's smiling face and slightly smirked.

During the meal, Brittany was careful in taking care of Anna, using a serving spoon to give her food.

After serving a dish, Brittany looked at Amelia and asked, "Now that you have completed your studies, you will definitely be returning to work at a hospital. Have you decided which hospital you will join?"

Nicole had been working at General Hospital and was promoted to director. Ralap was currently serving as vice dean. The hospital director, Anderson Clark, was nearing retirement due to his age, and many matters were being handled by Ralap.

"Of course, I will return to General Hospital," Amelia replied with a smile, knowing that Brittany was concerned she might choose a different hospital.

She wanted to stay in a familiar environment. Moreover, she had just returned home and Nicole had already sent her an invitation to join the hospital.

She and Nicole had been good friends for many years, and Nicole kept in touch with her during her studies abroad.

Upon hearing that Amelia would be joining General Hospital, Brittany's expression showed relief and she nodded approvingly.

"I am glad you chose General Hospital. With you there, I can feel at ease," Brittany said.

General Hospital had developed well in recent years. It had become one of the most powerful medical institutions in Kasfee, with experts in various fields.

Amelia looked at Brittany with a smile and said softly, "General Hospital is now the best hospital in Kasfee, so naturally I would choose General Hospital."

At General Hospital, she could learn a lot. The familiar environment and people would make her not have to worry about interpersonal relationships while working.

After dinner, Amelia and Anna sat on the couch with Brittany, chatting. Anna was a little tired, sitting on the couch and yawning.

Brittany looked at her with deep concern and whispered to Amelia, "Amelia, stay here tonight. I have had the bedroom prepared."

Amelia pursed her lips and ultimately refused. "Anna needs a bed. She just returned to the country and is not yet accustomed to the environment, so..."

Hearing Amelia's response, Brittany's face showed a hint of regret, but she did not insist. "It's alright, the child comes first."

Amelia held Anna in her arms tightly, and Anna leaned her head on Amelia's shoulder.

"Grandma, it's getting late. Anna and I should be heading back," Anna said.

Brittany nodded, although reluctant, she could only see them off. After Anna got in the car, she saw Brittany sitting in the wheelchair, still watching them at the door.

Though she was very tired, Anna raised her hand and waved at Brittany. "Great-grandmother, bye-bye."

Her voice was small, filled with exhaustion. Brittany watched Anna's demeanor and felt deeply moved.

After the car from Davis Manor left, Brittany sat in the wheelchair and wiped her tears quietly. Tom noticed and comforted her softly.

"Mrs. Hastings, don't be sad. Regardless of anything, you can always see Ms. Anna and Ms. Amelia at Davis Manor whenever you want."

Brittany gently nodded. "You're right."

As she said that, she remembered Frederick's tough attitude, and anger filled her heart.
