Chapter 88 Frederick is Gentle and Relaxed

Vincent took his medicine and put the chess pieces away in the drawer.

Amelia greeted Vincent and went upstairs.

Vincent was also ready to rest in his call it a day. He saw Frederick walking in from outside the room.

During Rachel's recent absence, Frederick had helped deal with many issues in the Davis Group. This, coupled with Frederick's treatment of Amelia at the time, caused a change of heart in how Vincent viewed him.

"Have you resolved the issues online?" Vincent asked.

Frederick nodded. "Yes, I have resolved them. Although they have issued an apology statement, we will still sue them."

"You're right! We must teach them a lesson." Vincent felt heartbroken as Rachel had been criticized.

While talking with Vincent, Frederick kept an eye upstairs.

Vincent knew why Frederick had come over, so he didn't continue the conversation with Frederick. He glanced upstairs.

"I'm heading to bed," he said. "See yourself out when you go."

Frederick nodded. After watching Vincent return to his room, Frederick headed upstairs, but found that Amelia's bedroom door was already closed. He contemplated knocking, but decided against it and headed back downstairs.

Susan was doing the dishes. She was puzzled when she saw Frederick come downstairs so quickly.

Upon seeing Frederick coldly step away from Davis Manor, Susan stopped what she was doing.

'He couldn't even handle this,' she thought. 'He gave up after only a few days. Could it be that he wants to give up pursuing Ms. Davis?'

Susan snorted and gradually became displeased with Frederick.

Lying on the bed, Amelia listened to the sound of a car leaving outside and bit her lip. Eventually, she got up to check.

Amelia walked up to the window and cautiously lifted the curtains. She saw Frederick driving away from the Davis Manor. As soon as he was out of sight, she put down the curtains and laid back in bed.

She received a message from Frederick.

Frederick: [I'm going back. Good night.]

Looking at the message, Amelia remained stunned for a long time before not replying. She silenced her phone.

The next morning, Amelia woke up. Her phone was flooded with various messages. Many of them were from her colleagues at General Hospital, mostly asking about her situation.

After all, Amelia had worked at General Hospital for three years. Apart from Nicole, no one else knew about Amelia's relationship with Frederick. Last night, the Hastings family made an announcement, so people at General Hospital must have finally found out about it.

Ralap sent several messages to Amelia.

[Ms. Davis, I didn't know about your relationship with Mr. Hastings when I forced you to perform surgery on Amber.]

[I know I was wrong. Please forgive me.]

[I was too focused on my own interests and took advantage of you. I gave Amber the opportunity to put you down.]

[I'm sorry.]

Looking at all these messages, Amelia rubbed her temples and replied with a concise text.

[Mr. Zepho, don't worry about such trivial matters.]

Ralap didn't immediately reply to Amelia's message. Amelia guessed that he was probably busy. It was about the time that the hospital staff would have their morning meeting.

Amelia continued to scroll through her screen and found a message from Nicole.

Other people were shocked, but Nicole remained calm. Nicole simply sent Amelia the video of Frederick kissing Amelia forcefully and a mocking emoji. Upon seeing the message, Amelia smiled and replied to Nicole with a proud emoji.

After seeing the reply, Nicole immediately called Amelia. "Are you back together with Mr. Hastings?"

Amelia got up. "No."

Nicole was surprised and asked, "Did Mr. Hastings force you to kiss him?"

Thinking about Frederick passionately and dominantly kissing her yesterday, Amelia felt her lips get warm. "Yes," Amelia replied softly, holding back her excitement.

Nicole shook her head and said, "I told you before that Mr. Hastings would regret it for sure. He regrets it now."

Amelia clutched her phone. "Maybe he just suddenly found it amusing."

Nicole wanted to say more, but Ralap interrupted her. "Ms. Adams, are you on the phone with Ms. Davis?"

Nicole nodded. Soon, Amelia heard Ralap's voice. "Ms. Davis, I'm sorry. I treated you inappropriately."

Ralap began to apologize. Amelia felt embarrassed. "Mr. Zepho, thank you for taking care of me during my three years at General Hospital. In my eyes, Amber was just an ordinary patient, so you don't have to worry too much about what happened."

Upon hearing Amelia's response, Ralap more relaxed. "Ms. Davis, you are too low-key. If your identity hadn't been exposed, we wouldn't have known that you were born into a noble family."

Ralap thought, 'Amelia was born into the Davis family. She's also Brittany's god-granddaughter. Now, she's also Frederick's ex-wife.'

Amelia smiled, "I'm just an ordinary doctor. Mr. Zepho, please get back to work. Your job is very important."

Ralap agreed. "Okay," he said, before handing the phone back to Nicole.

Because Ralap interrupted her, Nicole forgot about the previous topic. After Ralap walked away, Nicole said softly, "Mr. Zepho has been afraid ever since he found out about your relationship with Mr. Hastings this morning. He's afraid that Amber is unhappy with him."

After all, the person who was supposed to perform the surgery on Amber was Mark. However, Ralap arranged for Amelia to do it instead.

Amelia bit her lip and responded softly, "It's not his fault. It was Frederick who asked me to do the surgery on Amber."

Amelia rubbed her eyebrows. Thinking about her state of mind during that period, she immediately became depressed.

Since Nicole still had work to do, she and Amelia ended their conversation after a brief chat.

After getting ready, Amelia went downstairs.

While sitting on the chair, waiting for breakfast, Amelia checked the unread messages on her phone.

She finally saw the message sent by Amber to her.

Amber sent a message to Amelia at midnight last night. It contained a single photo. In it, Amber and Frederick seemed to be at a bar. Amber was sitting next to Frederick, her head slightly lowered. Frederick was whispering in her ear.

They seemed to be chatting. Based on the photo, Frederick appeared gentle and relaxed.

Amelia stared at the photo for a long time.

"Ms. Davis, breakfast is ready," Susan said from outside the door. Amelia suddenly snapped back to reality.

She took a deep breath and calmed herself. She clicked on Amber's avatar and blocked her.
