Chapter 354 He Didn't Confess Immediately
Nicole sent the video and then nudged Jesse with her elbow. She demanded, "Give me the screenshots of the chat messages from your workgroup."
Jesse listened to Nicole's words, his eyes showing a hint of hesitation, and he said softly, "Better not. If Mr. Hastings finds out, it might affect your job."
After all, General Hospital was still under Frederick's name.
Nicole glanced at Jesse with a stern face, her expression very displeased. "Do all you men like to cover for each other? Frederick has been pursuing Amelia recently! If he were really pursuing Amelia, he wouldn't still be secretly meeting with Amber and even getting into a fight with his good buddy over her."
Nicole glared at Jesse as she spoke, snatching his phone to take the screenshots herself.
Jesse watched as Nicole took screenshots of the chat messages from the workgroup and sent them to herself. He rubbed his temples and smiled as he took Nicole's phone back.
"I'm not trying to cover for Mr. Hastings. I just think it's not right." As he spoke, his gaze fell on Nicole's phone screen. He saw that she was chatting with Amelia, and he felt a hint of coldness in his eyes.
He tightly pulled Nicole into his arms, whispering, "I want to be discharged tomorrow. Will you come with me to my hometown to meet my parents?"
Nicole shook her head. "I have work tomorrow. I've been really busy lately and can't take time off." As she spoke, her eyes didn't fall on Jesse but continued to look at her phone, accusing Frederick of his wrongdoings.
Jesse's eyes were fixed on her phone screen, and he answered softly, "Take your annual leave. My hometown is a tourist spot. I can show you around, and my parents really want to meet you. It's just a simple visit, not about marriage."
Hearing Jesse's words, Nicole's eyes showed a bit of hesitation, somewhat tempted. She hadn't gone on a trip for a long time and, indeed, wanted to relax. So she agreed. "I'll talk to Dr. Zepho after tomorrow."
Hearing this, Jesse pulled Nicole into his arms and kissed her.
At the Davis Manor, Amelia had just finished her call with Frederick and was about to put down her phone when Nicole's message came in.
She opened Nicole's message, which contained a video and several screenshots.
She first opened the video and saw Frederick and Sebastian fighting in a private room at a bar.
The video quality had deteriorated due to forwarding, so Frederick's facial expressions were unclear. Amber was trying to mediate between the two but was unsuccessful.
The video was short, only about ten seconds.
Amelia raised an eyebrow slightly, exited the video, and opened the screenshots Nicole had sent.
The screenshots all mentioned that Frederick and Sebastian were fighting over Amber.
Amelia's expression remained unchanged as she read the messages.
Although she didn't know why the two were fighting, she didn't believe what they said.
After sending the video and screenshots, Nicole sent another message.
Nicole: [Amelia, Frederick is such a jerk. He's pursuing you but got into a fight at the bar over Amber. Isn't he crazy? Don't let him deceive you, and don't forgive him easily.]
Amelia read Nicole's message and could already imagine Nicole's angry face. She quickly typed a reply.
Amelia: [I know. Why are you still up so late? Are you on duty tonight?]
Nicole quickly replied.
Nicole: [I'll be heading back soon. I'm still at the hospital with Jesse.]
After seeing Nicole's message, Amelia didn't reply again.
She tapped on the screenshot and saw that the group chat was named after Scott's bar, with the messages coming from the bar staff.
A chill ran through her as she put her phone aside. Despite her trust in her own judgment, seeing these messages left her unsettled.
The next morning, Amelia woke up with dark circles under her eyes from a restless night.
After freshening up, she carried Anna out of the bedroom.
Rachel also came out of her room and, seeing Amelia's tired look, raised an eyebrow slightly. "Didn't sleep well?"
Amelia nodded lightly, "Yeah, I had some insomnia."
Rachel glanced at her and said softly, "Because of what happened at the bar last night?"
Amelia was taken aback and fell silent.
Rachel stepped closer and gently took Anna from Amelia's arms. Anna, who hadn't been held by Rachel in a while, immediately reached out her tiny arms and snuggled into Rachel's neck.
Holding Anna, Rachel said calmly, "If you're really concerned, you should call him and find out what's going on. Now that he knows about Anna, if he's still being inappropriate, it's unacceptable."
Amelia pursed her lips and said softly, "I'll call him later."
Rachel responded with a simple "Hmm" and went downstairs with Anna.
Vincent had already prepared breakfast. Seeing Rachel and Amelia coming downstairs together, he smiled and invited them to eat.
Rachel took Anna to wash her hands and then sat at the dining table.
Although Rachel had been staying at the Davis Manor, she was often called away by a phone call before she could sit down for a meal.
This time, it was rare for them to have a complete breakfast together.
After breakfast, Rachel was the first to leave the Davis Manor. As she drove out of the gate of the Davis Manor, she saw Frederick's car parked by the roadside.
She drove up to Frederick's car, stepped on the brake, and rolled down the window.
Frederick also rolled down his window and looked at Rachel.
Rachel asked calmly, "What happened between you and Sebastian last night?"
Frederick's expression was normal, and his face showed no signs of injury, indicating that Sebastian had been on the receiving end of the fight. He cocked an eyebrow, "Concerned about Sebastian?"
Rachel's eyes darkened at his words. She shot back, "Don't disgust me. Amelia knows about what happened at the bar last night."
Rachel said this, rolled up the window, and drove away.
Frederick's expression hardened slightly.
Amelia had always been sensitive about Amber's presence. Although the bar incident hadn't spread widely, the video had circulated within certain circles.
Felix was already handling the matter today, but it had still reached Amelia.
Frederick felt a sudden panic, wondering if Amelia had known about it when she called him last night. Not confessing immediately might have made her overthink.
