Chapter 305 Rachel, You're too Aggressive
Oliver glanced nervously at Rachel and mumbled, "Ms. Hill just got here two days ago, so she's not up to speed with the rules. Ms. Davis, I'm really sorry about this. I'll have her apologize right away."
He shot a look at Clara.
Clara stood a bit away, clutching her bag, head down, clearly not wanting to come over.
People bustled around the counter, while Rachel sat on the sofa, the tension thick in the air.
Clara's refusal to apologize left everyone stuck.
Oliver was in a tough spot, not wanting to leave Rachel hanging but also not wanting to upset Clara. Even though the Hill family didn't care much for Clara, she was still a Hill, and Sebastian had recommended her.
He didn't even dare mention Sebastian's recommendation to Rachel.
Oliver said carefully, "Ms. Davis, we've known each other a long time. How about I apologize for Ms. Hill?"
Rachel looked at him and smirked. "First time I've seen a manager with no backbone. Your employee messes up, and you can't even scold her. Instead, you apologize for her. Does she have some big shot backing her?"
Oliver felt Rachel was especially tough today. Sweat beaded on his forehead, and he didn't know how to respond.
Sebastian hurried back to the counter.
He saw Rachel on the sofa, with Clara and Oliver standing silently nearby.
A crowd had gathered to watch.
Sebastian took a deep breath and walked over.
Clara looked at him with a slightly hurt expression.
A bump had formed on her forehead from being hit by a club, looking pretty bad.
He frowned. Earlier on the golf course, he had seen Rachel scolding Clara.
But he hadn't expected things to blow up like this.
Did Rachel actually hit her?
If word got out, it would hurt Rachel's reputation too.
Sebastian took a deep breath and softly told Clara, "Go to the medical room and get that taken care of."
Clara hesitated, glanced at Rachel, then nodded, set Rachel's golf bag aside, and left.
Oliver quietly sighed in relief. With Sebastian here, Rachel wouldn't target him anymore.
Even with Sebastian's arrival, Rachel's expression stayed the same as she sat on the sofa.
Sebastian thought about sitting next to Rachel, but her look made him stop.
Surrounded by their peers, he didn't want to risk Rachel rejecting him publicly.
He sat across from her, pulled out a pack of cigarettes, and lit one. Remembering Rachel's cold look earlier, he felt irritated.
He took a drag and asked, "What happened?"
Rachel's mocking smile was clear.
She sneered, "Mr. Kingsley, you've sent away all the key people. Do you still need to ask what happened?"
Oliver quickly filled Sebastian in on what happened on the golf course. Clara had indeed broken safety rules by standing behind clients.
Sebastian's eyes flickered with a strange look as he glanced at Rachel.
Rachel shot him a contemptuous look, got up, grabbed her golf bag, and tossed it in front of Oliver.
"My clubs are valuable. They got damaged. I don't want them anymore. Contact my secretary for compensation," she said coolly.
Oliver didn't dare breathe. Incidents like this had happened before, but no one had ever demanded compensation from the person who caused the injury. Rachel, however, was a major client, often bringing in other clients.
"Ms. Davis..." Oliver was stuck.
Sebastian, holding a cigarette, said, "I'll buy you a new set."
He called his assistant, took out the bank card Rachel had thrown at him earlier, and handed it to her. "Here's your card. I've added some extra funds to it."
Rachel sneered and took the card. Seeing her accept it, Sebastian felt a bit relieved. Maybe now they could talk calmly.
Rachel played with the card and coldly told Oliver, "Make sure Ms. Hill takes good care of Mr. Kingsley. This deal isn't cheap."
Her words were sharp. Everyone now realized there was something between Sebastian and Clara. Most people in Kasfee knew about the Hill family's issues. Helen had a temper, and Clara was often her punching bag.
Clara was pitiful, but no one expected Sebastian to get into such a mess with Rachel over her. Almost every family in Kasfee wanted to marry Rachel. Sebastian was really foolish, but this gave other families a chance.
Sebastian frowned at Rachel's words. "Rachel, what more do you want me to explain?"
Rachel coldly replied, "Mr. Kingsley, did I ask you for an explanation?"
Sebastian's face changed. Rachel sneered as she walked past him, bent the card slightly, and flicked it into the trash can.
"Mr. Kingsley, don't overestimate your importance to me. I just find it very unlucky to run into you here," she snapped.
Sebastian took a deep breath, feeling a heavy pressure in his chest. "Rachel, the child Clara is taking care of, Clara's parents are both dead. I'm just supporting that child."
Rachel responded indifferently, "There are many orphans. I'll have Tina prepare a list for you tomorrow. If you want to switch to charity work, just don't involve me."
She looked indifferent, her heart cold.
Sebastian had no way to deal with her. In front of everyone, he could only weakly say, "Rachel, you're too strong-willed. As a woman, being this strong, no one dares to marry you, and no one dares to get close to you."
