Chapter 230 Frederick and Amelia Gave Him a Headache

Amelia was slightly taller than Amber. She lowered her eyes slightly and gave a contemptuous smile, saying, "I already know about the bracelet. So, Frederick never designed that bracelet for you from the beginning. You even steal things that don't belong to you. What else have you stolen?"

Amelia's intimidating presence made Amber tremble inside, too afraid to lift her head.

Amelia snorted lightly and stepped forward.

This time, Amber instinctively moved aside.

She bit her lip hard, so hard that her lips turned white.

Just as the elevator doors were about to close, she controlled her emotions and quickly stepped inside.

Amelia walked to the door of Frederick's suite and glanced sideways at the elevator.

The elevator doors had closed, and Amber was gone.

Amelia frowned at the door, hesitating briefly. In the end, she didn't raise her hand to knock and turned to leave.

Just as she turned, the door opened from the inside.

Felix saw Amelia and said joyfully, "Ms. Davis."

Amelia stopped, stunned for a moment, then composed herself with a polite smile. "Is Mr. Hastings still resting?"

Without thinking, Felix shook his head immediately. "No, he is already awake."

Frederick probably didn't sleep at all last night because of Amelia.

Now that Amelia was here, Felix couldn't let her leave.

Otherwise, if Frederick woke up and found out, Felix would surely lose his job. He smiled and said, "Ms. Davis, are you here to discuss something with Mr. Hastings? Please have a seat in the living room for a moment."

Amelia nodded slightly. She came to discuss the import of medical equipment with Frederick.

Felix politely escorted Amelia to the living room of the suite and walked to Frederick's room to knock. "Mr. Hastings, Ms. Davis is here."

Felix's voice was loud, and Amelia looked at him confusedly.

Felix was afraid Frederick wouldn't hear the knock, so he knocked several times and repeated that Ms. Davis was here.

"Mr. Hastings will be up shortly." After knocking, Felix turned to Amelia, smiling politely.

Amelia raised an eyebrow slightly and asked, "Hasn't he gotten up yet?"

Felix's expression froze for a second as he realized his mistake. Then he smiled again and explained, "He might be freshening up for meeting you."

Amelia nodded slowly. The next second, the room door opened.

Frederick's hair was slightly messy, and his usually immaculate black shirt was wrinkled, with one side tucked in and the other out.

Amelia rarely saw Frederick looking so messy.

She hesitated, looking at Felix with a questioning gaze that seemed to ask, 'Is this what you call getting ready?'

Felix averted his eyes guiltily and said with an awkward smile, "Ms. Davis, you probably haven't had breakfast yet. I'll instruct the hotel kitchen to bring breakfast for both of you. Take your time."

After speaking, Felix quickly left the suite, leaving time and space for Amelia and Frederick.

During this time, Frederick tidied his hair slightly and tucked in his shirt.

"Did you see the message I sent you?" Frederick asked in a low and hesitant voice. He tried to suppress his emotions, making himself appear casual.

Amelia nodded and replied, "Yes, I saw it."

As she spoke, she took a sip from the glass of water on the table to conceal her emotions.

Frederick's hand paused, and he looked down at Amelia, who was sitting on the sofa drinking water.

She looked calm and composed, as if this matter was just a trivial issue that couldn't affect her emotions.

A hint of bitterness flashed in his blue eyes, and he felt a pang of pain in his heart.

"I..." Just as Frederick started to speak, Amelia put down her glass and looked up at him, interrupting him, "Mr. Hastings, I came here today to discuss work with you."

Amelia only wanted to talk business, meaning she didn't want any emotional entanglement with him.

Frederick's expression hardened, and his eyes instantly turned cold. He walked over and sat on the sofa opposite Amelia, saying, "Go ahead."

Amelia looked at him seriously and explained Maria's situation, hoping he would agree to import the medical equipment.

A trace of mockery flashed in Frederick's cold gaze as he commented, "You're requesting the purchase of such expensive imported equipment for just one patient. I don't think anyone would agree with that. How do you plan to convince me, Ms. Davis?"

Amelia took a deep breath, a hint of bitterness in her eyes, and resorted to a business argument. "We can also apply for subsidies for this equipment. If Maria's illness is cured at General Hospital, the hospital's status in the medical field will significantly improve. At that time, the commercial value General Hospital brings to Hastings Group will be considerable."

Frederick leaned back on the sofa, giving her a sidelong glance, questioning, "What if the patient isn't cured at General Hospital? As a doctor, your words should be more cautious."

Amelia was stumped by Frederick's words and didn't know how to respond.

She wasn't a businessperson and couldn't use persuasive arguments like one to convince Frederick to purchase the medical equipment.

A hint of helplessness flashed in her eyes as she quickly organized her thoughts to respond to Frederick.

Frederick watched Amelia intently, patiently waiting for her next words as she pondered deeply.

Amelia took a deep breath, looked at Frederick, and said seriously, "This medical equipment isn't just for this one case. It has other uses, and..."

Before Amelia could finish, Frederick interrupted her, "Ms. Davis, why don't you talk to me about personal matters?"

Amelia lowered her eyes slightly, the light in her eyes dimming as she said, "Mr. Hastings, if you don't want to discuss business with me, then I'll head to the hospital."

Amelia stood up from the sofa and walked towards the door.

As she reached the door and placed her hand on the doorknob, a deep voice came from behind her.

"If one day you wish to delve into personal matters with me, then I'll also engage in business talk with you," Frederick said.

Amelia pressed her lips together and directly opened the suite door, walking out.

Felix had been waiting outside. Seeing Amelia come out with a displeased expression, he immediately understood that their conversation inside hadn't gone well.

Seeing that Amelia was about to leave, he quickly tried to persuade her. "Ms. Davis, the staff member of the hotel will soon bring breakfast. Please have breakfast before you go."

Amelia shook her head and quickened her pace. "No, I have to go to the Tideport City Hospital."

Felix looked silently towards the suite.

Frederick sat on the sofa, showing no intention of getting up to stop Amelia.

Felix sighed inwardly.

Frederick and Amelia really gave him a headache.
