Chapter 268 The Person She Relies On Is Frederick

Sebastian glanced inside the room again as he reached the door of the hospital ward.

Amelia stood in front of Rachel's bed, frowning, and looked at him with a hint of reproach in her eyes.

Sebastian said, "Amelia, please take good care of Rachel. Call me if there's any problem."

Amelia replied expressionlessly, "Call you to come and make things worse?"

Sebastian was momentarily at a loss for words.

Amelia gave him a cold glance, took a few steps, and closed the door to the ward.

Sebastian stood at the door, staring at the closed door with a wave of panic and unease.

He wanted to raise his hand to knock but was afraid of encountering Rachel's cold gaze.

There was no sound outside the door. Amelia took a slight breath and pulled back the curtain.

"Rachel..." Amelia was about to say a few comforting words to Rachel, but Rachel interrupted her as soon as she started.

"I'm fine, no need to comfort me. I'm a bit dizzy and want to sleep. Keep an eye on the IV for me and wake me when it's done," Rachel said.

Seeing her exhaustion, Amelia agreed.

"Okay. You sleep. I'll wake you later."

Rachel softly responded with an "okay" and then fell silent.

Amelia looked at her slightly pale face, feeling a deep sense of heartache.

In her eyes, Rachel had always been strong. No matter the problem, it was never a big deal for her.

Seeing her lying in the hospital bed now, Amelia felt a sense of guilt.

They were both daughters of the Davis Manor. Still, Rachel had been shouldering all the responsibilities of the Davis Manor alone.

Since Vincent fell ill years ago, Rachel rarely showed her true emotions and had stopped smiling.

Amelia couldn't even remember the last time Rachel looked happy.

It was tough for women in the workplace, so Rachel had turned herself into a cold and ruthless businesswoman.

Amelia clearly remembered that years ago, when Rachel broke up with Sebastian, she would hide in her room and cry.

Now, having her heart broken again, how could Rachel not be hurt?

Amelia sat quietly by Rachel's bedside.

After the IV was done, Amelia personally removed the needle. As she did, Rachel woke up.

When Rachel opened her eyes, there was a moment of confusion in her cold gaze before it quickly turned indifferent.

Rachel asked, "How long did I sleep?"

Rachel habitually touched her forehead. As soon as her hand made contact, she felt a sharp pain and quickly withdrew her hand.

Rachel glanced at the back of her hand, then lifted the comforter and got up.

She muttered, "Just the right amount of time."

The smell of disinfectant in the hospital made Rachel uncomfortable, and she wanted to leave.

As soon as Rachel stood up, she felt dizzy.

Amelia quickly helped her back to the bed, blaming, "Don't rush. You need to lie down and be observed for another half hour."

Rachel sighed lightly and obediently lay back on the bed.

There was a knock on the door of the ward.

"Come in," Amelia responded casually.

Helen walked in with a fruit basket, her eyes scrutinizing Rachel lying in the bed.

Helen saw that Rachel only had minor injuries, and a trace of disappointment flashed in Helen's eyes.

Helen had seen photos of the car accident scene, with the front of the car smashed and the body severely damaged. She thought Rachel would be seriously injured.

The social circle in Kasfee wasn't too big or too small.

The Hill family and the Davis Manor had very similar situations. Over the years, Helen had often been compared to Rachel.

Three years ago, when the Davis Manor was in trouble, Rachel used some tactics to revive the Davis Group and even successfully transformed it.

Helen had lived in Rachel's shadow, with Hill Group's shareholders frequently mentioning Rachel.

In her heart, Helen saw Rachel as a rival. She tried to replicate Rachel's path but found she couldn't.

Rachel looked at Helen with a cold gaze.

Rachel asked indifferently, "Ms. Hill, you actually came?"

Helen sighed lightly, pretending to be humble.

"It's all because of Clara. I heard she went to Mr. Kingsley and tried to stir things up between you and him. I'm here today to clarify that our Hill family has severed ties with Clara. Her actions have nothing to do with us," Helen added.

Rachel sneered, "Afraid I'll retaliate against you? Against the Hill family?"

Helen smiled without speaking and handed the fruit basket to Amelia.

Amelia didn't take it but looked away. She didn't have a good impression of Helen.

Helen glanced at Amelia, then placed the fruit basket on a cabinet to the side.

After setting down the fruit basket, Helen spoke seriously, "I just don't want you to misunderstand the Hill family's stance."

Rachel chuckled coldly. "Don't worry, Ms. Hill. There's no misunderstanding between us. I know you've always wanted to use Clara to get close to Sebastian, and that hasn't changed."

Helen forced a smile. "Ms. Davis, you misunderstand. I truly thought you and Sebastian had broken up back then, so I made those arrangements. I didn't expect Mr. Kingsley's resolve..."

She didn't finish her sentence.

Rachel glanced at her indifferently. "Ms. Hill, do you think that just because Sebastian and I broke up, he would choose Clara?"

Helen remained silent.

Rachel laughed softly, speaking calmly, "Ms. Hill, you need to understand that any man I give up on, you and Clara won't be able to get either."

Helen gritted her teeth at Rachel's mocking smile.

Seeing that Rachel had found an outlet for her emotions, Amelia stepped in front of Helen, blocking her view of Rachel.

Amelia interrupted, "Rachel needs to rest and isn't available for visitors. Please leave."

Helen frowned, looking at Amelia with a hint of displeasure.

Helen suddenly said, "Amelia, long time no see. You've become much more confident than before. I remember you as a crybaby."

Amelia frowned, clearly disliking Helen bringing up the past.

Rachel adjusted herself to a comfortable position on the bed and glanced at Helen.

Rachel threatened, "Nowadays, Hill Group can't even withstand a blow from Davis Group. Are you sure you can handle a hit from Hastings Group?"

Helen turned pale at these words.

Rachel's meaning was clear that Amelia had Frederick backing her.

If Helen dared to mess with Amelia, Frederick would be the first to go after Hill Group.

Helen gritted her teeth, comparing Amelia's relationship with Frederick to Clara's failure to win over Sebastian, feeling frustrated.

Helen left the ward with a sullen face.

After Helen left, Rachel took out her phone and sent a message to Tina.

Rachel: [Keep an eye on Hill Group's movements during this period.]

Tina: [Got it.]

Rachel was determined to take over Hill Group's business!

She wanted to see if Helen would still dare to show up in front of her six months later.

Can't Win Her Back
