Chapter 210 He Suddenly Approached

Since Thunder Fang was around, Anna quickly accepted the fact that Amelia had to go on a business trip.

In the past, when Amelia mentioned her business trips, Anna would bid her farewell for a long time.

Now, all her attention was on Thunder Fang, and she played until it was late before going to bed.

The next morning, when Amelia woke up, Anna was still sound asleep.

A faint smile tugged at the corner of Amelia's lips as she looked at her peaceful sleeping face. A hint of Frederick's shadow would only appear in her unusually quiet moments.

She reached out and ruffled Anna's hair before getting up to freshen up.

As Amelia finished getting ready and was about to leave with her luggage, Anna was awakened by the noise.

She sat up almost immediately, rubbing her eyes and looking at Amelia. "Mama..."

Amelia walked over and hugged her comfortingly as she saw Anna struggling to open her eyes fully. "I'm going on a business trip. Thunder Fang will keep you company while I'm not at home, okay? When I come back, I'll get you a gift."

When Anna heard the words "Thunder Fang," her eyes lit up, and she answered, "I will be good."

Amelia, touched by Anna's words, leaned down and kissed her on the cheek. "I know you are the best. I love you ."

Anna also planted a kiss on Amelia's cheek, saying, "I love you, too."

After Amelia helped Anna freshen up, Amelia held her with one hand and her luggage with the other as they walked to the door.

As she opened the bedroom door, they saw Thunder Fang sitting upright, looking at them with a wagging tail.

When Amelia opened the door, Thunder Fang promptly sat down on the floor, ready to obey any command at any time.

Anna struggled to get out of Amelia's arms.

Amelia immediately bent down to let her down.

Susan, who had just finished cleaning the study, came out and saw Anna hugging Thunder Fang. She smiled and remarked, "That dog is so understanding. When I opened the living room door in the morning, it rushed out of its doghouse, ran upstairs, and sat here waiting for you."

Amelia reached out and rubbed Thunder Fang's head, commenting, "It's a rescue dog, it’s been professionally trained. It's as smart as a 6 or 7 year old child."

Susan looked slightly surprised. "No wonder it's so smart. Mr. Hastings really put some thought into bringing Thunder Fang back. He must have put a lot of effort into giving Anna gifts."

Frederick had always put a lot of thought into giving gifts to Anna.

Amelia pursed her lips lightly and replied, "Probably."

With that, she headed downstairs.

Anna followed, holding Thunder Fang's leash. Perhaps it was Anna's shaky steps down the stairs that had Thunder Fang shielding her all the way. It waited for her at every step.

Vincent was talking in the living room downstairs.

Amelia initially thought it one of Vincent's friends was visiting, but when she entered the living room, she saw Frederick sitting across from him.

Frederick was dressed in a black suit. His long legs were naturally crossed, and he exuded a calm and composed demeanor.

As Amelia's gaze met his, their eyes locked in the air.

Amelia was the first to look away.

Vincent noticed Amelia coming down and stood up from the sofa, saying, "Let's have breakfast together, Frederick."

Frederick nodded slightly and agreed. "Sure. Thank you, Vincent."

Vincent smiled and said, "No need to be so formal."

As Vincent spoke, he led Frederick toward the dining room.

As Frederick passed Amelia, he glanced at her luggage and inquired, "Are you going on a trip?"

Amelia nodded. "Yes."

Frederick remained composed after receiving her response. When he saw Anna coming down from upstairs, he reached out, lifted her, and walked to the sink to wash her hands.

Amelia pursed her lips as she observed his skilled movements, feeling that her earlier response might have been too cold.

So she added, "I'm going to Tideport City."

As she spoke, she walked over to wash Anna's hands with soap.

Frederick lowered his gaze to watch her.

After drying Anna's hands, Amelia looked up, and her gaze met Frederick's deep eyes.

"I'm also going to Tideport City," Frederick said softly, then carried Anna into the dining room.

"Okay," Amelia replied and took her seat.

Anna chattered away with Frederick at the dining table, capturing his full attention.

Amelia had intended to ask Frederick when he was going to Tideport City, but when she saw how happy Frederick and Anna were as they chatted, she refrained from asking him any questions.

She had agreed to meet Kimberly at 9 o'clock at the airport, and any delay might make her late.

Moreover, this was her first time collaborating with Kimberly, so Amelia didn't want to give her a bad impression by making her wait.

She would rather arrive early and wait for Kimberly than keep her waiting.

So, Amelia ate just a little and then stood up to speak to Vincent. "Dad, I'm leaving now. I might be late."

Vincent set down his breakfast and said, "Let me help you with your luggage."

Amelia immediately waved her hand. "No need, you stay with Anna. My luggage is light. I can handle it myself."

Vincent saw Frederick put down his utensils and wipe his hands with a napkin. Understanding the situation, he picked up his utensils again. "I won't bother you then."

Amelia smiled softly. "I'm not a child. You don't need to worry about me."

Anna opened her arms toward Amelia when she heard that she was leaving. "Mama, hug."

Amelia walked over and picked her up. "Anna, will you promise me to be good?" she asked.

Anna nodded obediently, resting her head on Amelia's shoulder. "Mama, come back soon."

Amelia nodded.

This time, Anna didn't bid farewell to Amelia for too long before letting her go.

Amelia felt a pang of guilt when she saw how good Anna was being.

She and Anna had never been apart for too long.

She felt reluctant to go to Tideport City.

Suppressing the urge to cry, she left the dining room.

She changed into her shoes at the entrance, and as she was about to walk out with her luggage, Frederick caught up from behind.

"What did you want to tell me just now?" he asked, taking the luggage from Amelia's hands.

They had to walk a few steps from the Davis Manor to the garage.

Amelia was momentarily stunned by his question. She had noticed earlier in the dining room that all of Frederick's attention had been on Anna.

After taking a few steps, Frederick stopped when he didn't receive a response from Amelia,.

Amelia was lost in thought, and when he stopped, she accidentally bumped into his back.

His back was as sturdy and firm as ever.

She immediately winced in pain, covering her nose, thinking that if her nose were prosthetic, it would probably be crooked by now.

Frederick heard her sharp breath and turned around. He lifted her chin to see her red nose tip and furrowed his brows.

He leaned in, causing her heart to suddenly race wildly.

Can't Win Her Back
