Chapter 94 Can We Not Go Abroad?

Amelia felt much better after the two people in the backseat had left the car.

She continued driving and didn't forget to ask Frederick, "Where do you live?"

When Frederick heard this, he felt a little angry. He had been living in the Pearl Building all this time. Amelia could have easily found out where he lived with a little inquiry.

She didn't know where he lived, which could only mean that she had never paid attention to him. He sighed and felt a bit disheartened.

"Let's go back to Davis Manor first."

Amelia turned to look at Frederick. "I'll take you back first, and then I'll drive back to Davis Manor."

Frederick glanced at her, his eyes deep, and found a comfortable position to lean against.

"Your driving skills are terrible. Do you think I will trust you to drive back alone?"

Amelia fell silent. She was just not used to driving Frederick's car, and she was unfamiliar with the road conditions, which made her a bit nervous.

Since obtaining her driver's license and owning her own car, Amelia had never been in a car accident. She withdrew her gaze and continued driving ahead.

Frederick quietly watched her for a few seconds, his tone low.

"Can you not go to further your studies?"

His voice was soft, causing Amelia to be momentarily bewildered.

Suddenly, a stray cat darted out of the bushes on the side of the road.

Amelia regained her senses and abruptly swerved the steering wheel. The side of the cabin immediately collided with the roadside railings, causing sparks to fly.

Frederick widened his eyes and immediately helped Amelia regain control of the steering wheel. Calmly, he reminded her, "Release the accelerator and press the brake on the left."

He was worried that Amelia would mistake the accelerator for the brake in her panic.

After the car came to a stop, Amelia was still very shaken. She tightly gripped the steering wheel, her palms sweating.

Frederick reached out and embraced her, comforting her in a soft voice. He held her in his arms and comforted her softly, "It's okay. It's just a minor accident."

Amelia took a deep breath to steady her emotions.

If a woman becomes excessively nervous during the early stages of pregnancy, it can lead to fetal development problems.

Frederick held her tightly, touching the back of her hand. "I'm here, so don't be afraid."

His voice was gentle, and the faint smell of mint on him entered her nose, making her feel more at ease.

In the sudden turn of events earlier, Amelia instinctively didn't want to run over the little cat. Now that Amelia had calmed down, she also forgot whether she had run over it or not.

"Can you get out to check if it's been run over?"

She moved away from Frederick's embrace.

Frederick opened the car door, got out, and checked. There were no animal carcasses behind the car.

The little cat was probably scared, so it had disappeared a long time ago.

Frederick returned to the side of the car.

The driver's side door had been completely deformed and couldn't be opened.

Frederick reached into the passenger seat and unbuckled Amelia's seatbelt, taking her hand to help her out of the passenger seat.

When Amelia got out of the car, Frederick held her waist gently. Her waist was still slender, but it had become softer than before.

"Have you gained weight recently?" he asked in a low voice.

Amelia was a bit angry and looked at him disapprovingly, pushing him away. "I haven't!"

Susan had been preparing nutritious meals for Amelia and she hadn't been working. She stayed at home every day, so it was only natural that she had gained a little weight.

Seeing her obstinate look, Frederick chuckled softly. Amelia looked at his smile and froze.

Previously, Frederick had always been serious in front of Amelia, and she rarely saw him smile like this.

She looked at him in surprise and slowly said, "Mr. Hastings, do you have a lingering attachment to your ex-girlfriend?"

Frederick restrained his smile. "A lingering attachment to my ex-girlfriend?"

Amelia nodded, looking at him quietly, and calmly said, "People always fail to appreciate emotions toward things that have already been completed, but they have deep impressions and find it hard to forget interrupted and unresolved emotions."

Frederick and Amber broke up before their relationship got serious, so Frederick found it difficult to ease his pain.

Now, Amelia and her marriage with him were interrupted, yet Frederick seemed unwilling to let go of her.

Listening to Amelia's words, Frederick's gaze turned dark.

Amelia took her eyes off him and found the phone number of Carl, the driver for the Davis family, and dialed it.

After hanging up the call, Amelia noticed Frederick's gloomy expression and realized that he was lost in thought, so she didn't disturb him. She called Felix to come and pick up Frederick.

After sending them the address, Amelia walked over to check the damage to the car.

The front left headlight was already smashed, and the left door was also damaged.

The repair cost for a car of this level was undoubtedly expensive.

Watching Amelia for a long time, Frederick deeply knew that his feelings toward her were definitely not just due to his regrets over the past. As he was about to speak, a white rideshare car stopped beside him.

Amber hastily got out of the car, her eyes filled with panic and worry.

"Frederick, Ms. Davis, what happened to you? Did you get into a car accident?"

Wendy also got out of the car with Amber. When she saw Frederick's heavily damaged car, a hint of schadenfreude appeared in her eyes. Just as Wendy was about to speak, she noticed Frederick standing aside with a dark expression. Since Wendy had already suffered the consequences of running her mouth, she became smarter this time and stopped ridiculing Amelia.

Wendy just obediently stood next to Amber.

Seeing Wendy also stepping out of the car, Amber knew that Frederick was already displeased with Wendy's earlier actions, so she softly said to Wendy, "Wendy, you should head back first."

Seeing Amber's urgent gaze, Wendy nodded understandingly.

"Okay, I'll leave now. You can accompany Mr. Hastings back later."

After Wendy finished speaking, she got back into the car.

Frederick glanced at Amber standing in front of him, his expression cold and indifferent.

"You should also leave."

Amber froze.

"Frederick, I'm worried about you." Her voice showed concern.

Frederick's gaze turned cold. "I'm fine, you can go."

Amber bit her lip tightly and looked at Amelia.

"Ms. Davis, are you alright?"

Amelia raised an eyebrow and smiled. "What's wrong? Do you need something from me?"

Amber immediately shook her head. "Of course not."

Wendy noticed that Amber was being treated so coldly by Frederick, while Amelia was not so easy to get along with.

So Wendy rolled down the car window and stuck her head out.

"This road is not good for hailing a taxi, and you definitely can't continue riding in Mr. Hastings' car. How about you all squeeze in with us and leave together?"

Her suggestion and friendly gesture were meant to give Frederick and Amber more time to get along.

Amelia didn't answer.

Frederick's deep eyes were filled with indifference. "The Davis family has a driver."

Wendy was speechless.

Amber looked up at him and whispered, "And what about you?"

Amelia smiled and replied, "Mr. Hastings has Felix."

Amber was stunned. As she looked at Amelia's gentle and stunning face, as well as Frederick's arrogant expression, Amber suddenly realized that Amelia and Frederick belonged to a different world.

Their family background and status were so perfectly matched, while no matter how Amber disguised herself, she could never feel at ease standing by Frederick's side.

A sense of inferiority surged from within Amber, and she cried.

"Frederick," she said softly.

She only received a cold response from Frederick.

"Go home."
