Chapter 205 He Didn't Want Amelia and Jesse to Get Too Close
Frederick had brought a professional search and rescue team and search dogs with him.
Anna suddenly felt a coolness on her arm at the top of the Fantasy Fortress. She opened her eyes and saw a pair of big round eyes. A dog was sniffing her arm with its big nose. The sleepy little girl was immediately scared and started crying.
"Here, over here!" a rescuer shouted.
Amelia heard the rescuer and immediately walked over.
Her steps were a bit unsteady, so Frederick supported her all the way.
The search dog scared Anna, so it sat obediently on the side, sticking out its tongue, its big round eyes looking at Anna.
Anna had been sleeping in a space that could only accommodate one child, and it was very hidden. They had walked around here, but they hadn’t been able to find it.
You could only enter the space through a small crack, which could only accommodate one child. If they didn't get close, they couldn't see that small crack at all.
After Anna had climbed into the space, she suddenly felt sleepy. She had a habit of taking naps, and not many children came by this space, so no one had woken her up.
If it weren't for the search dog, they might have had to wait for Anna to wake up and come out on her own.
Amelia reached out and hugged Anna, relieved to find her sleeping inside, and quickly apologized to the rescuers. "Sorry for the trouble."
The rescuers smiled politely. "We're glad we found the child. It’s all thanks to the search dog, Thunder Fang. We probably wouldn't have found Anna so quickly without it."
Thunder Fang heard the trainer praising it. It barked twice and wagged its tail, looking very happy.
Anna hugged Amelia's neck and turned her head to look at the well-behaved Thunder Fang sitting on the ground.
Thunder Fang wagged its tail and looked at Anna with starry eyes.
After getting permission from the trainer, Amelia reached out and touched its head, saying, "Thank you."
Thunder Fang wagged its tail even more happily.
Anna, who was still a bit startled from being woken up, hesitantly reached out her hand toward Thunder Fang. She gently stroked its head, making it stretch its neck, afraid her hand was too short to reach it.
After this misunderstanding, Amelia apologized profusely and sent the rescuers away. After everyone left, the indoor castle park quieted down.
Amelia felt guilty when she thought about how the staff had actively dispersed the visitors to help find Anna and compensated the visitors.
Amelia said, "How much did the amusement park lose today? I’ll make up for it. I'm really sorry we affected your business."
The indoor amusement park belonged to the Hastings Group. Even the mall was under the Hastings Group.
Frederick didn't ask Amelia for compensation, and his subordinates didn't dare to speak up.
Even if Amelia was willing to pay, they wouldn't dare accept it.
Frederick had been eyeing Amelia so obviously that they couldn't possibly accept the money.
"We did what we had to, Ms. Davis. Because of this incident, we also discovered some problems in the amusement park, and we will make improvements in the future. We should apologize for scaring you and Miss Anna." The person in charge of the amusement park stood respectfully in front of Amelia.
Anna realized how much trouble she had caused Amelia by falling asleep in the amusement park.
She leaned her head on Amelia's shoulder, looking slightly guilty, her big round eyes fixed on Amelia. "I'm sorry, Mommy." She had just been too tired at the time.
Amelia couldn't bear to blame Anna, so she gently patted her back and softly said, "Next time you feel sleepy and want to sleep, come find me, okay?"
Anna nodded obediently.
Amelia sighed lightly; this unexpected situation had really frightened her.
"Anna, come over here." Frederick saw that Amelia was still pale, so he reached out to Anna.
As soon as he spoke, Anna immediately opened her arms and threw herself at him.
Frederick naturally lifted her from Amelia's arms. He said, "Let's go, I'll take you back."
After this, Amelia didn't feel like staying here anymore.
When Frederick said he would take them back, she nodded in agreement.
Anna lay on Frederick's shoulder, quiet the whole way without crying or fussing. Occasionally, she would reach out and play with Frederick's tie.
After the three of them left, the Fantasy Fortress resumed operations.
On her way back to the Davis Manor, Amelia noticed that Anna had been silent the whole time. She glanced over and saw that Anna was hugging Frederick's neck, leaning on his shoulder, fast asleep.
Frederick sat upright the entire time as if any movement would wake Anna.
Amelia couldn't help but smile when she saw how serious he looked. He looked more serious than he was in meetings.
"It's hard to wake her up once she's asleep," Amelia said.
Anna had always been a good sleeper.
Amelia reached out to take Anna into her arms, but Frederick adjusted his position, laying Anna flat on his arm, showing no intention of giving the child back to her.
Amelia withdrew her hand when she saw that.
If he wanted to hold her, then let him.
The Davis Manor.
The security guard at the entrance saw Frederick's car and let Carl drive it into the Davis Manor yard.
After Carl parked the car, he immediately got out to open the door.
Frederick was the first to carry Anna out of the car.
After getting out of the car, he stood by the door waiting for Amelia.
Amelia hesitated as she got out of the car and reached out with her hand. "Thank you," she said.
Frederick glanced at the hand she extended but didn't hand the child over to her. Instead, he said, "Let me take you inside."
He walked past Amelia, carrying Anna straight into the house.
As soon as he stepped inside, he saw Daniel sitting in the living room of the Davis Manor talking to Vincent.
Daniel had been staying at a hotel recently. He had come to the Davis Manor to move his belongings today.
Since the incident with Ruth, when Amelia had asked him about renovations, he had understood the hidden meaning in her words.
He felt embarrassed to continue staying at the Davis Manor.
He had already bought furniture and other things for his house. He had also seen Amelia taking Todd to Jesse's bar to show off, so he had come over to ask about the situation.
He didn't want Amelia and Jesse to get too close.
