Chapter 89 He Stared at Amelia’s Photo for a Long Time, Feeling Somewhat Confused
After blocking Amber, Amelia went downstairs.
Susan placed breakfast on the table. Seeing Amelia sitting on the chair, Susan poured a glass of milk and handed it to her.
Amelia took the milk and asked, "Did you change the password?"
Susan nodded. "Yes, Mr. Davis personally changed it."
Reassured, Amelia picked up the milk and took a sip.
Vincent was exercising outside in the yard. After a while, he came in holding a box of fruit and handed it to Susan.
Susan opened the box. The vibrant colors of the fruits immediately caught her attention.
"Are these Ruby Roman grapes?"
Because Amelia liked grapes, Susan had been looking up different grape varieties online. Vincent had no knowledge about these things, so he didn't know.
"I don't know. Frederick had Felix deliver it just now. Frederick said it was air-shipped to Kasfee from abroad, so he immediately sent it to Amelia."
Susan nervously glanced at Amelia in the dining room and whispered, "Ms. Davis and Mr. Hastings seem to be arguing."
Vincent glanced at Amelia, who was sitting in the dining room eating breakfast, and sighed. Although Amelia was gentle, she was more stubborn than her sister. Once Amelia made up her mind, it was not easily changed.
"Okay. Don't tell her," he said.
Susan nodded and went to the kitchen to wash the fruit. She also searched the price of the grapes online.
After seeing the price, Susan was surprised. She became more cautious while cleaning the grapes.
After breakfast, Amelia walked into the living room and sat down. She picked up a medical textbook to read casually.
Susan placed the grapes beside her. "Ms. Davis, have some fruit."
Glancing at the grapes on the plate, Amelia nodded and took one grape and put it into her mouth. "The grapes delivered today taste much better than before. What kind of grapes are these? Tell them to get this kind from now on," Amelia asked.
Standing aside, Susan smiled but remained silent. Vincent, who was sitting nearby, played with his chess pieces and nodded in agreement.
Amelia continued to read her book while occasionally eating a grape. Vincent picked up his phone, took a photo of Amelia, and sent it to Frederick. Vincent also sent a message.
[She says the grapes are delicious.]
After leaving Davis Manor last night, Frederick had been working in his study all night. When he saw the photo Vincent sent, he immediately zoomed in and stared at it for a long time.
Sitting on the couch, Amelia held a book with one hand and placed a grape near her lips with the other. She wasn't wearing makeup, but her lips were pink. From this angle, Amelia looked like a college student who had just started her freshman year.
Staring at the picture for a while, Frederick felt a little confused. When he married Amelia, he knew she was beautiful. But now it seemed like Amelia was becoming more and more beautiful.
Frederick saved the picture. Then he replied to Vincent.
Frederick: [Since she likes this type of grape, I will have Felix deliver it to her every day.]
Vincent: [Okay.]
After clearing the table, Susan came out and found that Amelia had finished all the grapes on the plate. When she saw Susan coming out, Amelia asked, "Susan, are there any more grapes?"
Amelia liked to eat grapes, and these grapes were delicious. After finishing a plate of grapes, she still wanted more.
Susan nodded. "There are still some more grapes here. I will wash them."
Amelia nodded and lowered her head to continue reading her book. Judging from Amelia's calm reaction, Susan guessed that Amelia probably didn't know that these grapes were expensive.
Amelia had just finished eating grapes worth $20,000.
Over the next few days, Susan received fruit from Felix every day. Susan went from being shocked to becoming calm.
Susan placed the grapes beside Amelia and sighed. "Ms. Davis, your baby will have big and round eyes when she's born."
Upon hearing Susan's words, Amelia smiled and said, "I hope so."
Amelia knew that this saying had no scientific basis but she still hoped that her child would have beautiful big eyes in the future.
Amelia's phone rang. She picked it up and glanced at it. It was an unfamiliar number. After hesitating, Amelia answered the call.
"Hello, this is Amelia Davis."
"Hello, Ms. Davis. I'm Jimmy Collins."
Jimmy sounded a bit guilty, so his voice was low. Since Amelia hadn't heard his voice or name before, she subconsciously thought Jimmy was a relative of a previous patient.
"Sorry. I forgot which patient's relative you are. Are you asking me about a patient?"
Jimmy remained silent for a while. Jimmy didn't expect that after the court case filed by Hastings Group because of the rumors about Amelia spreading on the internet, Amelia didn't know who he was.
"I'm the reporter who previously exposed the video of you and Mr. Hastings."
Amelia raised an eyebrow. She had heard Rachel mention that this reporter was Amber's friend. She didn't say anything, so Jimmy took a deep breath and spoke cautiously.
"Ms. Davis, the main reason I'm calling you today is to apologize. I misunderstood your relationship with Mr. Hastings, so..."
Amelia interrupted Jimmy's words. "If you have any questions, please contact my lawyer, Barry."
Amelia hung up the phone and set it aside. She looked unhappy.
Susan noticed that Amelia seemed upset and asked, "What happened, Ms. Davis?"
Amelia paused. She realized that her mood wasn't great and slightly regained control of her emotions.
"I'm fine."
Amelia picked up her phone again and looked at Susan. "I'll make an appointment to go to the hospital for a check-up tomorrow. If I'm healthy, we can start preparing to go to Fondaniss."
Upon hearing Amelia's words, Susan paused but didn't object. She nodded. "Okay."
Amelia remained calm and called Nicole. Seeing that it was Amelia, Nicole picked it up immediately.
"What's up? Do you want to go shopping with me?" Amelia had been resting at home recently because she was pregnant, so Nicole thought Amelia might be bored and wanted to go out shopping.
"No. I want to go to the hospital tomorrow for a check-up. If everything is okay, I want to leave the country as soon as possible."
Nicole fell silent for a few seconds. She thought Amelia no longer wanted to leave the country. After all, Frederick and Amelia seemed to be falling in love again.
"Why have you suddenly started thinking about leaving the country?" she asked.
Amelia sighed but didn't know how to explain. "Can you arrange the check-up for me?"
Nicole didn't ask any more questions. "Okay. But your identity has been exposed, so if you come to the hospital during the day, it might attract attention. Come tomorrow night. I'll be on duty then."
Amelia frowned. After hesitating, she agreed.
"Okay, I'll go to the hospital tomorrow night."
Frederick had been keeping an eye on Amelia during this time, so she didn't want Frederick to know about her pregnancy at this critical moment.
