Chapter 314 Until You Tell the Truth
The kiss tasted like strawberry pastries.
Even though Amelia pushed him away, Frederick still felt unsatisfied. He stared at her lips and whispered, "Amelia, I really like you and want to pursue you seriously."
Amelia blushed. Her heart was still racing after pushing him away. Seeing his gaze, she swallowed and said, "Get out of the car."
She realized her voice was hoarse. Frederick's sudden kiss had flustered her. She bit her lip, silently scolding herself.
Instead, Frederick smiled at her hoarse voice. Seeing her slight anger, he worried about pushing too far, so he got out of the car. He reminded her, "Be careful on your way back; don't get distracted."
Amelia glared at him.
Frederick chuckled. Before closing the door, he bent down and looked at her. "Why not stay the night here? The master bedroom hasn't changed."
Amelia frowned, "Close the door, I'm going back."
Frederick looked regretful but gently closed the door, reminding her to be careful again.
Amelia didn't respond. She turned the car around and sped off.
Frederick watched her car disappear, a slight smile on his face.
When Amelia got home, she tossed and turned, unable to sleep. She finally dozed off at dawn.
The next morning, when Anna was up, Frederick had arrived at the Davis Manor. Seeing Amelia hadn't come down, Frederick asked Anna, "Is your mom still sleeping?"
Anna nodded, "Mommy might be tired."
Frederick thought about how Amelia had been driving him around and working. It must be exhausting for her.
Susan checked the time. If Amelia didn't come down soon, she'd be late for work. She said, "I'll go get Ms. Davis."
Frederick said, "I'll go." He ruffled Anna's hair. "I'll check on your mom."
Anna nodded and watched him go upstairs. Suddenly, she ran to him, hugging his leg. "Uncle Frederick, I want to go too."
Frederick picked her up and headed upstairs.
Anna had left the bedroom door slightly open when she left in the morning, so they gently pushed it open.
The room had changed since he was last there, now filled with Anna's things.
Amelia lay in bed, not sleeping soundly, her brows furrowed.
As Frederick approached, Anna kicked her legs, wanting down. He quickly put her down. Anna started rummaging through the room.
Frederick sat by Amelia's bedside. Just as he was about to wake her, Anna knocked over a jewelry box.
The sound of things falling woke Amelia up instantly. She sat up, tense. "Anna," she started.
But then she saw Frederick by her bed and froze.
Frederick glanced at Anna, who had knocked over a jewelry box. He walked over to help pick it up.
Anna opened the box, revealing a bracelet Frederick had given Amelia. Frederick took it out and asked, "What's this?"
Amelia, still groggy, became alert when she saw the bracelet in his hand.
Anna reached out happily, "It's mine." She had found it yesterday but got distracted. Now she wanted Frederick to help her put it on.
Amelia, embarrassed, mumbled, "It's just a bracelet." She lay back down, her toes curling in embarrassment.
Frederick chuckled softly. After putting the bracelet on Anna, he said, "It's so pretty. Why don't you show it to your grandpa?"
Anna smiled and nodded, "Okay, I'll show Grandpa now."
Frederick sent Anna out and signaled Susan to take her. Then he returned to Amelia's room.
Hearing them leave, Amelia sighed in relief. But then she heard someone coming back in.
Frederick not only came in but also closed the door.
Amelia had intended to get up, but hearing the door close, she bit her lip, unsure how to explain the bracelet.
Frederick walked to her bedside. Seeing her back to him, covered with the comforter, he smiled and leaned down to pick her up, comforter and all.
He asked, "Didn't you throw the bracelet away?"
Amelia gave a sheepish smile, "I found it later."
Frederick kissed her on the lips.
Amelia was stunned.
Frederick then asked, "Where did you find it?"
Amelia replied, "I forgot."
Frederick kissed her on the corner of her lips again, this time not getting up.
He whispered, "When did you find it?" His warm breath brushed against her face, leaving her speechless.
Frederick looked at her with a playful smile. "Think carefully before you answer. If you lie, I'll kiss you."
Amelia bit her lip and covered her mouth with her hand, "I found it a long time ago. I forgot."
Frederick grabbed her hand, pinning it above her head, and kissed her.
The kiss was long and had a hint of punishment. After it ended, Frederick whispered, "If you keep lying, the next kiss will be..."
Amelia's chest rose and fell, Frederick's weight pressing down on her. To Frederick, her struggles were weak and futile.
Every time she struggled, Frederick kissed her. Eventually, exhausted, Amelia admitted, "I hid it, okay!" Her voice carried a hint of embarrassed anger.
As soon as she finished speaking, Frederick kissed her again.
Amelia was completely stunned. Why was she still being kissed even after admitting it?
