Chapter 433 That Illegitimate Child Is Her Kid

Last night, Amelia and Frederick got back to Spring Villa but had to wake up early to head back to Davis Manor.

When they got to Davis Manor, Anna had just woken up. Seeing Amelia and Frederick all dressed up, she looked super happy, thinking they had come back together after she fell asleep last night.

Amelia didn't sleep well, so she grabbed some coffee at the hospital to wake up a bit.

Jessica found some potential breakthroughs in Maria's treatment. As soon as Amelia got to the hospital, Jessica rushed over to share the news.

After hearing Jessica out, Amelia thought it sounded promising.

During the team meeting, Jessica presented her ideas and even included some treatment plans that Amelia had added. This time, she didn't hog all the credit and mentioned Amelia's name.

Ulysses had noticed Jessica's growth lately and felt pretty proud. He had been planning for Jessica's future, thinking a nominal title would be good for her anyway. But this trip to Frostpeak Haven really fired her up.

After the team meeting, the professors all agreed on Jessica's new plan.

After rounds, Amelia headed back to her office.

As she got to her office door, she saw Catherine, who had come to the hospital with Madison yesterday, stepping out of the elevator.

Catherine was holding a file folder and smiled lightly when she saw Amelia. "Dr. Davis."

Amelia nodded slightly, glancing at her feet. Today, Catherine had switched to flat shoes but was still in formal attire with a work badge around her neck.

Amelia glanced at the name and position on her badge, a look of surprise flashing in her eyes. Catherine turned out to be Harold's secretary.

Seeing Amelia's gaze on her badge, Catherine smiled slightly, naturally taking off her badge and explaining softly, "I got out of the car in a hurry and forgot to take off my badge."

Amelia just smiled faintly, her expression not changing much.

Not really knowing Amelia, Catherine just nodded and walked toward Dylan's ward. Amelia, sensing something was off, followed her.

Catherine didn't knock but directly pushed open the door to Dylan's ward and walked in.

Cynthia and Dylan were having breakfast. Catherine walked straight to Cynthia, stopped, and said with a smile, "Mrs. Kingsley, Mr. Harold Kingsley asked me to bring you a document to sign." Cynthia hesitated, her expression serious as she studied Catherine. Catherine was still smiling, but this smile had a hint of challenge.

Dylan glanced at the document in Catherine's hand and asked curiously, "What document can't my father sign that needs my mom's signature?" As he spoke, he reached out to take the document from Catherine, but Cynthia was quicker and took it first.

"Your father and I plan to sell the villa in the southern suburbs. The villa is in my name, so it needs my signature," Cynthia explained, her voice tight.

A look of doubt flashed in Dylan's eyes. He frowned and looked up at Catherine. "Is that so?"

Catherine didn't immediately answer Dylan but smiled at Cynthia and urged softly, "Mrs. Kingsley, Mr. Harold Kingsley is waiting for me to bring the agreement back. Please sign it."

Cynthia gritted her teeth secretly, looking at Catherine with displeasure.

Catherine still had a smile on her face.

Amelia stepped into Dylan's ward, saw him still munching on breakfast in bed, and frowned a bit before saying softly, "Dylan, come downstairs with me for a check-up."

Dylan nodded, tossed the comforter aside, and got up.

Cynthia also stood up, cleared the breakfast tray, and helped Dylan up, giving Amelia a grateful look.

Amelia met Cynthia's gaze with a calm and composed demeanor, then walked over to support Dylan downstairs.

As Dylan was leaving, he still felt uneasy and turned to look at Cynthia, stopping in his tracks. "Mom, is there a problem with Dad's company? Why are we suddenly selling the villa in the southern suburbs?" he asked, worried.

Cynthia quickly shook her head, "No problem, you don't need to worry."

At this moment, Catherine chimed in, "Mr. Dylan Kingsley, you should focus on recovering. Don't worry about other matters. The company..."

As Catherine spoke, she glanced at Cynthia and saw a flash of panic in her eyes. She slightly curled her lips and added softly, "It's okay."

Dylan frowned.

Amelia gently tugged Dylan's arm and said softly, "Dylan, let's go for the check-up first. We'll deal with other matters later. Your priority is to get well. Only when you're healthy can you help your parents."

Dylan felt that Amelia's words made sense and nodded lightly, leaving the ward with her.

As Amelia left, she closed the ward door behind her.

With Dylan gone, Catherine's demeanor shifted, her smile turning mocking. "Mrs. Kingsley," she began, her tone cutting, "Mr. Harold Kingsley said this is the last time he's giving you face. If you don't sign, he'll make things difficult for you. Mr. Dylan Kingsley seems quite fragile. I suppose you don't want to lose your son, do you?"

Cynthia took a deep breath, her face looking somewhat unpleasant, as she stared at Catherine and said coldly, "Catherine, don't forget. You got into the company because of my recommendation to Harold. I'm not asking you to repay my kindness, but you shouldn't be arrogant in front of me!"

Catherine smiled disdainfully at Cynthia's words. "People die for money. That's what Harold told me when he took me out to entertain clients. Thanks to you, I now understand its true meaning. I'm very grateful to you for recommending me to Mr. Harold Kingsley; otherwise, I wouldn't be where I am today."

Catherine let out a cold laugh. "I also want to thank you for refusing to help me that night when I called you. It made me realize that only a higher position can earn respect."

Cynthia's face stiffened. As a secretary, accompanying clients for drinks was normal, and she hadn't thought there was anything wrong at the time. She had never expected that her refusal would lead to such a form of revenge.

Seeing Cynthia's panicked expression, Catherine smiled and continued, "Mr. Harold Kingsley has no feelings for you anymore, and Mr. Dylan Kingsley is not going to amount to much. You might as well give your position to me. After all, I can certainly make better use of it."

Cynthia listened to Catherine's words, her expression stiffening slightly, and looked at her in shock. "You?"

Catherine smiled, her voice soft and deadly. "Yes. The illegitimate child you've been looking for is my child."

Cynthia's face turned ashen, realizing her monumental mistake.

When Cynthia found out Harold had an illegitimate child, she had even asked Catherine for help to spy on Harold, never suspecting the truth right under her nose. How could she have been so foolish!
