Chapter 140 Wondering How Madison Has Been Lately
Dylan and Vincent said their goodbyes, and then Dylan left with Amelia.
As they were leaving, Anna stood at the door, looking at them longingly as if she wanted to go with them.
Dylan found this scene incredibly cute.
Even someone like him, who had a different orientation, found Amelia's beauty pleasing to the eye. He couldn't understand how Amelia's ex-husband could bear to divorce her while she was pregnant.
After driving out of the Davis Manor, Dylan couldn't help but say to Amelia, "Your ex-husband must have had a different orientation. You might have been tricked into a sham marriage!"
Other than this possibility, Dylan couldn't think of any other reason why Amelia's ex-husband would leave such a perfect wife.
Amelia raised an eyebrow slightly upon hearing Dylan's words.
"You're the first person to come to that conclusion," she said.
Dylan sighed lightly and said, "The main issue is that many people can't escape societal expectations, so they choose the path that most people take and hurt unwitting girls."
"Ken is also that kind of scumbag," Dylan said, looking at Amelia with a sympathetic expression.
Amelia smiled and said coldly, "They are indeed all scumbags."
They chatted and laughed at the restaurant Dylan had reserved.
Upon arriving, Amelia realized it was the Golden Palate Restaurant.
Frederick owned the Golden Palate Restaurant. For some reason, anything related to him made Amelia uneasy.
She steadied her emotions and entered the restaurant with Dylan.
As they walked in, Dylan lightly placed his hand around Amelia's waist and said softly, "Pardon me."
To Amelia, Dylan felt more like a confidante, so she didn't mind his actions.
The restaurant manager saw Amelia and Dylan walk in together and had a subtle expression on his face. He approached Amelia and greeted her. "Amelia."
Amelia nodded lightly, her expression unchanged.
Dylan looked around but couldn't find the private room his mother had reserved, so he asked the manager at the door, "Where is Moonlit Nook?"
The manager's expression changed slightly, and then asked in confusion, "Are you Dylan?"
Dylan nodded slightly.
Amelia raised an eyebrow, finding the manager's expression quite subtle.
"Dylan, Amelia, please follow me," the manager said, immediately leading them to Moonlit Nook.
At the door of Moonlit Nook, the manager knocked and then invited Amelia and Dylan inside.
Dylan, with a smile on his face, introduced Amelia.
"Dad, Mom, this is my girlfriend, Amelia."
The manager trembled upon hearing Dylan's introduction.
Mr. and Ms. Matthews looked at Amelia, nodded, and gestured for her to sit.
"Amelia, please sit."
Amelia nodded lightly and handed over the prepared gift.
"I heard you both enjoy coffee, so I specially selected some high-quality coffee beans for you."
Mr. Matthews accepted the gift box with both hands, nodded in satisfaction, and said with a smile, "Thank you."
Their first impression of Amelia was very good. From her behavior and manners, it was clear she came from a well-educated family.
Ms. Matthews kept staring at Amelia, finding her somewhat familiar, but couldn't recall where she had seen her before.
Not wanting to be rude, she quickly invited Amelia to sit down.
Dylan thoughtfully pulled out a chair for Amelia, who sat down gracefully.
Ms. Matthews then instructed the manager at the door. "Please serve the dishes."
The manager nodded, glanced at Amelia, and then left.
After leaving Moonlit Nook, he immediately called Felix.
Frederick was also at the Golden Palate Restaurant for a meeting today.
The manager and Felix were classmates, so he knew a bit about Frederick's romantic interests.
Amelia was someone Frederick cared about. How did she become Dylan's girlfriend?
Moreover, Dylan and Frederick were cousins.
Felix was shocked by the manager's news. After ending the call, he leaned over to Frederick and relayed what the manager had said.
Frederick's expression changed suddenly, his grip on the wine glass tightening. But he quickly calmed down and said coldly, "What does that have to do with me?"
Felix was stunned for a moment, then quietly stepped aside.
In Moonlit Nook, Ms. Matthews smiled and asked Amelia, "Amelia, when did you and Dylan meet?"
Amelia smiled calmly and replied, "Three years ago, when I went abroad for further studies, I met Dylan."
"At that time, Dylan helped me a lot. So over time, we became close."
Ms. Matthews nodded and said with a smile, "I heard you're also in the medical field. You must have a lot in common."
"We were eager to meet you, and it might seem abrupt. Dylan has been in Boston for many years, and we haven't been able to take care of him. Now that he's older, as parents, we can't help but worry about his marriage."
"Amelia, I hope you don't mind."
Amelia smiled slightly and said, "Dylan had already told me that we would meet after returning home, so I was prepared. It doesn't feel sudden to me."
Ms. Matthews was very satisfied with Amelia's response.
Given Amelia's beautiful and elegant appearance, it was hard to believe the rumors that Dylan liked men.
Ms. Matthews secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Considering it was their first meeting, she didn't want to pry into Amelia's background too much. From Amelia's demeanor, it was clear her family background wasn't bad.
Ms. Matthews was very pleased with Amelia.
So was Mr. Matthews.
Dylan was delighted with Amelia's performance. He kept giving her food, hoping she would talk more and impress his parents. This way, he could avoid future blind dates.
While they were enjoying themselves, there was a knock on the door.
Before Mr. Matthews could invite the person in, the door was pushed open from the outside.
Frederick walked in, holding a wine glass, with a slight smile on his face.
"Mr. Matthews, I heard from the manager that you were here, so I came to have a drink with you."
Mr. Matthews was delighted to see Frederick and quickly invited him to sit.
Frederick's business had been booming in recent years, and Mr. Matthews hoped to benefit from it.
Frederick, smiling, glanced at Amelia and then sat down on her left side, casually asking, "Wondering how Madison has been lately?"
