Chapter 370 Suddenly Felt Even More Pressure
Frederick exposed Rue, causing her expression to become slightly stiff.
If the Jelena Group had received an invitation, Rue wouldn't have stood here trying to hitch a ride with Frederick to the conference.
Frederick glanced coldly at Rue, his face indifferent. "Ms. Jelena, please move your car," he said coldly.
Rue took a deep breath, looking at Frederick's heartless demeanor, gritting her teeth in anger. She said, "Mr. Hastings, no matter what, we know each other. Let me hitch a ride, and I promise not to appear in front of you and Ms. Davis once we arrive."
Amelia listened to Rue's words and roughly understood what she meant. Rue wanted to go to the conference, but the Jelena Group didn't receive an invitation, so she couldn't go.
With a stern face, Frederick refused Rue. "No."
Rue's expression instantly deflated like a punctured balloon. She threw Frederick a dissatisfied look, then turned her gaze to Amelia, instantly realizing that if Amelia agreed, Frederick might also agree.
Unhappily, Amelia closed Frederick's car door. Just as she thought Rue was about to depart, to her surprise, Rue circled around to her side and opened the rear door on Amelia's side.
Seeing Rue open the door, Frederick's eyes turned cold, and he pulled Amelia into his arms protectively. He snapped. "Rue!" His voice carried a hint of anger, and he stared at Rue warningly.
Rue completely ignored Frederick, directing her attention to Amelia instead. Despite the awkwardness and her stiff smile, Rue was determined to secure her spot at the conference.
"Ms. Davis, do you mind if I sit next to you?" she asked, her voice tinged with urgency.
Frederick's forehead veins bulged as he listened to Rue.
Amelia looked at the determined Rue and sighed inwardly. This conference was a rare opportunity for all the companies.
Once they got into the conference, the representatives from Yaradia would have a chance to recognize their company. If they played their cards right, they could even land a collaboration that might turn the market on its head.
Therefore, Rachel's social engagements have visibly increased recently.
Amelia couldn't help but think of the time when the Davis family was in trouble, wondering if Rachel had also used every means to seize an opportunity like Rue. Women in the business world often had to fight harder to be recognized. Rue's tactics might be low, but they were sometimes necessary.
Seeing Frederick's displeased face, Felix opened the driver's door and got out, intending to pull Rue away.
Rue looked at Amelia with a pleading expression. "Ms. Davis, is it okay?" As she spoke, Felix had already reached her side, reaching out to pull Rue away.
"Ms. Jelena, please..." Felix started, but Amelia interrupted softly. "Come in."
Rue's eyes lit up instantly, and she looked up at Felix, her gaze changing from pitiful to smug. "Mr. Cox, please step aside," she echoed his words back at him.
Frederick's eyes darkened as he looked at Amelia beside him. "Amelia..." Just as he started to speak, Rue slipped into the seat beside Amelia. Rue beamed, turning on the charm.
"I've heard that Ms. Davis is both beautiful and kind-hearted, and it appears to be true," she gushed. "Mr. Hastings is so lucky to be with you."
Amelia lightly pressed her red lips together, smiling slightly without saying much.
Frederick rubbed his temples, glanced at the flattering Rue, and said coldly. "Get to the front seat."
Hearing the anger in Frederick's tone, Rue didn't dare to tease anymore. Reacting swiftly, Amelia stepped out of the car, gently closing the rear door behind her. She then walked to the front passenger seat, opened the door, and quickly settled into her seat, securing her seatbelt.
It was as if she was afraid Frederick would change his mind and not let her in the next second.
After Felix got in the car, he couldn't help but glance at Rue before starting the car and heading to the conference.
They arrived at the conference venue.
As soon as Felix parked the car at the entrance, a receptionist came to open the door.
In the end, Rue got her wish and followed Frederick into the conference. Once inside, Rue kept her promise and didn't bother Amelia and Frederick; instead, she went to find her target companies.
Amelia couldn't help but glance at Rue a few more times. She found Rue to be a fascinating woman. Just moments ago, she was cautious and humble in front of Frederick in their car, but at the conference, she seemed like a different person. She exuded confidence and professionalism.
Even without introductions, she remained calm and composed, engaging in conversations with others.
Seeing Amelia's gaze on Rue, Frederick's hand around her waist tightened slightly. He whispered, "Why are you looking at her?"
Amelia smiled and withdrew her gaze, speaking softly. "I just think Ms. Jelena is quite a match for you. If you married her, she could be a great help to you."
After all, she couldn't handle business matters so effortlessly.
Frederick's expression changed slightly, his hand tightening. He quickly retorted, "Don't overthink. I only want you; I don't like anyone else."
Amelia looked up at him, seeing his serious expression, and changed the subject. "Why haven't I seen Rachel yet?"
"She might still be on the way," Frederick replied calmly.
Last night, Rachel was taken away by Charles, and he wasn't sure about the situation.
Frederick advised, "I'll introduce you to some of the representatives from Yaradia that your sister is interested in."
Amelia nodded lightly, feeling a bit nervous. After all, she was an outsider and was worried about messing up the business.
Sensing her nervousness, Frederick squeezed her waist, "Don't worry, I'm here," he reassured her.
Hearing his words, Amelia felt much more at ease. With Frederick around, she didn't have to worry too much. Frederick was a prominent figure in the Kasfee business circle. With him by her side, there shouldn't be any major issues.
Under Frederick's guidance and with the information he had given her earlier, Amelia managed to engage in conversations with the representatives from Yaradia.
The local companies in Kasfee couldn't help but feel the pressure when they witnessed Frederick parading Amelia around, using her presence to secure business deals for the Davis Group.
The Davis Group already had a strong reputation with Rachel's support, and now, with Frederick backing them, the representatives from Yaradia were naturally inclined to collaborate with the Davis Group.
The already pressured crowd felt even more stressed when they saw Rachel and Charles entering the conference together.
