Chapter 136 Frederick, I Want to Vomit

After Frederick finished drinking, he noticed Amelia's gaze, and his expression froze slightly, feeling inexplicably guilty inside.

He composed himself and put down his glass, and when he looked at Amelia again, she had already looked away.

Silas walked over to Amelia with a glass of wine to toast. Amelia rarely drank but couldn't refuse the hospitality, so she took a small sip. She had no surgeries scheduled for the next day, so it didn't matter much.

However, she didn't expect that after she took a sip, more people would come to toast her, and she couldn't find a reason to refuse. Thus, despite rarely drinking, Amelia ended up having two glasses of wine during the meal.

She wasn't a good drinker, so she felt a bit tipsy. However, she still managed to maintain her composure. Everyone knew when to stop and didn't intend to get Amelia drunk.

As the dinner ended, everyone gradually left.

Silas, who also couldn't hold his liquor, had drunk quite a bit and was helped away by his colleagues.

After seeing off her seniors, Amelia looked around for Tina but couldn't find her. She rubbed her temples and decided to call the driver from the Davis Manor to pick her up, but then she suddenly remembered that her bag was still in Frederick's car.

When the awards ceremony started, Amelia found it inconvenient to carry her bag, so she left it in Frederick's car. Her phone and other belongings were also in the bag.

As the alcohol took effect, Amelia felt her cheeks getting hot. Looking for Frederick, she frowned and saw him talking to city officials. She didn't want to interrupt, so she obediently found a corner to sit in, waiting for Frederick to finish his conversation before approaching him.

Amber had been watching Amelia's movements. Seeing her sit down with her hands on her face, gazing at Frederick, Amber couldn't help but grit her teeth.

Amelia looked stunning and enchanting, which made Amber's heart sink.

Amber walked over and couldn't help but speak, "Amelia. You already have a child. Do you still plan to seduce Frederick?"

Amelia felt her face burning and her head heavy. She maintained her posture, looked up at Amber standing in front of her, and tilted her head slightly.

"Amber."

Her voice was very soft. Seeing her like this, Amber took a deep breath, jealousy flashing in her eyes. She had to admit Amelia was beautiful, so beautiful that it was hard to look away.

"Amber. I already have a child. Why haven't you taken my place yet?"

Hearing this, Amber's expression changed suddenly. She stared at the tipsy Amelia with a heavy gaze.

"My relationship with Frederick is not what you think. Now it's me who doesn't want to reconcile with him, who doesn't want to be with him. From my perspective, it's best to maintain a friendly but distant relationship."

Amelia quietly looked at her without responding.

Amber suppressed her emotions and softened her tone. "Amelia, you're just a victim of a marriage alliance. Frederick's attention to you now is just because he pities you. After all, you were his wife for three years, and you didn't do anything wrong when you divorced. He's just feeling sorry for you."

After saying this, Amber gave a cold smile and walked toward Frederick.

Frederick had finished his conversation with the officials and immediately noticed Amelia in the corner. He walked over with a stern face.

Earlier at the dinner, Frederick noticed Amelia drinking, so he declined all subsequent toasts. After all, if Amelia got drunk, he needed to stay sober to take care of her. So Frederick only had one drink when toasting with the officials and didn't drink anymore after that.

Seeing Frederick approaching, Amber stopped in front of him.

"Amelia seems to have drunk quite a bit and is feeling unwell. Frederick, you should go take care of her."

Frederick's eyes were cold as he walked past Amber and went straight to Amelia. Amelia quietly watched Amber talk to Frederick, then walked over to her and bent down to ask.

"Where are you uncomfortable?"

Amelia looked up at him and said softly, "My heart feels a bit uncomfortable."

Frederick's expression changed dramatically. "I'll take you to the hospital right away."

As he spoke, he reached out to support her waist. As soon as his hand touched her waist, Amelia pushed him away and said in a very cold voice, "I feel uncomfortable because I saw you."

Frederick's outstretched hand froze mid-air, and his heart felt uncomfortable.

Amelia supported herself on the table and stood up, staggering a few steps. She was wearing higher heels than usual today and accidentally twisted her ankle. She winced in pain.

Frederick walked over, put his arm around her waist, and pulled her into his arms.

"I'll take you home!"

Amelia frowned, smelling his faint scent, and shook her head. "Where's Felix? Let him take me."

Felix had just seen off the guests and noticed Amelia and Frederick together. Since they had both been drinking, Felix had to drive. He walked over to ask if they were leaving.

As soon as he approached, Amelia saw him. She immediately pushed Frederick away and walked toward Felix.

"Felix, could you please..."

Before she could finish her sentence, she tripped over something and stumbled toward Felix. Felix quickly caught her. Amelia's entire weight was almost on Felix.

Frederick's expression turned even colder.

Felix's expression changed slightly. He wanted to pull his hand back but was worried Amelia might fall. Frederick might want to chop it off if he didn't pull his hand back. In the end, Felix pushed Amelia back into Frederick's arms.

"I'll go get the car ready," Felix said. Without waiting for Frederick's response, he left quickly. Being pushed by Felix made Amelia feel even more dizzy. Frederick bent down slightly and picked her up in a princess carry.

Despite having a child, Amelia was still very light, no different from three years ago. Being suddenly lifted, she tightly grabbed Frederick's clothes, looking very uncomfortable.

Frederick frowned and slowed his pace. As he bent down to put her in the car, he heard her mumble softly, "Frederick, I want to vomit."
