Chapter 363 Where Are You Going?

After Rachel left, Amelia returned to the dressing room and stood in front of the mirror to make some minor adjustments.

She planned to change out of the clothes, but when she turned around, she saw that Frederick was still in the dressing room, with no intention of leaving. Her hand paused on the zipper, and she glanced at Frederick.

She demanded, "Get out."

Frederick smiled, his voice low and husky. "Don't need my help?"

Amelia shook her head, "No need."

Even though she said she didn't need help, Frederick still stepped forward, bent down, and reached out to help her with the zipper.

"Being your lover but doing nothing for you, I always feel like I'm not a qualified lover," Frederick murmured, his voice a deep, intimate rumble.

The warmth of his breath brushed against Amelia's ear, making it feel especially hot.

Frederick noticed the faint blush creeping up her ears and couldn't help but smile.

Without a hint of hesitation, he pulled down the zipper, then wrapped his arm around Amelia's waist and rested his chin on her shoulder, leaning in slightly.

"Amelia…"

He had just started speaking when Susan's voice came from outside the door.

"Ms. Davis, Mr. Hastings, dinner is served."

Frederick's expression shifted immediately. He slumped against Amelia; his demeanor deflated as though he had lost all his energy.

His face showed a blend of resignation and mild frustration.

Seeing his reaction, Amelia smiled softly and nudged him with her elbow. "If Anna doesn't see us come down soon, she'll come back up to check on us. You go down first."

Frederick let out a grumble and reluctantly released Amelia, turning to leave the dressing room.

Downstairs, Anna was standing on a stool washing her hands. When she saw Frederick coming down, she called out sweetly. "Uncle Frederick. The dessert was so good. Can I have more next time?"

Frederick looked at her bright smile, feeling a bit helpless. It seemed impossible to get Anna to change how she addressed him.

He sighed softly, walked over, and bent down to wash her little fingers.

Anna, not getting a direct answer from Frederick, stared at him with her bright eyes. "Uncle Frederick, can I?" She tilted her head as she spoke, looking very cute.

Frederick gently tapped her nose with his finger, speaking softly. "Of course. It's just a dessert. If you want it, I'll buy it for you. Even if you want the whole shop, I'll get it for you."

Satisfied with Frederick's answer, Anna beamed.

After drying her fingers, Frederick picked her up and headed to the dining room.

Anna rubbed her head against Frederick's shoulder, a bright smile lighting up her face. "I knew Uncle Frederick was the best. Uncle Frederick is the best uncle."

Frederick was pleased by her words, a smile spreading across his face.

Vincent emerged from the kitchen carrying a tray, catching the tail end of Anna's sweet talk. He chuckled warmly. "Anna, you know your dad spoils you, so you've learned how to sweet-talk him."

Anna, perched obediently in her high chair, blushed at her grandfather's teasing. "No, it's not," she mumbled, her voice small and unconvincing.

Amelia, coming down the stairs, heard the laughter of Frederick and Vincent and saw Anna's flushed, distressed face. Amelia walked over and took a seat next to Anna, who immediately started to pout and seek comfort. "Did someone upset you?" Amelia asked softly.

Anna nodded, and after a bit of cuddling, she returned to her high chair.

As Frederick attended to her during the meal, Anna's face still showed a hint of lingering displeasure. Thankfully, Frederick's attentive care soon had her forgetting the grievance.

After dinner, Amelia sat on the sofa with Anna, working on a puzzle.

Amelia had planned to take Frederick home after Anna fell asleep, but Anna had taken a long nap in the afternoon, so she wasn't sleepy at all. She was so energetic that it was almost ten o'clock, and she still didn't want to go to bed.

Vincent and Frederick had been chatting for a while. Seeing that it was getting late, Vincent said to Frederick, "Frederick, you should go home and rest early. You have to attend the conference tomorrow, and you're the main speaker. You need to be in top form."

"I see, Mr. Davis." Frederick nodded, but his eyes were on Amelia. Amelia had said she would take him home tonight. He had been waiting.

Seeing Frederick's expectant look, Amelia felt a twinge of awkwardness. She hadn't anticipated Anna's high energy levels tonight.

Amelia said softly, "Anna, it's getting late. You can't play anymore; you need to go upstairs to sleep."

Anna, not feeling sleepy at all, looked at Frederick when Amelia urged her to go to bed. Her eyes lit up, "I want to play with Uncle Frederick a little longer."

Frederick raised an eyebrow slightly and moved to sit next to Anna. He coaxed, "I'll come back tomorrow and play with you longer, okay?"

Anna pouted, not wanting to agree.

Seeing this, Frederick picked her up and gently patted her back.

Anna struggled, not wanting to sleep.

Frederick continued, "If you go to bed, I'll take you to find pretty gems next time."

Hearing about pretty gems, Anna became interested and quieted down. She asked curiously, "Is the place to find gems far from my home? Grandpa isn't feeling well, so I can't go too far."

Given Vincent's ongoing health issues, Anna had to consider these factors even when she wanted to go out.

Frederick's tone softened as he held her close and said, "It's not far."

Anna nodded, quietly lying in Frederick's arms with her eyes closed.

Seeing this, Amelia couldn't help but smile. Vincent also smiled and quietly said he was going to his room to rest, then got up and left.

Under Frederick's coaxing, Anna's breathing soon became even.

Amelia signaled for Frederick to carry Anna upstairs to her bedroom. Frederick tiptoed upstairs, careful not to wake Anna.

Watching his cautious movements, Amelia couldn't help but smile. She quickly walked ahead of Frederick and opened the bedroom door.

As the door lock clicked, Frederick looked up at Amelia, holding his breath.

Amelia gave an apologetic smile and opened the door.

Anna didn't wake up, and Frederick let out a sigh of relief, stepping into the room and gently placing Anna on the bed.

His movements were exceptionally gentle, and as he laid Anna down, he even held his breath.

Once he withdrew his hand and saw that Anna was still asleep, he finally relaxed.

Tonight, nothing could ruin their plans.

After confirming that Anna was still asleep, Frederick turned his attention to Amelia.

Amelia received his signal, nodded slightly, and walked out of the room.

Frederick quickly followed, unable to hide the joy on his face.

Just as they reached the doorway, Anna's soft, drowsy voice floated out from the room. "Uncle Frederick, Mommy, where are you going?"

Frederick's body tensed instantly.

He had a strong suspicion that Anna might be toying with them!
