Chapter 312 The Chance to Kneel

Frederick stepped out and saw Amelia smiling at him. He paused, happiness lighting up his face.

He brought the grapes over and set them on the table.

Nicole sent another message, and Amelia was replying.

Frederick sat next to her, peeled a grape, and held it to her mouth. Amelia hesitated.

"Your hand's still hurt. If the juice gets on your wound, it might get infected. I can do it myself," she said softly, reaching for the grape.

Frederick's wound had healed well, so he no longer had thick bandages, and his fingers moved freely.

Peeling grapes was easy. He held the grape with his right hand and peeled it with his left, no problem.

When Amelia reached for the grape, Frederick pulled his hand back and said seriously, "Your hands were just on your phone; they're covered in bacteria. I washed mine." He brought the grape back to her lips.

Amelia glanced at him and softly said, "Thanks, but I can do it myself."

Before she could finish, Frederick popped the grape into her mouth.

When she opened her mouth, her lips brushed Frederick's fingertips.

Her lips were warm and moist, while his fingers were cool. She lightly bit where his fingertips had touched, feeling a bit conflicted.

After a few more grapes, she got used to it.

Anna saw Frederick feeding Amelia and leaned over, opening her mouth in front of him.

"I want some too," she said sweetly.

Seeing her cute expression, Frederick fed her a peeled grape.

Anna smiled contentedly, hugged Frederick's leg, and scooted closer.

"Uncle Frederick, why don't you kneel in front of Mommy?" she asked innocently, tilting her head.

Frederick paused, looking puzzled at Amelia.

Amelia was also confused. She put away her phone, bent down close to Anna, and softly asked, "Anna, what do you mean? We don't understand."

Anna couldn't explain, so she just looked at Frederick and said seriously, "Just Uncle Frederick kneeling in front of Mommy."

Amelia was puzzled and didn't understand what Anna meant. She patiently asked, "When did Uncle Frederick kneel in front of me? Why would he?"

Frederick also bent down slightly, seeing Anna anxious to explain but unable to, and gently comforted her. "It's okay, Anna. Take your time."

Anna was silent for a while, then hugged Frederick's leg and shook her head.

She pouted, "Just for marriage."

Amelia paused, her cheeks instantly turning red, and she immediately understood what Anna meant.

Susan came over to call them for dinner after setting the table and saw Anna looking anxious.

She quickly walked over, picked Anna up, and explained with a smile, "Today, when I took her for a walk, we saw a couple proposing at the mall. Everyone was cheering, and she remembered it."

Amelia's expression was awkward. She cleared her throat and glanced at Frederick.

Frederick looked at her eagerly, as if asking when he'd get his chance to kneel.

Amelia looked away, pretending not to notice, and said softly, "Time to eat."

Frederick responded with a muffled "Yeah" and got up to follow Amelia.

Amelia went to the sink to wash her hands. Frederick stood behind her.

Since Frederick had peeled grapes for him and Anna, his hands were probably sticky.

Used to taking care of him, Amelia naturally grabbed his hand and started washing it.

His right hand needed careful washing to avoid the wound.

After washing, Amelia dried Frederick's fingers with a paper towel.

After dinner, Susan took Anna upstairs for a bath.

Amelia glanced at Frederick, picked up the car keys from the table, and walked toward the door. "I'll take you home," she said.

Felix had played with Anna before dinner and then found an excuse to leave, so it was up to her to take Frederick home.

Frederick heard this, said goodbye to Vincent, and followed Amelia out of the Davis Manor.

Amelia got in the car and had just fastened her seatbelt when Frederick, sitting in the passenger seat, spoke in a low, somewhat seductive voice, "Sometimes I think we should..."

As soon as he started, Amelia realized what he wanted to say and immediately covered his mouth. She raised an eyebrow, "Mr. Hastings, haven't you ever chased a woman? It's not that easy."

Frederick's eyes locked on Amelia, worried she might bring up Amber again.

He had pursued Amber, but it hadn't taken much effort except for asking one question. It didn't really count as pursuing.

Other than that, he had no experience in pursuing anyone else.

Seeing his slightly confused expression, Amelia's lips curved slightly, and she said softly, "I haven't even agreed to be your girlfriend yet, so let's not talk about marriage, okay? Mr. Hastings, you should be prepared. I'm hard to chase."

She withdrew her hand after speaking.

Frederick stared at her intently and said seriously, "Hard to chase, but I'll chase."

Amelia paused and asked, "Even if it takes two years, three years, or even longer, you'll still chase?"

Frederick answered firmly, "I will."

Amelia was silent for a few seconds, then continued, "Aren't you afraid that I'll hold a grudge for those three years you ignored me and deliberately not agree?"

Frederick quietly stared at Amelia for a few seconds, his voice particularly low. He mumbled, "I'm afraid. But I'm more afraid of not even having the chance to pursue you."
