Chapter 316 Ms. Davis Isn't Jealous of Me, Is She?

Their route matched Amelia's, and Frederick nodded, "Let's go. We'll see each other at the conference anyway."

Felix quickly messaged Charles's assistant, letting them know Frederick would attend the yacht party.

Amelia got to the hospital on time and went straight to the treatment team meeting.

After the meeting, she dove into work, reviewing patient reports and prescribing treatments.

Even though there wasn't much to do, she felt extra tired, probably from barely sleeping last night.

At lunch, she brought Frederick his meal as usual.

After lunch, Frederick got a call, likely work-related, and took it by the window.

Amelia waited on the sofa for him to finish so she could change his dressing. The sofa was so comfy that she started yawning and soon fell asleep.

When Frederick finished his call, he saw Amelia asleep on the sofa. He gently adjusted her to lie down more comfortably.

Amelia briefly woke up and mumbled, "Wake me up when it's time."

Frederick softly replied, "Okay," and covered her with his coat.

Smelling Frederick's scent, Amelia fell into a deep sleep.

Around 1 PM, Felix came to report. About to knock, he saw Frederick's warning glance and tiptoed in, placing documents on the desk. "Mr. Hastings, this is the contract from Mr. Cole. Please review it."

Frederick nodded, signaling him to leave.

Felix glanced at the sofa, but Frederick's cold voice stopped him. "Don't look around."

Felix quickly left, feeling awkward.

At 2 PM, Frederick went to wake Amelia, but she woke up on her own. Seeing it was already 2 PM, she quickly got up.

Frederick was about to kiss her but saw she was already awake. He pressed her back onto the sofa. Confused, Amelia asked, "What's wrong?"

Frederick leaned down and kissed her. "Amelia, will you go out with me starting today?" he asked, placing a necklace around her neck.

Amelia stared at him, her mind foggy. His serious look and deep blue eyes drew her in.

Blushing, she bit her lip, feeling the warmth of his kiss. Trying to calm her racing heart, she said, "I need to think about it."

Frederick had expected her hesitation but couldn't hide his disappointment. He took a deep breath, his eyes showing a hint of hurt.

Seeing his expression change, Amelia bit her lip. Frederick leaned in and gave her a light kiss. "I'll wait for your answer," he whispered.

The kiss was gentle, like a dragonfly touching water. "Go to work, and be safe," Frederick said softly, letting her go.

Amelia's face turned bright red. She grabbed her handbag and quickly left his office.

Frederick watched her hurry away and chuckled before leaving too.

The receptionist at the CEO's office saw Amelia and smiled. "Goodbye, Ms. Davis."

Amelia calmed herself and smiled back. "Goodbye." As she spoke, the elevator doors opened.

Amelia stepped in and saw Frederick entering too.

She was momentarily stunned, and her blush returned.

Frederick walked over and put his hand on her shoulder. "I'll see you downstairs."

Amelia just nodded, saying nothing more.

Downstairs at the Hastings Group, Rue was arguing with the receptionist. She wanted to see Frederick, but the receptionist said she didn't have an appointment.

The receptionist had checked with Felix, who also said no. "I'm sorry, Ms. Jelena. We can't let you up without an appointment. Our CEO is busy," the receptionist explained.

Rue took a deep breath, looking annoyed. "I don't need to see the CEO. I can talk to Felix."

The elevator doors opened, and Frederick and Amelia walked out together.

Seeing Rue, Amelia glanced at Frederick and removed his hand from her shoulder. "I'll leave you here," she said calmly.

Frederick put his hand back on her shoulder. "I'll walk you to your car."

Amelia frowned. "Shouldn't you deal with that first?"

Rue smiled and walked over as they exited the elevator.

Amelia instinctively tried to distance herself from Frederick, but he held her shoulder tightly.

Rue smiled and greeted Amelia. "Ms. Davis, long time no see."

Amelia nodded. "Long time no see."

She glanced at the time and said to Frederick, "You two talk. I have to get back to the hospital."

Frederick reached out to stop her, but Amelia walked away quickly.

Rue was stunned for a moment, then looked at Frederick. "Ms. Davis isn't jealous of me, is she?"

Frederick gave her a cold look and hurried after Amelia.

Rue watched him go and asked a nearby staff member, "Hasn't Mr. Hastings won over Ms. Davis yet?"

The staff member kept their head down, not daring to comment on Mr. Hastings's personal matters.
