Chapter 95 Amelia Shields Him Away
Annoyance had already appeared on Frederick's handsome face. Even if Amber wanted shamelessly to stay here, she would feel embarrassed.
She gently opened the car door and bent down to get in the car, all the while looking at Frederick with concern.
Seeing Amber's expression, Amelia raised an eyebrow and looked at Frederick.
"You and Ms. Roberts should leave first, okay? She'll worry about you."
"I'll wait here for Felix to come."
Hearing Amelia's words, Amber froze, and she immediately replied, "No, Frederick should stay here with you."
"There are very few people passing by this place. If you encounter any danger, the Davis family might not forgive Frederick."
Amelia smiled upon hearing this, but didn't say anything.
Seeing Amelia's calm and composed demeanor, Wendy felt unhappy, so she immediately instructed the driver to leave.
Because they were delayed for a bit, the driver was a bit impatient, so he started the car to leave.
When Carl received Amelia's call, he thought that Amelia and Frederick had argued and left her by the side of the road, so he hurriedly rushed over.
Frederick had a history of leaving Amelia by the side of the road before.
When Carl arrived, he saw Amelia and Frederick standing by the roadside. The atmosphere between them was genial, so Carl parked the car in front of Amelia.
"Ms. Davis, Mr. Hastings."
After Carl greeted them, he quickly got out of the car and opened the door for them.
They had been in a car accident. Carl carefully scanned Amelia. Seeing that she was fine, he breathed a sigh of relief.
Amelia got into the car. When Frederick approached, she whispered, "Mr. Hastings, Felix is already on his way, so you don't need to come with me."
After hearing this, Frederick saw Felix indeed driving toward them not far away.
His expression turned dark, and for the first time, he felt discontented with Felix's efficiency.
After Amelia got into the car, she closed the door.
Frederick stood still, looking at Amelia sitting in the back seat. "Send me a message when you get home."
Amelia didn't answer and looked at Carl. "Let's go."
Carl nodded and quickly returned to the driver's seat, started the car, and left.
As soon as the Davis family's car left, Felix parked the car in front of Frederick.
"Mr. Hastings, are you okay?"
Seeing Felix getting out of the car in a hurry, Frederick's eyes were filled with indifference.
"Of course."
Felix raised his eyebrows, his eyes showing some confusion. He didn't know why he always felt like Frederick disliked him.
However, Felix hadn't bothered Frederick and Amelia all day today. Frederick got in the back seat and rubbed his temples.
"Take care of it," he said.
Felix nodded. He inspected the damage to the car and made a call to arrange for it to be towed.
This car would most likely not appear in Frederick's garage anymore, so after being repaired, it would only be used as a loan car for customers.
After giving instructions, Felix opened the driver's door and got in the car.
He glanced at Frederick in the back seat and started the engine.
"Mr. Hastings, are you going back to Pearl Building or Spring Villa?"
Spring Villa, which Amelia had sold, had returned to Frederick's hands. All the paperwork had already been completed.
Upon hearing Felix's inquiry, Frederick slowly replied, "Spring Villa."
Felix didn't say anything else and started driving toward Spring Villa.
After returning to Spring Villa, Frederick went upstairs. The rooms were arranged just as they had been when Amelia left.
Frederick had already had Felix move his belongings back. Everything felt as though they were back to the way things were before he and Amelia got divorced, except for the fact that Amelia hadn't returned yet.
Frederick sighed, feeling very sad. He glanced at his phone and saw that Amelia hadn't sent him any messages.
He opened his contacts on the phone for a few seconds, and then he sent a message to Amelia.
Frederick: [Are you home?]
Amelia still hadn't replied to him.
Looking at the unanswered message, Frederick's gaze turned dark. He wanted to retract it out of irritation, but it was already past the retraction time, so he couldn't take back the message.
Disheartened, he tossed the phone aside and went into the bathroom to clean himself up. Once he was done, Frederick walked out of the bathroom, drying his hair.
His phone vibrated.
Frederick eagerly grabbed his phone. When he saw that it was a call from Amber, his gaze turned dark, and he hung up immediately.
After Amelia returned to Davis Manor, she took a shower and went to bed.
She slept well throughout the night. When she woke up, she saw the message Frederick had sent last night and remembered what he said when she got into the car.
Looking at the message, her eyes dimmed, thinking that Frederick might indeed have an ex-girlfriend complex.
When they first got married, Frederick often didn't come back to Spring Villa. At that time, Amelia had just started working at General Hospital, so she would be assigned to do charity work. Every time she left, it would take a week, and during that week, Frederick never called or messaged her once.
During that time, Amelia would secretly check Frederick's Instagram every night. Even though it was filled with boring financial news she didn't understand, she would still like every post he made on Instagram.
Then, one day, Amelia discovered that Frederick had actually blocked her, and she even lost the opportunity to look at his boring financial news.
Thinking of these past events, Amelia felt a sense of sadness in her heart.
She bit her lip and clicked on Frederick's avatar, setting her Instagram status so that he couldn't see it.
At Spring Villa, Frederick was getting ready to go to work at the Hastings Group.
Felix pulled up to the entrance of Spring Villa. Seeing Frederick with his head down, engrossed in his phone, Felix didn't know what could be so captivating on it for him.
Even when getting into the car, Frederick didn't look up.
As far as Felix was concerned, Frederick rarely focused his attention on his phone like this.
Frederick was browsing through Amelia's Instagram. Her Instagram had no privacy settings, so he had seen the statuses she had posted two years ago.
Two years ago, Amelia loved to post on Instagram, so she shared a post every day. In the past year, Amelia's Instagram activity decreased significantly. In fact, she had only posted one thing about a charity event at the hospital.
As Frederick scrolled through Amelia's past Instagram posts, he wanted to know what her life had been like during those two years when he didn't care about her.
However, when Frederick was loading a photo, his network connection froze. When it returned to normal, Amelia's Instagram statuses were no longer visible to him.
Frederick scrolled down several times with his finger, but saw nothing.
He thought it was a problem with his connection, so when he exited and re-entered, he still couldn't see anything.
He frowned and looked up at Felix, who was driving, and said, "Do you have Amelia's Instagram?"
Felix nodded. "Yes."
Frederick said, "I want to see it on your phone."
Respectfully, Felix unlocked his phone and handed it to Frederick. Frederick opened Instagram and found Amelia's avatar, then clicked on it.
Her Instagram content appeared right before his eyes.
His face suddenly turned dark as he realized that Amelia had blocked him.
