Chapter 204 Anna Was Missing
"It's none of your business," Scott said coldly. A chill flashed in his eyes.
Amber had never seen such indifference on Scott's face before.
She sighed inwardly, immediately lowered her head, and fell silent.
As the carousel came to a stop, Amelia led Anna down.
Scott walked over to help, reaching out to support Anna. Amelia's eyes immediately became alert.
"Thank you." Sensing Scott's lack of malice, Amelia thanked him somewhat stiffly.
Anna also obediently thanked him along with Amelia. "Thank you."
Scott looked at Anna's round big eyes and her innocent and adorable appearance. She was a complete replica of Amelia. A more charitable smile appeared on his face.
"You're welcome," Scott said.
"Anna, shall we go play over there?" Amelia bent down to Anna, wanting to minimize the interaction between Anna and Scott.
Anna nodded.
Amelia immediately took Anna's hand and walked in another direction.
After taking a few steps, Anna turned her head and waved to Scott.
Scott also raised his hand unconsciously and waved back. Then he glanced at the staff member not far away.
The staff member immediately approached him. "Mr. Sinclair, what can I do for you?"
Amelia and Anna walked to another piece of children's play equipment, about to line up, when a staff member came forward, politely saying, "Ms. Davis, Mr. Sinclair just instructed me to upgrade you to a VIP customer of the amusement park. You won't need to queue for any of the rides from now on. We'll assign a staff member to accompany you and make arrangements specifically for you."
Amelia frowned slightly when she heard that, looking in Scott's direction.
Scott had a smile on his face and nodded slightly toward her.
Amelia's eyes darkened slightly, then she picked up Anna and softly said, "Please thank Mr. Sinclair for his kindness, but we're a bit tired today and won't be staying."
After saying that, Amelia left with the child.
The staff member stood frozen in place, her expression subtly changing. She did not dare stop Amelia, glancing toward Scott.
Amelia quickly left the amusement park with Anna.
Scott watched her leave. The smile on his face gradually faded.
Amber stood aside, sighing lightly. "Amelia doesn't seem to appreciate you. Mr. Sinclair, why don't you upgrade me to a top VIP? I’m shooting a video in the amusement park today. I can promote your park for you."
Scott looked indifferent. He glanced at Amber and her cameraman and sneered. "If I wanted to be popular, I would find any other blogger instead of you."
After speaking, he walked away.
Amber's face stiffened as she watched Scott leave, feeling a surge of frustration.
Scott had vented his frustration on Amber after Amelia had frustrated him. Of course she was angry about this.
When the camera crew saw the situation, they cautiously asked, "Amber, should we continue filming?"
Amber gritted her teeth. Since Scott had been so blunt about not needing her popularity, she wouldn't get in line to shoot here.
"We're done," she said.
Amber sighed. She had thought that since Scott would visit the amusement park that day, she wanted to do something that would please him.
But all her efforts had been in vain, and Scott had mocked her.
Amber was very angry and left the amusement park.
Amelia took Anna to the Fantasy Fortress, an indoor amusement park they often visited. It was the largest indoor amusement park in Kasfee, and since it was the weekend, there were many visitors.
After Amelia swiped her card, Anna ran into the amusement park on her own.
Amelia’s phone rang, and she answered it, her eyes following Anna.
Soon, Anna ran into the indoor castle.
Amelia checked her phone and saw that it was a call from Nicole.
She answered casually, her eyes always on Anna.
"Amelia, sorry, I was so into the fun last night that I didn't pay much attention to you. Did Mr. Hastings do anything to you after he took you away?" Nicole's tone revealed a strong desire to know what happened next.
Amelia sighed lightly. "I knew you'd be so obsessed with men that you wouldn't care about me. You only cared about the men and didn't even bother to have someone send me back! You had to let me fall into Frederick's hands."
Nicole immediately concluded that something must have happened between Amelia and Frederick.
"In that case, I wouldn't dare let anyone else send you back." Nicole paused for a moment and curiously asked, "How was Mr. Hastings in bed? Did you two have sex last night?"
Amelia gently massaged her temples as she listened to Nicole. "Why are all your thoughts so lewd? I'm at the amusement park with Anna now. I’m not talking to you."
Nicole said, "Okay, I know you can't talk right now; send me a message, and we'll talk in detail."
Amelia fell silent.
After hanging up, Nicole immediately sent a message.
It was a curious emoji followed by a sentence.
Nicole: [How is Mr. Hastings in bed?]
When Amelia saw message, she couldn't help but blush slightly. Images from last night involuntarily surfaced in her mind.
She shook her head, intending to ignore Nicole. She put away her phone and looked up at the amusement castle. Anna, who had just been playing on the slide, was nowhere to be seen.
Amelia paused, her eyes changing slightly. She immediately took off her shoes to search inside.
She searched around but couldn't find any trace of Anna. Her heart was suddenly in turmoil.
She quickly found a staff member for help.
The staff searched around but couldn't find Anna, so they started checking the surveillance footage and reported the case.
The surveillance showed that Anna had entered the Fantasy Fortress but hadn't come out.
Amelia searched inside the Fantasy Fortress, but she couldn't find Anna.
As time passed, she grew more and more anxious.
The park manager rushed over when she saw that Amelia was still searching for Anna inside the Fantasy Fortress.
After seeing Amelia, the manager immediately reported the missing child to the higher-ups, cleared out the remaining visitors in the amusement park, and offered compensation.
Amelia felt her heart pounding.
Anna had never gone missing like this before in all these years.
When Frederick arrived, he saw Amelia still searching for Anna inside the Fantasy Fortress.
She had broken out in a sweat on her forehead because she was so anxious.
Frederick hurried over, grabbing her shoulder.
"Amelia," he called out.
Amelia looked at Frederick, paused for a moment, then reached out and grabbed his wrist. Just a moment ago, she had managed to keep herself calm, but when she saw Frederick, she felt inexplicably aggrieved.
"Anna is missing. I've searched everywhere but I haven't seen her." Her voice was choked and almost inaudible.
Frederick felt very uncomfortable when he heard how her voice sounded. He couldn’t bear it.
He patted Amelia's back gently to calm her emotions. "I'm here, don't be afraid. I've checked the surveillance. Anna hasn’t left the mall or the amusement park. Don't worry, I'll find her."
Amelia nodded solemnly. Now that Frederick was here, her frantic heart inexplicably settled into a hint of a hint of calmness.
