Chapter 445 Cynthia Goes to Meet Catherine Alone

After Billy dropped Amelia off at the Davis Manor, she was still deep in thought. Billy handed her the car keys, and it was only then that she realized they had arrived.

"Thanks, Billy," she said quickly, opening the car door. "It's tough to get a cab around here, Mr. Rodriguez. Why don't you take my car back?"

Billy nodded, watched her walk into the Davis Manor, and then drove off in her car.

At the Nightfall Bar, Scott reclined on the sofa, leisurely scrolling through photographs his associates had taken, his eyes brimming with derision. Amelia would rather get help from someone in another city than ask him. His expression darkened as he pocketed his phone.

Nancy snatched it up just then. "Mr. Sinclair, didn't we agree to share info? Why didn't you tell me about this?" She glanced at the locked screen before handing it back.

Scott chuckled, unlocked the phone, and tossed it back to her. Nancy's eyes narrowed as she looked at a photo of Amelia with some stranger. She raised an eyebrow. "Who's this?"

Scott downed his drink and muttered, "Her new helper."

Nancy sneered, transferred all the photos to her phone, and tossed his phone back. "Who's better, this helper or you?"

Scott shot her a cold look.

Nancy raised her glass with a smirk. "Just kidding, Mr. Sinclair. Don't be mad. We're the best partners, right? How about we call ourselves 'The Disruptors'?"

Scott chuckled coldly. "Not a bad idea."

Nancy laughed, finished her drink, and stood up. "I need to get back to the hotel. Since Ms. Davis has a new helper, I have to be more careful."

Scott didn't stop her. He just glanced at her and asked, "When are you planning to produce the evidence to get Frederick out?"

Nancy hesitated for a moment, then replied softly, "The day after tomorrow. Hasn't Ms. Davis found herself a new ally? I want to assess her capabilities and subsequently curb her arrogance."

She intended to give Amelia a sliver of hope, only for Amelia to ultimately realize that, despite all her efforts, she still couldn't rival the ease with which Nancy acted.

Scott looked away and said nothing more. Nancy smiled faintly and left.

Back at the Davis Manor, Amelia had a sleepless night. Early the next morning, Cynthia called. Seeing her name, Amelia quickly answered, her voice full of concern. "Mrs. Kingsley, is everything okay?"

Since Dylan's death, Cynthia had been mentally unstable, and Amelia was worried something had happened.

"Amelia, I'm sorry I couldn't help you at all," Cynthia's voice was full of guilt.

Dylan had been dead for a week. Though she was still heartbroken, her focus had shifted a bit. She had heard about Frederick's situation and knew the Hastings Group was affected.

When Frederick got detained, Cynthia had signed a letter of understanding, but with everything escalating and her mental state all over the place, it didn't work.

Amelia tried to comfort her. "Mrs. Kingsley, this isn't your fault. Take care of yourself. I'll come see you once I sort things out."

Cynthia sighed, "Dylan was doing well in the hospital. If it weren't for the Kingsley family's issues, he wouldn't have left us. I went to the company yesterday to check the surveillance, and the footage from that time was deleted."

Amelia listened, her expression serious. Nancy must've seen something that day.

Amelia bit her lip, her mind racing, but she kept her voice calm to comfort Cynthia.

Cynthia said firmly, "I've thought of a way to help you. Dylan is gone. You're like a daughter to me now. I'll protect you and find out the truth about Dylan's fall!"

Cynthia's words moved Amelia deeply. She murmured, "Mrs. Kingsley, you don't have to do anything. Your health..."

Before she could finish, Cynthia interrupted, "I can get some information out of Catherine. Wait for me. I'll bring you something useful."

Alarm bells went off in Amelia's mind. "Mrs. Kingsley, you don't have to do this for me. Where are you? I'll come to you."

Cynthia didn't answer and hung up.

Worried, Amelia quickly drove out of the Davis Manor and headed straight for the Kingsley Manor. But when she got there, Cynthia was already gone.

No one would tell Amelia where Cynthia had gone; they just said that Cynthia had driven out and they didn't know where.

As Amelia was about to leave, a maid who had been taking care of Cynthia approached her quietly and said, "Mrs. Kingsley has been looking into Catherine's whereabouts recently."

Since Dylan's incident, Harold had hidden Catherine, maybe fearing Cynthia's unstable behavior might cause trouble.

The maid slipped a note into Amelia's hand, glanced around, and whispered, "Mrs. Kingsley might have gone here."

Having taken care of Cynthia for years, the maid felt for her after seeing her go through so much. Cynthia had been sleeping poorly, had no appetite, and was weak. If she really went to confront Catherine, she might not be able to handle it.

Amelia quickly entered the address into her GPS. It pointed to a villa halfway up a mountain. She followed the map and found her way there. Upon seeing Cynthia's car parked at the villa's entrance, she hurriedly opened her car door and got out. As she approached, a guard stopped her.

Before Amelia could speak, a gut-wrenching scream pierced the air from inside the villa. It was Catherine.
