Chapter 302 Married for Three Years, Divorced for Three Years

Amelia practiced for a bit and, with Frederick's help, nailed some techniques.

Frederick noticed she was sweating and wiped her forehead, looking like a doting husband.

Addison had always seen Frederick as cold and distant. Seeing him like this with his wife was a shock.

Addison was also a secret marriage. Comparing Michael to Frederick made Addison feel frustrated.

Since their marriage, Michael had been linked to countless rumored girlfriends.

She couldn't even count them all on her fingers.

"Mr. Hastings and Mrs. Hastings seem so close," Addison said, a bit envious.

Rachel glanced at Frederick and Amelia, then smiled and changed the topic. "I heard you have a new show coming out soon?"

Arnold ordered a coffee for Rachel, and the server brought it over, placing it on the small table in front of her. "Ms. Davis, your coffee."

Rachel's eyes narrowed slightly at the server's voice. She looked up and saw Clara's pitiful face.

Clara, feeling uneasy under Rachel's gaze, lowered her head and didn't dare to make eye contact. "Enjoy your coffee. If you need anything, please call me."

Rachel gave her a brief look and continued chatting with Addison.

Amelia felt a bit tired and wanted to rest.

The caddie took the golf club from Amelia and put it away.

Amelia returned to Rachel's side and noticed Clara standing nearby. She hadn't seen her earlier.

Their group was large, and each staff member was assigned to someone.

Clara was assigned to Rachel while working part-time here.

Seeing Clara, Amelia softly asked Rachel, "Rachel, do you want to change caddies?"

Rachel shook her head. "No need, this is fine."

Amelia nodded. It was clear Rachel didn't care about Clara.

Clara heard their conversation, stiffened slightly, but stood there obediently.

The restaurant had prepared their meals, and the person in charge came over to invite them.

Amelia linked arms with Rachel and headed to the restaurant.

During the meal, Amelia sat between Rachel and Frederick.

Frederick's hand wasn't very convenient, so Amelia helped him during the meal.

Frederick enjoyed it the whole time.

As discussions turned toward the economic negotiations between Kasfee and Yaradia, Amelia perked up, fully engrossed in the topic. So engrossed was she that she completely missed Frederick trying to engage her in conversation.

Seated beside her, Frederick ate his meal in silence, growing increasingly frustrated as he stole glances at Amelia, his attempts at interaction going unnoticed.

After the meal, they headed to the golf course, taking five golf carts.

Rachel and Addison shared a cart, with Rachel driving and their caddies in the back.

Rachel drove fast, and Clara, standing in the back, clung to the handle tightly.

Frederick's right hand was injured, so he called for a driver. He and Amelia sat in the back seat.

The night view of the golf course was charming.

Just before getting on the golf cart, Arnold mentioned playing tonight, hinting at bets and money.

Amelia rarely played cards, let alone bet on golf. Hearing about money made her nervous.

She was a novice.

If she played, wouldn't she definitely lose?

Her eyes showed worry, and the golf cart swayed slightly.

Frederick put his arm around her waist and pulled her closer, whispering, "Betting makes it more fun. Just relax."

With the driver in front and their caddie in the back, Amelia whispered in his ear, "But I don't want to lose money."

Frederick replied, "It's okay. If you lose, it's on me. If you win, it's yours."

Amelia raised an eyebrow. "So I can't lose?"

Frederick smiled.

After arriving at the course, they warmed up.

Amelia kept practicing her swing with Frederick by her side.

Once they started, after a few swings, Amelia, as a novice, was indeed in last place.

Falling behind, her competitive spirit kicked in.

Later, she figured out the rules and got better at controlling her swing.

During the break, Frederick stayed by her side, teaching her techniques.

The others watched, amazed at how attentive Frederick was to Amelia.

"Who knew Mr. Hastings was so good at taking care of his wife?" Alexis said softly.

She thought someone as cold as Frederick would be stern and dull with his wife.

She didn't expect him to be so good at taking care of Amelia's emotions.

If it were someone else, with Amelia falling so far behind and losing so many strokes, even if they didn't care about the money, they probably wouldn't pay much attention to their wife's feelings.

"How many years have Mr. and Mrs. Hastings been married?" Alexis asked.

She and Jackie were on their honeymoon, but Jackie didn't seem as good as Frederick. She wondered if things would change after marriage.

Rachel looked at Frederick's hand on Amelia's waist and smiled coldly.

"They've been married for three years and divorced for three years."

Everyone didn't immediately understand, looking at her expectantly for a story.

"What do you mean?" Arnold asked, handing Rachel a bottle of water and opening the cap for her.

Rachel smiled slightly, looking at Arnold. "Exactly what it sounds like."

A gentle breeze blew, lifting the strands of hair on Rachel's forehead.

With a slight smile, she looked less assertive than usual, with a touch of gentleness that made Arnold stare in a daze.
