Chapter 119 Frederick Invites Anna to Dance the Opening Dance

Amelia was dressed in a plain dress, low-key yet elegant. She stood quietly on the side, with no intention of walking toward Frederick.

Everyone also noticed Anna, whom Amelia was holding. Anna was wearing a red dress and a crown on her head, clearly well-dressed. She bore a striking resemblance to Amelia, and everyone couldn't help but be surprised.

Could this be Amelia's child?

Everyone exchanged confused glances, their eyes filled with curiosity and confusion, clearly not understanding the situation.

They had heard about the complications between Amelia and Frederick and initially thought that Amelia might reconcile with Frederick after her return from Fondaniss. However, based on their current relationship, it seemed that their relationship might have ended.

Anna held Amelia's fingers with her small hands.

Rachel waved and smiled at Amelia and Anna. Anna also obediently waved back at Rachel.

People whispered among themselves.

Amelia remained expressionless. Suddenly, Anna let go of her hand and ran toward Frederick. Amelia was startled and instinctively reached out to pull Anna back.

But Anna ran too fast, and Amelia's outstretched hand couldn't catch her.

Vincent looked at Anna's joyful appearance and smiled.

"When Frederick came to Davis Manor the other day, he said Anna would accompany him for the opening dance."

Amelia raised an eyebrow. She was unaware of this. No wonder Anna had been practicing dance steps diligently before going to bed last night.

She was feeling a bit conflicted as she watched Anna run up to Frederick. The murmur of voices around them quieted down. Everyone's gaze shifted toward Frederick and Anna.

Anna stood in front of Frederick. Frederick politely bent down and made a gesture of invitation. Anna placed her hand in Frederick's palm. It was a heartwarming scene. Frederick's expression was exceptionally tender.

As the music started playing, everyone fell silent. The height difference between Frederick and Anna was too significant, so Frederick decided to bend over and lift Anna up. He held Anna with one hand while clasping her hand with the other, and they danced in the center of the ballroom.

Amelia quietly stood on the side, observing with a complex mix of emotions in her eyes. Sebastian invited Rachel to join them on the dance floor, and soon, more people joined in the center of the ballroom. Amelia found a seat and waited for Anna and Frederick to finish dancing.

When she sat down, she didn't notice Scott sitting in the corner. Scott saw Amelia take a seat across from him and let out a light laugh. "Ms. Davis, has nobody invited you to dance?"

Upon hearing Scott's voice, Amelia immediately felt uneasy. She instinctively glanced around. Wherever Scott appeared, Amber was sure to be there. Scott seemed to have understood Amelia's intentions and smiled, saying, "Don't worry, Amber isn't here today."

Amelia remained indifferent. "Did she not come, or did she not receive an invitation?"

Scott raised an eyebrow, staring intently at Amelia's delicate and beautiful face. "For this high-level banquet, she certainly wasn't invited."

Amelia frowned and withdrew her gaze from Scott. Although Scott liked Amber so much, he seemed to look down on her with his words. Amelia didn't appreciate such behavior from him. She didn't want to continue the conversation with him and stood up to leave.

At that moment, Scott also stood up and looked at Amelia. "Ms. Davis, may I invite you to dance?" As he spoke, he extended his hand toward Amelia.

Amelia merely glanced at him and withdrew her gaze. "No, thank you. I don't know how to dance." With that, she walked away.

Frederick and Anna had finished their dance and were now enjoying desserts together. Amelia walked over.

Frederick's companion returned to the party and saw Anna in Frederick's arms. She found her adorable and approached them.

"Frederick, whose child is this?"

Frederick responded calmly, "A member of the Davis family."

For a few seconds, Frederick's companion was stunned. When she walked over, she thought she had made a mistake seeing Anna in Frederick's arms. Then, when Frederick turned around, she confirmed it was him.

She had never seen Frederick be so gentle with children before.

"I never knew you were so fond of children. When we get married, I definitely want to have a cute daughter."

Amelia overheard their conversation as she approached. Her expression turned sorrowful as she walked up and said, "Anna, come over here."

Anna, who had just finished eating a small cake, immediately stretched her arms toward Amelia. Amelia naturally reached out and took Anna into her arms.

Frederick let go, too.

As Amelia approached, Frederick caught a faint scent coming from her. Feeling a bit dazed, he couldn't help but glance at Amelia a few more times.

"Hello, Ms. Davis. I am Rue Jelena. We met at the boutique the other day, but I didn't have a chance to say hello to you. I am Frederick's fiancée. Nice to meet you."

Rue smiled and extended her hand toward Amelia.

Amelia put Anna down and lightly shook Rue's hand, her expression indifferent. "Hello, I am Amelia Davis."

Her voice was calm, revealing no emotions.

Anna agreed to dance with Vincent, so after Amelia put her down, she ran toward Vincent. Amelia also conveniently found an excuse to leave.

"Sorry, I have to take care of Anna. I'll leave first."

Rue nodded subtly and watched Amelia leave.

After Amelia left, Frederick turned his gaze toward Rue, his tone indifferent. "Since when did you become my fiancée?"

Rue raised an eyebrow and smiled lightly. "I will become your fiancée sooner or later."

As she spoke, her gaze landed on Frederick, and she asked, "Whom did you invite to the opening dance?"

She accidentally bumped into a waiter earlier, staining the dress she wore. Luckily, Rachel had prepared a replacement outfit, but because of that, Rue missed the opening dance with Frederick.
Rue felt disappointed and curious about who Frederick invited to dance with him.

'Could she be his ex-wife?' Rue wondered, her gaze falling on Amelia.

But Amelia seemed indifferent toward Frederick. Even if he were to invite her, she probably wouldn't agree.

Frederick didn't answer her question.

Rue didn't press further either, smiling brightly as she took Frederick's arm and said, "Frederick, even though we missed the opening dance, you still have to dance with me tonight. Otherwise, I would have wasted all this effort on dressing up, wouldn't I?"

Frederick, watching Amelia walk away, had a deep solemn expression.

"I don't want to dance, go find someone else," he said.
