Chapter 339 Jesse Isn't Suitable for Her

Frederick couldn't verify anything, so he simply looked at the child in his arms for a few seconds and smiled.

He gently brushed Anna's cheek with his forehead, feeling a wave of happiness.

Felix pulled up to the General Hospital, and Amelia got out of the car by herself.

Before she did, she glanced at Frederick and said, "Anna's asleep. Take her back to Davis Manor."

Frederick shook his head, "It's all good. I've got a bed in my office. I'll take her to the company."

"You sure about that?" Amelia asked.

Frederick nodded, "Absolutely."

Amelia didn't push it. With Susan around, she felt reassured.

"Just be careful with those sensitive files in your office," Amelia reminded him as she got out the car.

Frederick didn't hear her. Anna wriggled in his arms, and Frederick immediately focused on her, gently putting her little hand back.

Seeing Frederick so focused on Anna, Amelia softly instructed Susan before heading into the hospital.

After a few steps, she turned back and glanced at Frederick.

Frederick looked up and asked, "What's wrong?"

Amelia's eyes flickered to his hand and spoke, "Watch your hand."

Frederick smiled and nodded, "Okay."

His hand was still healing, and it would be a problem if Anna hurt it.

After getting his response, Amelia turned back and went into the hospital.

A few steps later, Frederick spoke again, "Hey, tell your friend to be careful with her boyfriend. She might be getting used."

Amelia paused, nodded slightly, and felt grateful.

She knew Frederick must have known something to say that. Otherwise, he wouldn't have mentioned it.

Amelia walked into the hospital and waited for the elevator. When the door slid open, she saw Amber standing in a hospital gown with an IV drip, accompanied by a nurse.

Amelia's brow furrowed slightly as she glanced at her before stepping inside.

Amber moved a few steps, looking at Amelia with hatred.

Her face was full of resentment. "Dr. Davis, didn't you say the surgery was successful? Why has it recurred?"

Amelia frowned, turned around, and took the diagnosis report from the nurse.

She reviewed Amber's report and scans, then handed them back to the nurse.

Amelia said calmly, "The new tumor isn't where I operated. When you were discharged, everything was clear. If you think it was malpractice, you can sue me."

The elevator door opened. Amelia glanced at Amber and walked out.

Amber took a deep breath and grabbed Amelia's arm. "Dr. Davis, you know my condition and have operated on me before. Could you help me again?"

Amber's face was full of pleading, like there was no bad blood between them.

Amelia gently removed Amber's hand and said, "Sorry, Ms. Roberts, but I'm not in this department anymore. I can't help with your condition. Apologies."

She then quickly walked away.

Amber took a deep breath, her hand clenched tightly as she watched Amelia's retreating figure.

Her current doctor had told her that another surgery on her uterus would make it very difficult to get pregnant in the future. The plan now was to remove her uterus.

When Amelia treated her before, the tumor was worse, and Amelia never suggested such a drastic plan. So, Amber still hoped Amelia could do the surgery.

As soon as Amelia got back to her office, Nicole called.

Amelia glanced at the screen and picked up the phone.

Nicole's voice came through, "Amelia, I'm sorry about the yacht incident."

Nicole had just finished dealing with everything. Todd had scolded her harshly and refused to talk to her until now.

She was very drunk last night, and after being taken to the hospital, she had an IV drip for a long time. When Nicole woke up, she heard that Amelia had also been targeted and was pushed into the sea by Ruth. If Rachel's yacht wasn't nearby, they might have found Amelia's body today.

Nicole panicked and called Jesse to find out that Ruth had a grudge against Amelia.

Ruth had liked Daniel for years, but Daniel's attention was always on Amelia.

Back in school, Ruth had deliberately gotten Amelia drunk, which ended up causing Jesse to be expelled.

And this time, Ruth had a miscarriage. Since Selah was close to Amelia, Ruth thought Amelia had said something to Selah, leading Selah to tamper with her food, causing the miscarriage.

Because of this, Ruth held a grudge against Amelia.

Jesse suspected Ruth wanted to teach Amelia a lesson but hadn't expected Ruth to be so crazy as to want revenge on all of them.

After learning all this, Nicole scolded Jesse harshly and then called Amelia.

Hearing Nicole's weak voice, Amelia asked, "Are you still on an IV?"

Nicole quickly replied, "No, I'm already home."

She sounded a bit awkward, "Amelia, I really didn't know you had a grudge against Ruth. If I had known, I wouldn't have invited her."

Amelia sat down in her office chair and said softly, "It's okay. Rachel talked to me about friendship yesterday."

Nicole, hearing this, couldn't help but tighten her grip on the phone.

Rachel had always been Nicole's idol.

She had known Amelia for many years, from school to colleagues, and their relationship had always been good. Rachel had no issues with her either.

However, after this incident, Rachel probably wouldn't want Amelia to associate with her.

"Is Rachel..." Nicole felt sad, not wanting this to happen.

Amelia sensed the worry in Nicole's tone and softly interrupted, "Rachel said that choosing the wrong friends can bring unnecessary trouble. Yesterday, I thought about it seriously and felt that as good friends, we should remind you. Jesse is not suitable for you."
