Chapter 300 An Ex-Wife is Still a Wife
Amelia could totally sense Frederick's joy. She raised an eyebrow, leaned back in the driver's seat, and asked, "What big deal did you close?"
Frederick's eyes sparkled with happiness as he looked at her.
He chuckled, "If it were a deal, it wouldn't make me this happy."
His gaze was so intense, Amelia almost felt like she was the reason for his joy.
Unable to figure out what made Frederick so happy, Amelia started the car to head back to the Davis Manor.
Sitting in the passenger seat, Frederick suddenly spoke softly, "I already told Mr. Davis we won't be home for dinner tonight. We're going to Sunshine Golf Manor."
Amelia asked, "Is it a business meeting?"
Frederick shook his head, "Just a few friends."
Amelia immediately stopped the car and firmly said, "Not going."
Among Frederick's friends, Scott was sure to be there. Amelia found Scott extremely annoying now.
Frederick chuckled softly, "Scott won't be there."
Ever since he found out Scott had been leaking his whereabouts to Amber, Frederick hadn't contacted him. A few days ago, Scott had even left their group chat on his own.
Seeing Amelia's slight frown, Frederick softly added, "The friends we're meeting this time are business partners, and Rachel knows them all. Most of them aren't locals; they're here for the conference. They've had some contact with the Yaradia representatives coming to Kasfee. If we go early, we can gather some information. Rachel might come later, too."
Hearing that Rachel would be there, Amelia hesitated for a moment and then nodded. With the economic exchange conference approaching, she thought it would be a good opportunity to learn something beforehand.
She said, "Turn on the GPS; I don't know where Sunshine Golf Manor is."
Seeing her agree, Frederick smiled slightly, took out his own phone to navigate, and then suddenly thought of something and sent the address to Amelia. He smiled, "I sent it to you."
Amelia nodded, unlocked her phone, opened the address Frederick sent, and started the navigation. Since there was no phone holder in the car, Frederick naturally took Amelia's phone, "I'll hold it for you."
Amelia didn't find anything unusual and handed the phone to Frederick. For unfamiliar routes, Amelia drove very attentively, not noticing that Frederick, sitting in the passenger seat, had opened Instagram on her phone. He saw that Amelia had blocked him. Even though he already knew it, seeing it in her phone still made him feel hurt.
At the next intersection, while waiting for the red light, Amelia saw Frederick staring at her phone in a daze and asked, "What's wrong?"
Her phone mostly had photos of Anna and work-related messages. Frederick looked up at Amelia, raising her phone slightly, and asked cautiously, "Can I unblock this?"
Amelia didn't understand, "Which one?"
Frederick, holding the phone in his left hand, awkwardly used his injured finger to point at the settings. With one tap, he unblocked himself. "This one."
Amelia then realized he was talking about the Instagram block.
She had blocked Frederick shortly after returning to the country and had forgotten to unblock him since she rarely posted on Instagram.
Seeing that he had already unblocked himself, Amelia looked away indifferently.
She snorted, "You already unblocked it. Why ask me? If I disagree, will you block yourself again?"
Frederick's hand holding the phone stiffened slightly, and he asked with a bit of insecurity, "Should I block it again?"
Amelia glanced at him. The green light turned on, and the car behind honked. She immediately stepped on the gas and turned.
"My Instagram isn't that interesting," she muttered.
She rarely posted on Instagram, mostly sharing medical knowledge when she had interns.
Frederick's voice was low, "As long as it's from you, I'm interested."
Amelia didn't respond.
When they arrived at the entrance of Sunshine Golf Manor, they were stopped by the staff. Sunshine Golf Manor was a members-only place, and most customers arrived in top luxury cars. To the staff, Amelia's ordinary vehicle looked like a beater.
Amelia rolled down the window. The staff had a polite smile but an unfriendly look in his eyes.
"Sorry, miss, but we..."
Before the staff could finish, he saw Frederick in the passenger seat. His expression changed instantly, and he quickly stepped aside, making a "please" gesture.
"Please come in."
He raised his hand, and the barrier quickly lifted.
Seeing Amelia's car drive in, the staff secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Luckily, he hadn't been too rude to Amelia, or he might have lost his job. He never expected Frederick to be in such an unremarkable car.
Inside, a car led the way to a parking spot. After parking, Amelia got out and opened the door for Frederick. As Frederick bent down to get out, his long, elegant left hand naturally rested on Amelia's waist, guiding her towards the golf course.
Feeling his warm hand on her waist, Amelia felt a bit uncomfortable and was about to remove it when Arnold greeted Frederick from a distance.
"Frederick, over here."
Frederick smiled and waved at Arnold, quickening his pace with Amelia in tow.
Arnold noticed Frederick's bandaged hand and was momentarily stunned, asking, "What happened?"
Frederick replied calmly, "Accidentally hurt it."
Arnold frowned slightly, "So you can't play today?"
Frederick answered, "Don't worry, someone will fill in."
Arnold had known Frederick for a long time and was surprised to see him bring a female companion, giving Amelia a second look.
Frederick frowned slightly, his eyes showing a hint of possessiveness, pulling Amelia closer and introducing her, "Arnold, this is my wife, Amelia."
Amelia's expression was subtle when she heard Frederick call her his wife. She glanced at Frederick, her eyes questioning.
Frederick looked at her with gentle eyes, seemingly hinting that it was necessary for socializing.
Amelia didn't say anything, turned to Arnold, and extended her hand with a polite smile. "Hello, I'm Amelia Davis."
Arnold quickly shook her hand lightly and introduced himself, "I'm Arnold Sanders."
Arnold's expression was slightly confused, staring at Frederick as if to ask, wasn't he single? How did he suddenly have a wife?
Frederick, with a "former wife is still a wife" attitude, naturally held Amelia's waist and led her to the golf course.
