Chapter 415 Vincent Doesn't Like Charles

Frederick saw that Amelia kept refusing to accept the assets, so he got up from the couch and walked over to her. He sat down beside her, and placed the agreement that Brittany handed over into Amelia's lap.

He said softly, "Grandma is giving them to you, so just accept them. If you don't, they'll eventually be transferred to Anna anyway."

Brittany nodded in agreement from the side, holding Amelia's hand with a kind expression on her face.

Amelia's mind drifted back to the early days of her marriage into the Hastings family. Brittany had been her rock, her constant pillar of support.

If it weren't for Brittany, she probably wouldn't have lasted three years.

Amelia took a deep breath and reached out to hug Brittany, feeling very touched.

"Grandma, thank you," Amelia murmured, her voice thick with emotion. "You've taken such good care of me all these years. I don't even know how to thank you or repay you."

Brittany gently stroked the back of Amelia's hand as if comforting a child, her smile serene and reassuring. She shook her head gently, conveying that there was no need for reciprocation—her love and care were unconditional.

Mary came out from the kitchen, hesitated for a moment, and then spoke softly. "Mrs. Brittany Hastings, Mr. Hastings, Mrs. Amelia Hastings, dinner is ready."

Brittany let go of Amelia, gently smoothed Amelia's hair, and moved her lips. Although she didn't make a sound, Amelia could clearly see that she said "dinner."

Amelia nodded lightly, got up, and helped push Brittany's wheelchair into the dining room.

Frederick walked over to Anna, picked her up from a pile of toys, and took her to wash her hands.

After dinner, Frederick glanced at Mary and said, "Go pack my grandma's luggage. She will be going with us to Spring Villa tonight."

Mary nodded lightly in acknowledgement, but Brittany shook her head, waving her hand to indicate she wasn't going.

Tom stood beside Brittany, gently persuading her. "Mrs. Brittany Hastings, Mr. Hastings wants you to stay with him for a while, please go."

Brittany shook her head, her expression very determined, waving her hand at Frederick. She didn't want to go.

Frederick frowned slightly and asked seriously, "Grandma, don't you want to go to Spring Villa and live with me?"

Brittany waved her hand.

Amelia walked over to Brittany and tried to gently persuade her. "Grandma, please go to Spring Villa with Frederick. Frederick always stays at Spring Villa, and he can see you every day after work, which will make him feel more at ease."

Brittany still shook her head.

Tom sighed lightly and explained in a low voice. "Mrs. Brittany Hastings doesn't want to go. Old people are like this; when they reach a certain age, they only want to stay in the place they've lived for decades, afraid that once they leave, they won't be able to come back."

Amelia paused; she could understand Brittany's feelings at this moment. After all, when she was in Fondaniss, her father was the same way.

Although Vincent never mentioned wanting to return to Kasfee in front of her, Amelia could clearly feel how homesick he was.

In the end, Brittany didn't leave Hastings Manor with them.

When they left, Brittany saw them off at the door and only returned inside after Frederick's car disappeared from sight.

Amelia held Anna in the back seat, feeling very sad.

Frederick glanced at the rearview mirror, saw Amelia silently looking out the window, and said softly. "Birth, aging, sickness, and death are natural cycles; they can't be stopped."

Amelia heard Frederick's words and nodded lightly. "Yeah."

Frederick glanced at Anna, who was already sleeping in her arms, and changed the subject. "Anna played at the company all day today and didn't take a nap at noon. She couldn't keep her eyes open as she got in the car."

Amelia's lips curved slightly at his words. She looked down at Anna in her arms and smiled helplessly. "So, I take it you rest at noon either?"

Frederick responded softly, "No, Anna has too much energy."

Amelia hesitated for a moment, then spoke softly, "It's better not to take her to work with you tomorrow. It affects your work too much."

Frederick immediately refused. "It doesn't affect me. I don't usually take naps at noon anyway. Having her around these days makes the work day go by especially fast. If I don't bring her, she'll have someone to accompany her, but my days at the company will be tough," he said seriously.

Amelia raised her eyebrows slightly, not knowing how to respond to Frederick.

Seeing the fatigue in her eyes, Frederick thought about how she must have been busy at the hospital that day. He said gently, "You rest for a while. I'll wake you when we get to the Davis Manor."

There was still some distance to go from the Hastings Manor to the Davis Manor.

Listening to Frederick, Amelia nodded lightly and said "Okay" before leaning back in her seat, holding Anna a bit tighter and closing her eyes.

Frederick glanced at the quiet Amelia in the rearview mirror and changed the car's music to a softer, more soothing tune.

When they arrived at the Davis Manor, Amelia opened her eyes just as Frederick parked the car.

A silver business car was also parked at the entrance of the Davis Manor.

Amelia rubbed her temples, took out her phone, and checked the time. It was already past nine. She pondered, 'Why are there guests at this time of night?'

Seeing that Amelia was awake, Frederick got out of the car, opened the back door for her, and bent down to take Anna from her arms.

Anna opened her eyes briefly in Frederick's arms, saw it was him, and then relaxed, burying her little head into his chest.

After getting out of the car, Amelia glanced at the silver business car a few more times, a hint of confusion in her eyes.

Frederick also glanced at the car by the roadside before walking into the Davis Manor.

As Amelia passed the entrance, she asked the security personnel, "Do we have guests?"

The security personnel nodded, "They brought Ms. Rachel Davis back."

A hint of confusion flashed in Amelia's eyes as she stepped inside.

In the living room, Vincent was sitting in a chair drinking coffee while Charles sat opposite him, also holding a cup.

Vincent's expression was somewhat serious, and the atmosphere was tense.

As soon as Amelia and Frederick entered, Vincent put down his cup, smiled, and looked at them. "You're back?"

Amelia nodded lightly, sensing the tension in the air. A hint of confusion flashed in her eyes, and she felt a bit wary of Charles.

Even Rachel couldn't understand Charles, so she certainly couldn't.

Frederick, holding Anna, stood behind Amelia. Seeing Charles, his expression remained calm. "Mr. Wright," he greeted.

Charles nodded lightly, "Mr. Hastings, good evening."

Amelia then took Anna from Frederick's arms and said softly, "You guys talk. I'll take Anna to the bedroom."

Frederick nodded, walked over to sit next to Vincent, and naturally joined the conversation.

With Frederick handling things, Amelia felt relieved and carried Anna upstairs.

As she went upstairs, she couldn't help but glance at Vincent. Sure enough, she saw the obvious displeasure on his face as he looked at Charles.
