Chapter 364 Arousal
Amelia paused at the doorway, turning around to see Anna sitting on her little bed, her wide eyes filled with curiosity. "Mommy, it's so late. Where are you and Uncle Frederick going?"
Before Amelia could answer, Anna persisted, "Aren't you going to sleep?"
Amelia sighed softly and stepped back into the room, her voice soothing. "Yes, but I need to take your Uncle Frederick home first."
Anna stood up, opening her arms for a hug. Amelia bent down to scoop her up, holding her close. Anna asked, "But doesn't Uncle Frederick know how to drive?"
Anna, her face alight with curiosity, nestled into Amelia's arms and gazed up at Frederick with bright eyes.
Frederick rubbed his forehead, trying to calm the pounding in his temples.
Amelia, noting Anna's inquisitive expression, spoke softly, "Frederick's hand is hurt, Anna. Have you forgotten? I'm taking him home and then I'll be back soon."
Anna tilted her head up, her face slightly sullen. "Can I have some milk?" she suddenly asked, clearly negotiating her terms.
Amelia hesitated, knowing Anna had already indulged quite a bit today, but before she could respond, Frederick spoke up. "I'll go make you some milk right now," he said with a reassuring smile. "After you drink the milk, you have to go to sleep, okay?"
Anna nodded obediently, her expression sincere. Seeing this, Frederick couldn't help but feel a mixture of amusement and exhaustion, rubbing his temples as he stood and made his way to the kitchen.
Anna watched Frederick's back, then got down from Amelia's arms, lying quietly on the bed, waiting for Frederick to bring the bottle.
About ten minutes later, Frederick came upstairs with a bottle in hand.
Anna immediately got up from the bed, smiling brightly to greet Frederick.
Frederick couldn't help but pinch her little cheek before handing her the bottle.
Anna took the bottle and said crisply, "Thank you, Uncle Frederick." Then she waved her little hand, signaling Amelia and Frederick to leave.
Susan walked to the door and saw that Frederick hadn't left yet, realizing he was waiting for Amelia. She said kindly, "Ms. Amelia Davis, you should take Mr. Hastings home first. After Ms. Anna Davis drinks her milk, I'll brush her teeth."
Amelia glanced at the time. It was indeed getting late.
After dropping Frederick off, she still needed to head back to the Davis Manor and prepare for the networking event the next day. She had never attended such an event before and felt a bit anxious, needing to be in top form.
"Alright." She agreed and headed for the door, with Frederick following closely behind, his expression tinged with a hint of wariness, as if expecting Anna to call them back at any moment.
As they went downstairs to the living room, Frederick hadn't even taken a breath when Susan's voice came from upstairs. "Mr. Hastings."
Frederick immediately stopped and looked upstairs, showing a helpless expression.
Susan said, "You forgot your phone."
Frederick then remembered that he had left his phone in the cabinet in the bedroom. He reached out to take the phone Susan handed him and asked. "Is there anything else?"
Susan didn't quite understand what Frederick meant and nodded blankly, "There shouldn't be anything else."
Amelia smiled and had already changed her shoes at the entrance. "Let's go."
Frederick nodded and went to the entrance to change his shoes, quickly catching up with Amelia.
"Give me the car keys." Amelia walked to the car and held out her hand to Frederick.
Frederick took out the car keys and placed them in Amelia's hand.
Amelia took the keys, opened the car door, and got in.
Frederick also got into the passenger seat, leaning his head on Amelia's shoulder, and said somewhat dejectedly. "Do you think Anna's upset with me?"
Amelia laughed at Frederick's slightly insecure words. "What could she have against you? Don't you know your own daughter's personality?"
Frederick sighed deeply, feeling as if all his frustrations were tied to Amelia and Anna.
Seeing his handsome face marked by a touch of gloom, Amelia reached out and lightly patted his cheek.
"Don't distract me while I'm driving," she muttered.
Only then did Frederick reluctantly lean back in his seat.
Amelia started the car and left the Davis Manor.
Spring Villa was farther than Pearl Building. So as they passed Pearl Building, Amelia spoke softly. "Why don't you stay at Pearl Building tonight?"
Frederick immediately shook his head, "No, let's go back to Spring Villa."
Amelia raised her eyebrows slightly. Seeing his insistence, she had no objections and continued driving toward Spring Villa.
Upon reaching Spring Villa, as Amelia parked the car and turned to speak to Frederick, he had already unbuckled his seatbelt and leaned across the front seat, capturing her lips in a passionate kiss.
His kiss was intense and deep, leaving Amelia breathless and momentarily overwhelmed.
Amelia's hand pressed against his chest, feeling his strong, powerful heartbeat under her palm. The warmth of his body seeped into her skin, igniting the desire within her. His kiss was intense, almost possessive, making it impossible for her to resist.
His advances shifted from her lips to other parts, his head buried in her neck, eliciting a moan of restraint from Amelia.
Frederick's hand ventured upward, but Amelia firmly pressed his broad, warm palm against him, her voice croaking. "Not here."
Her delicate face was flushed, her eyes pleading and glazed with desire. Frederick hesitated but then pulled back slightly, nodded, and murmured, "Okay."
Reluctantly, Frederick gave her an affectionate kiss on the cheek, fearing that his impatience might displease her.
He tidied up Amelia's disheveled clothes, then opened the door of the passenger seat to exit the car.
Amelia unbuckled her seatbelt and opened the door.
The moment her feet touched the ground, she felt weak in her knees.
The kiss from Frederick had indeed ignited a myriad of emotions within her.
Without warning, Frederick rounded the car and, in one fluid motion, hoisted Amelia into his arms.
This time, far from a romantic princess carry, it was more like holding a child, cradling her by the hips.
His action was so sudden that Amelia's hands instinctively looped around his neck.
Frederick's eyes glinted with amusement, lifting her legs to rest on his waist, his voice deep and throaty as he instructed, "Hold on tight."
