Chapter 315 An Unusual Feeling

After a bit, Susan knocked on the door. "Ms. Davis, if you don't get up soon, you'll be late."

Susan's voice made Frederick pause the kiss. But he didn't let go. He held her tight, his head buried in her neck, voice low and husky with desire.

He whispered, "Amelia. I'm happy."

He was thrilled she hadn't tossed the bracelet.

It had been ages since he felt this happy. If Amelia wanted his life right now, he'd give it to her.

Amelia stared at the ceiling, silent for a few seconds, then spoke in a raspy voice. "Frederick."

Frederick softly replied, "I'm here."

Amelia bit her lip and said, "If you don't move, I'll be late for work."

Frederick had thought she had more to say, but that was it. He hesitated, a bit disappointed, but eventually got up and let her go.

Amelia quickly got up too. As she lifted the comforter, her slip dress strap slipped off. From Frederick's angle, he saw her pale skin.

Amelia quickly covered her chest and met Frederick's gleaming eyes. She gritted her teeth and softly scolded, "Get out."

Frederick cleared his throat and left her room.

After getting ready, Amelia went downstairs, her cheeks still a bit flushed.

Vincent and the others were already in the dining room.

Frederick smiled at her.

Amelia glanced at him and sat down. A sleepless night and the earlier struggle had drained her, and she felt tired.

She sat listlessly. Vincent noticed and asked, "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

Amelia's face was red. Was she feverish? Vincent touched her forehead with the back of his hand.

Normal temperature.

To avoid worrying her dad, Amelia mustered some energy and smiled, "I just didn't get enough rest last night."

She picked up a spoon and started on her oatmeal.

Frederick watched her and said, "If you didn't sleep well, you should stay home and rest."

Amelia shook her head, "There's a meeting at the hospital today. As long as I'm not in the operating room, it's fine."

Seeing her insist, Frederick didn't push further.

Vincent nodded. Remembering she didn't come home for dinner last night, he brought it up. "Isn't today Nicole's birthday? Didn't she invite you for dinner?"

Amelia remembered and quickly replied, "Yes, she did. I won't be home for dinner tonight."

Vincent nodded, "Where's she taking you?"

Amelia replied, "We're going on a yacht to Sapphire Sea."

Vincent nodded and looked at Frederick. "Frederick, come back directly after work."

Frederick nodded, "Alright, Mr. Davis."

After breakfast, Amelia and Frederick left together.

In the yard, Amelia was about to drive when Frederick stopped her, "You're riding with me today."

Amelia didn't argue and nodded, following him to his car. With Felix driving, Amelia relaxed and dozed off in the seat.

Frederick gently pressed her head against his shoulder. Amelia opened her eyes briefly but didn't move, just leaned against him. She wasn't asleep, just enjoying the comfort.

Frederick looked down at her, a slight smile on his lips, unable to hide his joy.

When they arrived at the hospital, Amelia opened her eyes, and Frederick got out, helping her out of the car.

They went to the office together. After she settled in, she helped Frederick get his stitches removed.

Another doctor was in charge of the stitches, while Amelia stayed by his side. During the procedure, Frederick held Amelia's waist tightly with his left hand, burying his head in her embrace.

Amelia looked down at him, feeling he was overacting. She felt a bit embarrassed. The doctor removing the stitches was also uncomfortable, being extra careful not to cause Frederick any pain.

After the stitches were out, the doctor left.

Amelia looked down at Frederick, still holding her tightly, and said softly, "The stitches are out. Can you let go now?"

Frederick finally released his hold.

Amelia bent down to bandage his wound, giving him serious instructions. The wound shouldn't get wet for at least two to three days.

Frederick listened attentively and then said, "I have a question."

Thinking it was about the wound, Amelia said, "Go ahead."

Frederick stared at her intently, with a hint of concern. "Can I still come to the Davis family for dinner in the future?"

His question took Amelia aback. She paused and then said softly, "You need to get approval from my dad for that."

Frederick chuckled, "I was afraid you wouldn't let me ask Mr. Davis."

Amelia raised an eyebrow and began to pack up her tools. She said, "I'll  take Nicole's car in the afternoon. My dad said you're invited for dinner, so remember to come."

Frederick replied softly, "I have a gathering tonight as well."

Amelia whispered, "Then you should inform my dad."

Frederick nodded, "Okay."

As they spoke, Amelia finished packing up. Seeing Frederick still sitting there, she asked, "Why are you still here instead of going to the company?"

Frederick stood up and said softly, "On my way. Being the breadwinner again. A sweet burden."

Amelia snorted lightly without responding.

Frederick smiled, took a step, and left.

Seeing Frederick come out, Felix immediately drove the car to the hospital entrance.

Felix had already found out the route for Nicole's birthday party. After Frederick got in the car, he reported in a low voice.

"Charles Wright, the eldest son of the Wright family, arrived in Kasfee yesterday. He organized a party at Sapphire Sea, and the route is probably similar to Ms. Amelia Davis's. Ms. Rachel Davis is also among the guests. Are you interested in attending?"

The Wright family used to have a presence in Kasfee, but decades ago, they moved to Yaradia for development and never returned.

This time, Charles came back as a representative of Yaradia's business for the economic exchange meeting.

The Wright family had done well in Yaradia, and it was rare for a CEO to attend such exchange meetings personally. Charles could have sent a representative, but he chose to come back in person, making it seem significant.
