Chapter 406 Dragging the Entire Kingsley Family into the Mud

The assistant continued chatting with his colleagues, completely ignoring Dylan.

Dylan's face had turned very pale, and he almost had to support himself against the wall to get back to his room.

The assistant's indifference confirmed his suspicions: Ken knew. He knew and had allowed this to happen. Line's scheming and Ken's abandonment swirled through his mind like a cruel storm. They had left Kasfee together, leaving him to face the fallout alone.

Staggering, Dylan collapsed onto the edge of the bed, his eyes swimming with disappointment. None of it made sense. Ken had loved him once—deeply, genuinely. Back then, Ken had cared for him with such devotion, never wanting to see him hurt.

But now, just a few months later, it was as if a different man had taken Ken's place. Could power really change someone this much? Ken had tasted its intoxicating flavor and seemed unwilling to return to a simpler, ordinary life with Dylan.

Dylan felt utterly hopeless at this moment, but he couldn't help but look at all the news about himself online. His personal social media accounts were a battlefield of insults. Every comment beneath the video slashed at his already raw emotions. Complete strangers cursed him and mocked him. Some even pitied Line, the orchestrator of his downfall.

Dylan scrolled through the comments one by one. He wanted desperately to tell the truth—that he and Ken had been together for years, that he was not the cheater. If anyone was, it was Line. But fear silenced him. The courage to defend himself publicly eluded him.

He deleted everything he had shared about Ken on his social media platforms. After all, if Ken's identity were revealed, the impact would be significant.

He even deleted all of Ken's photos and even the sweet moments he had recorded with Ken on his alternate account.

Just as he had deleted almost all the messages, a call from Harold came in. Dylan looked at his father's name on the caller ID and didn't dare to answer the call. Harold cared a lot about his family's reputation, and now that this matter had spread all over the internet, Harold would definitely blame him.

Dylan turned off his phone, not answering any calls or sending any messages. He just had to get through tonight, and he would fly to Fondaniss first thing in the morning. Once in Fondaniss, he would find Ken and get a clear explanation from him. He didn't believe Ken could be so heartless to him!

Meanwhile, at General Hospital, Amelia headed to the cafeteria with her colleagues to eat after finishing the group discussion,

While eating, Frederick called her on a video call.

"Mommy, have you had lunch yet?" chirped Anna, her adorable face filling the screen, eyes wide with innocence and curiosity.

"I was just about to, sweetie. Have you been a good girl at Dad's company?" Amelia asked gently.

Anna nodded obediently, "I've been very good. Uncle Frederick bought me a lot of delicious food." She tried to show the spread but struggled with the phone. "Uncle Frederick, show Mommy the delicious food."

Frederick took the phone, his eyes soft with affection. In moments, Amelia saw the table laden with Anna's favorite dishes. She couldn't help but chuckle softly, touching her forehead. "Can you two even eat all that?"

Amelia's colleagues, overhearing the call, were full of questions. Uncle Frederick? Mommy? What was going on?

"We probably can't finish it all," Frederick admitted with a chuckle. "I was calling to see if you wanted to join us. Felix can come pick you up."

Amelia's colleagues looked even more shocked, their eyes full of curiosity as they looked at Amelia. They exchanged glances. Did Amelia already have a child with Frederick?

Amelia noticed the change in her colleagues' expressions, smiled apologetically, and then softly said to Frederick. "You and Anna should just go ahead. I'm eating with my colleagues in the cafeteria, and we need to discuss some tricky hospital cases over lunch. I'll talk to you later."

Frederick's voice, warm and considerate, crooned through the speaker. "Okay, I'll bring Anna to pick you up after work then."

"Sounds good," Amelia replied softly, ending the call. She turned back to her colleagues, who were staring at her with wide eyes filled with unasked questions. Smiling awkwardly, she redirected the conversation back to the patients.

Even though her colleagues were curious, they were too embarrassed to ask Amelia anything. Right now, Maria's condition was indeed their main focus.

Although Jessica had increased the medication dosage slightly, there were no major issues.

Amelia also checked Maria's daily medication dosage, and everything was normal. Logically, Maria's body shouldn't have had such a strong rejection reaction.

As the topic shifted, everyone's attention moved away from Amelia and Frederick's relationship.

After lunch, Amelia said to her colleagues, "Let's test Maria's stool sample to see if she ate anything else."

Everyone nodded in agreement.

On the way back to the department, a voice called out to Amelia. "Ms. Davis."

Amelia turned her head at the sound and saw Cynthia walking quickly toward her, her expression very anxious. "Ms. Davis, I can't reach Dylan. Can you help me get in touch with him?" As Cynthia spoke, she glanced at Amelia's colleagues.

Amelia's colleagues immediately realized that Cynthia had something to discuss with Amelia privately, so they tactfully left.

After everyone had left, Cynthia whispered to Amelia. "Dylan and Mr. Angoulême's affair has been exposed. Now, many media and reporters are standing outside the Kingsley Group headquarters. They're driving Harold crazy, and he can't reach Dylan. The phone is unreachable, and we can't find him. You know Dylan's mental state. I'm worried he might do something to harm himself again."

Cynthia tightly held Amelia's hand, extremely flustered.

Amelia patted Cynthia's hand, comforting her. "Mrs. Kingsley, don't worry. I just called Dylan. He should already be on the plane."

Cynthia blinked in confusion."On the plane? He told me the private jet was leaving tonight."

Amelia nodded gently. "He might have left earlier. Don't worry, I’ll get to the bottom of it."

Cynthia nodded quickly and sighed. "Ms. Davis, thank you. If he left earlier, that's good."

Cynthia now hated those who exposed this matter. What had begun as a personal issue between Dylan and Ken had spiraled into a public scandal, dragging the entire Kingsley family along with it.
