Chapter 124 Amber Had Such a Great Attraction to Him

Seeing Frederick remain silent for a while, Felix immediately said, "Mr. Hastings, rest assured, I will do my best to persuade Ms. Roberts to implicate Mike."

After he finished speaking, Frederick's deep voice immediately sounded.

"No need for that. If she wants to forgive him, then let her forgive him. For now, we won't hold Mike accountable."

Felix was particularly shocked when he heard Frederick's words. They already had evidence of Mike's misconduct, and even without Amber's identification, they could completely hold Mike legally responsible.

Mike committed a business crime and could be sentenced to at least five years in prison. If Amber was willing to identify him, his sentence would be more severe.

"Mr. Hastings..." Felix intended to give advice but then realized that Frederick might have other plans. He hesitated for a moment.

"Do you want Ms. Roberts to be a scapegoat?"

Felix, as Frederick's personal assistant, naturally knew who Frederick cared about the most. Amber was no longer important. Frederick didn't care about her at all.

However, over the years, Amber has been stirring up public opinion, so many people mistakenly believed that Frederick still loves her.

Now, because Mike was related to Wendy, Amber chose to forgive him, and Frederick naturally went along with her.

"She forgave him voluntarily." Frederick's voice had no emotion, and his tone was very indifferent.

Felix, hearing this, did not continue to inquire. "Okay, I understand."

Frederick responded lightly and hung up the phone.

Amber has been in the hospital for a few days, and Frederick has not come to visit. Felix had been coming frequently instead.

Amelia bumped into Felix almost every day. Felix was Frederick's confidant, and his presence represents Frederick.

Having been mentally prepared for this, Amelia did not feel a big difference in her heart.

Felix's expression was always very unnatural every time he saw Amelia. He wanted to explain things to Amelia, but he didn't know how to start.

When it was time to get off work Amelia walked into the elevator and headed to the underground garage.

Quentin has been waiting by Amelia's car since early on. He saw Amelia coming down and smiled, walking toward her.

"Ms. Davis, are you off work?"

Amelia nodded lightly, with a hint of distance in her politeness. "Mr. Adams, I heard that your cousin was discharged. Who are you visiting?"

A couple of days ago, Nicole told her that Quentin's cousin was hospitalized, so Quentin has been coming to the hospital frequently during this time.

But she already understood his intentions when he was discharged early this morning and Quentin was still at the hospital.

When Quentin was questioned by Amelia, not only did he not feel any embarrassment, he was also particularly honest.

"I specifically waited here for you."

Amelia remained calm, quietly looking at him, waiting for what he had to say.

Being looked at by her calm eyes made Quentin somewhat uncomfortable, and a slight flaw appeared in his gentle smile. Still, he bravely went on. "Ms. Davis, I've known you for so many years, and yet I've never taken you out for a meal. I wonder if you're free tonight. I've already made a reservation at a restaurant."

Quentin thought that by saying he had already made a reservation, Amelia would feel a bit awkward in refusing.

He didn't expect Amelia to just glance at her watch and politely decline his offer.

"I'm sorry, I already have plans."

Quentin paused, his gaze mixed with a sense of urgency.

"Ms. Davis, could it be that you don't want to have dinner with me, so you're using that lame excuse?"

Amelia's expression appeared somewhat awkward as she asked, astonished, "Is it really that bad?"

Quentin's expression slightly stiffened, as he hadn't expected Amelia to actually make up excuses for herself.

Amelia smiled lightly and looked at him seriously. "Mr. Adams, I really don't have the time, I'm sorry."

She said this softly, then opened the car door and stepped inside.

Quentin watched as Amelia got into the car. He was unwilling to let things go. He approached the front of Amelia's car.

"Ms. Davis, did I do something to annoy you?"

Amelia shook her head. "Mr. Adams, you're overthinking things."

Quentin heard Amelia's response and secretly breathed a sigh of relief. He smiled tenderly again.

"Ms. Davis, since you're busy today, I'll reschedule with you another time."

Amelia didn't answer and started the car to leave.

Quentin did nothing to make Amelia dislike him, but disliking someone doesn't require any reason. Amelia simply didn't like Quentin, and she even found his tenderness too deliberate, so she had no interest in him whatsoever.

She drove out of the garage without noticing that Frederick's car was parked in the corner.

He was sitting in the backseat, expressionless, watching Amelia and Quentin's conversation.

It was only after Amelia's car left that he loosened his clenched jaw ever so slightly.

Quentin failed to arrange a meeting with Amelia, and a hint of defeat appeared on his face. His expression became dark and he looked particularly sinister, completely different from his previous tender demeanor.

If Amelia continued to distance herself from him, he would have to figure out another way.

After Felix visited Amber and came down from upstairs, he returned to the car and noticed Frederick sitting inside, lost in thought.

He immediately opened the driver's door and got in, making a light gesture.

Frederick suddenly spoke, his voice low. "How is the Adams family doing lately?"

Felix, upon hearing this, answered earnestly, "Quentin is quite capable. I'm not sure where he got the investment from, but he plans to make a breakthrough with the Adams family."

"Capable?" Frederick snorted and said, "I'd really like to see just how capable he is."

Felix, upon hearing this, showed a fleeting emotion of surprise in his eyes.

But considering Quentin's intentions toward Amelia during the Ascending Company celebration, Frederick naturally wanted to punish him.

Felix nodded and replied, "Got it."

For some reason, the thought of seeing Amelia suddenly consumed Frederick's mind. He sat coldly on the backseat of the car, staring at the short message from Sebastian on the screen.

Sebastian [Meet at Maples Club tonight.]

Noah and Yves replied almost simultaneously.

Noah: [Got it.]

Yves: [On my way.]

Scott also responded: [I'll be there immediately.]

Upon seeing Scott's reply, Sebastian immediately sent another message.

Sebastian: [Scott, don't bring Amber with you, or else I'll have a lot of explaining to do to Rachel tomorrow.]

Scott quickly replied: [Alright, but you should tell that to Frederick.]

Amber was injured and admitted to the hospital, so Frederick instructed Felix to visit her every day.

Amber's management company had been marketing this incident all along.

Scott had been paying close attention, so he knew everything right away.

When Sebastian saw this message, he was lost in thought for a while. After a moment, Frederick's phone received a new message.

Sebastian: [Why are you getting involved with Amber again?]

Frederick frowned, curious as to why Amber held such a strong attraction for others when she was in trouble. He suspected Amelia felt the same way.
