Chapter 69 Be Prepared to Quarrel

Half an hour later, Daniel walked out of the Davis family home. He took a step toward his car and caught sight of another car parked at the corner of the Davis family home. There were no lights inside the car, just a flickering red dot.

Frederick sat in the car with a cold face, coldly glancing at Daniel. He extinguished the cigarette in his mouth and started the car, speeding past Daniel's car.

Daniel stood in place and watched for quite some time before finally bending over to get in the car.

Rachel had been feeling unwell lately. In her earlier years, she often neglected meals due to work, which has now led to health issues.

Susan had prepared lunch and was about to bring it to Rachel. Amelia happened to be free and was feeling a bit bored at home.

"Susan, I'll take lunch to my sister. Besides, I also want to visit the company."

Susan hesitated and looked at Amelia. "Miss Amelia, you should rest at home."

Amelia was pregnant now, and it was a bit worrisome to let her go out alone.

Vincent sat on the sofa, flipping through a magazine, and spoke upon hearing the conversation.

"Let the driver take her. It's better than her being bored at home."

Amelia grinned. "Dad, I knew you understand me the best."

Vincent also smiled and said, "I knew you couldn't sit still."

"When all the documents are ready, we'll leave for Fondaniss ahead of schedule."

Amelia nodded and readily agreed, "Okay."

The Davis family driver took Amelia to Davis Group.

The two sisters had a similar appearance, with Amelia being more gentle overall, while Rachel was a cold and beautiful woman.

Although she rarely visited the Davis Group, when she entered the company lobby, she was recognized by the receptionist at the door.

The receptionist at the front desk actively greeted Amelia.

Amelia smiled slightly, "Good afternoon, everyone. Thank you for your hard work."

"I will treat everyone to afternoon tea later."

Upon hearing this, everyone thanked her in unison.

Amelia, with a smile on her face, entered the elevator and went directly to Rachel's office floor.

She got off the elevator and saw Amber wearing a suit, holding a folder in her hand, just walking out of Rachel's office.

Amber seemed to have been scolded, her expression not looking so good.

Amelia saw her, and her expression froze.

Amber also paused for a moment.

"Ms. Davis."

Amelia nodded lightly, "You work here?"

Amber made a sound of agreement, "I've been here for two days, didn't Ms. Rachel tell you?"

Amelia frowned, her eyes darkened, "As a junior employee, my sister doesn't need to tell me about these things."

Amber's face stiffened upon hearing this.

Secretary Nancy then walked out of Rachel's office and saw Amelia and Amber bump into each other. She was about to explain when Amelia smiled and looked at her.

"I will treat all the company's employees to afternoon tea. Nancy, please inform each department to register the headcount and order quantity. I will pay for it."

Secretary Nancy nodded respectfully and then looked at Amber, quietly asking Amelia.

"Everyone has been busy recently. Can Amber handle the registration?"

Amelia nodded, "Whatever."

After saying that, she walked into Rachel's office.

"Amber, please handle the registration and get familiar with the company's departments."

Secretary Nancy glanced at Amber and said in a low voice.

Only a few outsiders knew about the marriage between Amelia and Frederick, and Secretary Nancy was one of them, so she was quite hostile toward Amber.

I don't know what Frederick saw in Amber.

Whether it was in terms of character or appearance, Amber was no match for Amelia.

Amelia entered Rachel's office carrying a lunch box.

Rachel was looking down at the documents when she noticed someone entering. She glanced up and saw Amelia placing a lunch box on the coffee table.

She immediately put down her work, got up from her office chair, and walked over.

"Why did you come today? Is Susan on leave?" Rachel asked.

Amelia shook her head, "Staying at home is boring, so I thought of coming out for a walk."

"When did Amber join the company? Why didn't you tell me?" Rachel asked. She closed the office door and walked over to the sofa, sitting down and accepting the bowl of food Amelia handed to her with a smile.

"She probably came to the company to gather evidence of my 'affair,'" Rachel said with a calculating look in her eyes. "As you said, life is too boring, so she brought entertainment to me. I can't refuse, right?"

Amelia looked helpless.

"I have already divorced Frederick, so there's no need..."

Rachel put down the lunch box and stared deeply at Amelia.

"What if you haven't divorced Frederick? Would you endure and let her make a fool of you?"

"Amelia, I know how to handle it."

Amelia nodded, "Yes, of course, I know you know how to handle it."

She just didn't want Amber to be around her family all the time, which made her feel disgusted for no reason.

After registering, Amber came to find Amelia with an order in hand.

"Ms. Davis, it's a total of $6,860."

"The restaurant said the order is too big, and they need the payment settled all at once."

Amelia nodded and promptly paid the money.

"Is it done?"

Amber nodded, feeling heavy-hearted.

Just a single sentence from Amelia had cost her three months' salary.

The disparity between people made Amber feel very unbalanced.

Amber collected the order and was about to leave Rachel's office.

"This afternoon, we have to go to Sankara Group."

"Amber, come with me," Rachel said.

Sankara Group was a company that the Hastings Group and Davis Group had collaborated with in their early years, with Davis Group and the Hastings Group holding the majority of the shares.

Amber naturally knew about it.

She nodded and agreed, "Sure, Ms. Rachel."

Rachel glanced at her and then looked at Amelia. "Amelia, why don't you come with me this afternoon?"

Amelia shook her head. "No."

She didn't want to see Frederick.

Rachel raised an eyebrow. "Don't you have nothing else to do?"

"Come with me so you can understand Davis Group's business. It's better to be prepared for any unexpected events in the future. You know nothing about it."

Amelia’s expression changed slightly upon hearing this.

"Nothing unexpected will happen to Davis Group, not even you and Dad."

Rachel smiled and reached out to ruffle her hair, looking doting.

"So, will you come with me to Sankara Group?"

Amelia nodded and agreed. "Okay."

"I'll go take a look."

Rachel finally smiled in satisfaction.

Amber watched the close relationship between Rachel and Amelia, and a hint of mockery flashed in her eyes. She left Rachel's office.

If Rachel had known about what had happened between Amelia and Frederick, would their relationship still be so good?

Amber gritted her teeth and vowed to see how the sisters would react when she gathered all the evidence. Would they still maintain a harmonious relationship then?
