Chapter 110 Frederick Hospitalized for Stomach Illness, Amelia's Emergency Response

Rachel glanced at him and waved his hand away. "We're not married yet, and you're already thinking about having children?"

Sebastian was about to speak when Vincent came back from outside.

He had arranged to go fishing with a friend early in the morning, planning to catch some fish and bring them back for Anna to eat. But after sitting down for a while, he received a call from Susan saying that Sebastian had arrived.

Sebastian and Rachel had been dating for a long time now. They were both at the age when they should be getting married, so Vincent naturally knew the purpose of Sebastian's visit to Davis Manor.

As long as Sebastian could make Rachel happy, Vincent had no other requirements for him.

When Sebastian saw Vincent enter the house, he immediately got up from the couch. "Vincent."

It was the first time Sebastian formally met his father-in-law, so he couldn't help but feel nervous.

Vincent nodded and motioned for Sebastian to sit down. "Sit, let's talk."

Rachel, seeing the situation, stood up with Anna in her arms. "You guys talk, I'll take Anna upstairs to play."

When Sebastian heard this, he looked at Rachel, seeking her help. Rachel seemed to not understand Sebastian's plea in his eyes and went upstairs.

She believed that Sebastian could face her father alone and convince him to let her marry him.

If he couldn't even do this, then Rachel would have to reconsider their relationship.

Rachel had always been clear about love and future marriage.

At General Hospital, Amelia entered the department and put on a white coat before diving into her work.

"Ms. Davis, the hospital is short-staffed, so I need you to follow the ambulance out on a call. The location is Hastings Manor."

When Amelia heard " Hastings Manor," her expression immediately became solemn and serious.

"What's the situation with the patient?"

She was worried that something had happened to Brittany, her expression heavy.

She walked quickly toward the ambulance as she spoke.

Her colleague answered immediately.

"The patient has a severe stomach illness and drank a lot of alcohol last night due to networking. Preliminary assessment suggests it could be a stomach perforation."

Amelia breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing the description, then thought of Frederick's cold expression and paused for a few seconds.

Three years ago, when she left Kasfee, Frederick was still in good health.

It shouldn't be him with the problem.

Perhaps it was the staff.

The ambulance drove into Hastings Manor.

Amelia and her colleague carried the stretcher into Hastings Manor.

Brittany and Tom were anxiously waiting in the living room.

Frederick had already been helped to sit on the couch.

Earlier, when he was going downstairs to go to work, he fainted at the staircase.

Brittany and the others were startled by the commotion.

They were unsure what Frederick's problem was, so they could only call for emergency help.

Frederick was slightly regaining his senses, but his stomach was in severe pain. He frowned tightly, his expression dark and difficult.

Seeing Brittany's worried face, he endured the pain and spoke. "I'm fine, don't worry."

"Stop talking, let the doctor examine you," Brittany said anxiously. When she saw the paramedics coming in, she quickly asked them to check on Frederick.

Wearing a mask and a white coat, Amelia was in such a hurry that Brittany didn't recognize her for a moment.

Frederick, on the other hand, immediately noticed Amelia as soon as she entered the room.

When he saw Amelia's eyes, his gaze paused for a moment.

Suddenly, his stomach spasmed and he groaned in pain.

Amelia quickly walked over, bent down to check his condition, and helped him lay down on the stretcher bed.

Frederick glanced at her with his deep, penetrating eyes, finding comfort in the faint, delicate fragrance that emanated from her.

He was soon laid onto the stretcher and swiftly transported onto the ambulance.

Brittany recognized Amelia's voice and wheeled herself out, urging Tom to quickly follow in the car.

Upon arriving at the hospital, Amelia arranged for Frederick to undergo examinations. Amelia's expression turned grave as she read the examination report, indicating serious stomach problems in Frederick.

In just three years, Frederick's stomach had been ravaged to such an extent.

She furrowed her brows tightly, first ensuring that Frederick settled into his hospital room before sending over some medication.

Walking to the entrance of Frederick's room, she overheard Brittany's low, accusatory voice and stepped inside.

Upon seeing Amelia, Brittany wiped away her tears.

"Amelia, thank you for your hard work."

Amelia smiled gently and walked over to Brittany, patting her shoulder to soothe her emotions.

"Grandma, you don't have to be so polite with me. And don't worry, with some proper care, Mr. Hastings will be able to recover to his previous condition."

Upon hearing Amelia's words, Brittany felt somewhat relieved.

She held Amelia's hand tightly, glanced at Frederick, and spoke with a heavy voice.

"Ever since you left Kasfee, he has been..."

Upon hearing Brittany's words, Frederick furrowed his brows slightly and interrupted.

"Grandma, you should go back. I want to rest for a while."

Brittany furrowed her brows, looking at him. "With you in this state, how can I feel at ease going back?"

"Go home and rest." Frederick withdrew his gaze, closed his eyes, and sighed, "You're too noisy."

Amelia hesitated, looking at the slightly pale man lying on the hospital bed, feeling an inexplicable sense of loss in her heart. She inwardly sighed, suppressing her discomfort, and softly spoke to Brittany.

"Grandma, I need to go attend to some matters. If you have any questions, you can find me in my office."

Brittany nodded.

Amelia pursed her lips, took a step out of Frederick's room, and cast a glance at him. It was evident that he had no desire to see her.

Ever since leaving Hastings Manor, Frederick had deliberately avoided making eye contact with her.

Seeing his attitude now, Amelia wasn't surprised. She quickly restored her mood and immersed herself in her work.

All of Amelia's colleagues in the emergency department were busy, so even though everyone knew about the subtle relationship between Amelia and Frederick, no one had the time to spill the tea or ask Amelia about the situation.

After Amelia left, Frederick slowly opened his eyes.

He lifted his eyelids and glanced at the entrance of the ward, quickly retracting his gaze and asking Tom, "How long do I need to stay?"

Tom didn't know how to answer and looked at Brittany.

Brittany looked at Frederick with a serious expression and said, "This time, don't think about running away. Wait until your condition stabilizes before leaving the hospital. Leave the company matters to Felix for now. Take your medicine."

Upon hearing Brittany's words, Tom prepared the medicine that Amelia had brought earlier and handed it to Frederick.

Frederick took it and put the medicine in his mouth. It was very bitter, causing him to frown immediately.

Seeing that he didn't make a fuss about leaving, Brittany breathed a sigh of relief and hoped that he and Amelia could repair their relationship during this time.
