Chapter 272 Can We Have a Little Red Wine Today?

Felix saw Frederick and Amelia coming out of the building together and quickly drove the car to the entrance.

Earlier, when Felix was planning to delay the rescue of the maintenance personnel, he ran into Mr. Montgomery coming out of the elevator. Mr. Montgomery looked fine. His overall demeanor was just as it had been before.

Mr. Montgomery walked ahead, followed by several bodyguards in black suits, and got into the car at the entrance without looking like he was being held hostage.

The Montgomery family's situation was complicated. None of the three sons of Mr. Montgomery were simple characters. It seemed the Montgomery family was really about to change.

After parking the car, Felix got out. He hadn't managed to create an opportunity for Frederick and Amelia to be alone in the elevator, and he felt a bit guilty, so his attitude became even more respectful.

Felix looked up at Frederick and immediately noticed the cut on Frederick's lip.

"Mr. Hastings, your mouth..." Felix didn't finish his sentence, immediately realizing that Frederick might have been bitten while forcefully kissing Amelia in the elevator.

He stopped talking but couldn't help but think that Frederick might not have just been bitten but also slapped, as that was a common reaction from girls.

While Felix was imagining this, Amelia softly asked Frederick a question. "What do you want to eat?"

Frederick's thin lips curved slightly, and he said gently, "As long as you're treating, anything is fine."

Amelia fell silent.

Since Anna was born, Amelia rarely ate out.

She couldn't name a single good restaurant in Kasfee. With Frederick's carefree attitude, she couldn't decide where to take him.

She pondered for a moment, then finally uttered, "Then let's go to the restaurant you usually go to."

Frederick was quite picky about food, so going to his usual restaurant would be a safe bet.

Frederick nodded. "Okay."

Felix, seeing the harmonious interaction between the two, was utterly confused.

But he quickly regained his composure, handed the car keys to Frederick, and said lightly. "Mr. Hastings, I'd like to ask for some time off. I have some personal matters to attend to."

The opportunity for Ms. Davis and Mr. Hastings to be alone and get along was rare. Felix didn't want to be a third wheel.

Frederick nodded slightly, took the car keys from Felix, and said indifferently, "Go ahead."

"Thank you, Mr. Hastings." After thanking him, Felix glanced at the back seat door he had opened for Frederick and Amelia earlier, quickly closed it, and then awkwardly opened the front passenger door. "Ms. Davis, please."

Amelia nodded slightly and bent down to get into the front passenger seat.

Felix quickly closed the door, turned to Frederick, and said, "Mr. Hastings, I wish you and Ms. Davis a pleasant meal."

Frederick responded with a nod, walked around the front of the car, and got in to drive.

Felix stood there, watching Frederick drive away with Amelia, a big smile on his face, feeling happier than if he were in a relationship himself.

Watching couples in love was so delightful.

Tina had gone to the restroom due to a stomachache and returned to see Felix standing at the entrance of the building with a silly grin.

As Tina wiped her hands, she walked over and asked, "Did you win the lottery? Why are you so happy?"

Hearing Tina's voice, Felix slightly restrained his smile. He replied, "Something like that."

If Mr. Hastings was happy, then he was pleased. When Mr. Hastings was delighted, he rewarded him, which was no different from winning the lottery.

Tina raised an eyebrow, glanced at the time, and then looked inside the building.

She asked in confusion, "Mr. Hastings and Ms. Davis have been inside for a while. Could they have encountered some other problem?"

Hearing this, Felix fell silent for a moment and awkwardly replied, "Mr. Hastings has already invited Ms. Davis away."

Tina exclaimed, "What?"

Felix pointed to the road ahead, "They just left."

Tina fell silent.

Well, Amelia had forgotten her.

After fastening her seatbelt, Amelia took out her phone and messaged Rachel to let her know she was safe.

After sending the message, Amelia suddenly remembered that Tina had come with her to the Montgomery family.

Amelia quickly found Tina in her contacts and sent an apologetic message.

Amelia: [Tina, I'm sorry. I left in Frederick's car. I really apologize for forgetting to tell you. Sorry, I didn't mean to forget you.]

Tina quickly replied.

Tina: [It's okay, Ms. Davis. Felix already told me, and we're on our way back now.]

After replying to Amelia, Tina glanced at Felix, who was curiously looking around the car's interior. Seeing his hand reaching for a hanging ornament, Tina said unceremoniously. "If you dare touch anything, I'll kick you out of the car."

Felix awkwardly withdrew his hand and sat properly in the front passenger seat.

He remembered when Tina first started working for Rachel. She was a soft and cute girl. In just a few years, Rachel had transformed her.

Rachel was such a strong woman that Sebastian couldn't handle her. He couldn't project his protective instincts onto Rachel, which was why he felt sympathy for Clara's situation.

A man suitable for Rachel had to either be stronger than her or put aside his male pride and make everything revolve around her.

However, Sebastian was neither stronger than Rachel nor able to set aside his male pride completely.

Frederick took Amelia to a Western restaurant.

The restaurant manager immediately recognized Frederick and personally greeted them, courteously leading them to the elevator.

Amelia quietly followed Frederick, occasionally receiving curious glances.

Just standing next to Frederick attracted strangers, something Amelia had gotten used to.

She calmly glanced at the restaurant's decor, which indicated high prices from the inside out.

They arrived at a private room on the second floor.

The private room had a vintage French decor, with flowers and candle holders on the table.

As soon as they entered, the restaurant staff lit the candles, instantly creating a romantic atmosphere.

Amelia glanced sideways at Frederick, her clear eyes showing a hint of curiosity.

'Is this the restaurant Frederick frequents?' Amelia thought.

She had grown up in Kasfee and didn't know there was such a love-styled restaurant there.

Frederick walked to the table and pulled out a chair.

Amelia lightly pressed her lips together and sat down.

The manager handed menus to both Amelia and Frederick.

Amelia glanced at the menu, noting that even a simple dish would cost an average family half a month's living expenses.

She ordered a moderately priced steak. Just as she closed the menu, she saw Frederick across from her look up and ask. "I haven't had a drink in a long time. Can I have a little red wine today?"

His eyes were filled with affection as he quietly waited for her answer.

The restaurant manager also glanced at Amelia a few more times.

Looking into his eyes, Amelia felt a slight stir in her heart and nodded. "Okay."

As long as it was not excessive drinking, a little bit was fine.

Frederick nodded and turned to the restaurant manager, "Bring out your 1974 Romanée-Conti."

The most beautiful flowers, the warmest candlelight, and the most expensive wine were fitting for his date with Amelia tonight.
