Chapter 193 Cooperate with the Examination
Amelia completely ignored his temper and looked at the young nurse, saying, "Take his temperature again and then send him to the examination room. I'll inform the doctor there."
The nurse nodded.
Amelia glanced at the man on the hospital bed and left the room.
The nurse took Walter to the examination room.
After the examination, the nurse walked into Amelia's office, looking quite tired.
The nurse said, "Walter smashed some equipment in the examination room, claiming that the doctor hurt him. We had to convince him to cooperate with the examination."
Amelia remained calm. "Just make him compensate for the damages. Has anyone from his family arrived?"
He had an arrogant and domineering personality at 21 years old, which meant he must have been pampered by his family since childhood and never faced any hardships.
The nurse shook her head. "No."
The doctor in the examination room had already sent Walter's examination report to Amelia's computer.
Amelia started writing a prescription as she looked at the report on the computer.
Before the infusion, one should not have an empty stomach. Amelia took out a bottle of milk from the drawer, checked the expiration date, and found it was still good.
Walter had completely calmed down after causing a commotion in the examination room.
Amelia walked over and placed the milk by his bed, then briefed him on his examination report.
Walter remained silent throughout.
Amelia said, "Call your family so they can come take care of you. You have a fractured coccyx and must rest lying on your side as you shouldn’t move."
Walter did not react or respond to Amelia's words.
Amelia didn't pursue the topic further and calmly said, "I've warmed up the milk for you. Drink it before the infusion and medication."
Walter let out a soft grunt and finally spoke up. "I won't eat what you give me. I'm afraid you might poison me."
"It seems like you've done this kind of thing a lot in bars," Amelia remarked casually.
Walter was taken aback by her words and choked a bit. "I’ve never done anything like that. Last night, Ruth mentioned that you had been drugged and needed help, so I went to see you."
As Walter spoke, his voice gradually lowered.
Amelia's gaze narrowed slightly, unsurprised by Walter's words.
"Are you close with Ruth?" she asked casually.
At that moment, the nurse handed Amelia a paper copy of the examination report.
Amelia took the report and started going through it.
Walter snorted. "I'm a VIP customer at that bar. Ruth has to show me sufficient respect for Jesse's performance."
Ruth had some good resources before, which had benefited him quite a bit.
So he had believed what she said last night.
"Do you have a grudge against Ruth?" Walter asked.
Amelia clearly hadn’t been drugged last night. It was evident that Ruth had intentionally set him up to take advantage of Amelia.
He couldn't help but think about how he had been last night. If it weren't for Frederick, he would have lost his composure for sure.
If he had really assaulted Amelia, he wouldn't be in the hospital now; he'd probably be at the police station.
Ruth had not only wanted to harm Amelia, she had also wanted to get him into trouble.
As Walter thought about that, he gritted his teeth and thought to himself, 'That despicable Ruth.'
Amelia calmly replied, "I have no grudge against her."
Walter said, "Then why is she causing trouble for you?"
Amelia placed the examination report on the cabinet in Walter's room, pondered for a moment, and replied, "Perhaps she’s jealous of my looks?"
Walter fell silent.
"You have a clear understanding of yourself," Walter remarked.
Without continuing the conversation, Amelia left Walter's room after placing the report down, offering a few instructions before departing.
As soon as she left, Walter seemed to lose all his energy and lay on the bed in silence.
At noon, Amelia returned from the outpatient department and passed Walter's room, hearing a sobbing sound coming from inside.
"Walter, you need to understand. I can't leave right now. Your little brother is still young, and I can't come to take care of you. I've paid your medical expenses and hired a top-notch caregiver for you. You like pretty girls, right? This caregiver is around your age and will take care of you until you're discharged."
Soon, the sounds of Walter's anger echoed from the room. "Get out. I don't need anyone to take care of me."
This was followed by the sound of something being shattered.
With a mother like that, it was no wonder Walter had a terrible personality.
Amelia paused. She had just bandaged Walter earlier in the morning, and if he moved too much now, she would have to redo the bandages.
She didn't like Walter and didn't want him to stay in the hospital for too long.
She stopped at the door of the room and knocked.
A woman's voice came from inside the room. "Come in."
Amelia entered and introduced herself. "Hello, I'm Walter's attending physician."
The elegant woman standing by Walter's bed wiped away a tear from her eye and then said to Walter, "I'll leave now and come back to see you another day."
Walter remained silent, offering no response.
The woman sighed lightly and eventually left without even asking Amelia about Walter's condition.
Amelia was puzzled. She couldn’t quite understand how a mother could not love her child.
After the woman left, Walter vented his frustration.
He threw things and pulled out the needles from his body.
Amelia stood at the door, watching him, waiting for his outburst to subside. When he finally calmed down, she stepped in and reinserted the needles, checking his body.
"Get out," Walter said in a low, heavy tone, displeased .
Amelia ignored his tone and proceeded to rebandage his wounds.
Walter muttered, "I told you to get out. Can't you hear me?"
Amelia finished rebandaging his wound and casually remarked, "This is a hospital. It’s my territory. If anyone should leave, it should be you."
Walter was taken aback.
Amelia tied a knot in the bandage, glanced at him, and said, "Get well soon, and then you can leave the hospital."
Walter was clearly surprised by Amelia's response. After a moment of shock, he fell silent.
Nicole invited Amelia to the cafeteria. After lunch, Amelia brought back a meal for Walter.
She placed the lunch on Walter's table, but he didn't even say thank you.
In the afternoon, Amelia checked on Walter before leaving work and noticed the untouched meal in the trash.
The food in the container had hardly been eaten. He had only had one bottle of milk all day.
After her examination, Amelia left a cafeteria card on his bedside table.
The hospital cafeteria offered meal delivery services.
As she was about to leave, Walter's voice, filled with frustration, rang out. "My phone is broken, and I can't make any calls."
"It's none of my concern," Amelia replied.
Walter fell silent.
"You shouldn’t be seeking help with this attitude," Amelia added.
Walter's expression was sullen.
Amelia walked out of his room with her hands in her pockets.
She was just a few steps away when she heard Walter's slightly irritable voice. "Could you please help me make a meal order? And I'm sorry about last night."
His voice had grown softer, and the words "I'm sorry" sounded as feeble as a mosquito's buzz.
