Chapter 348 Their Goals Align
After dinner at Hastings Manor, Frederick took Amelia and Anna home.
Anna had only napped briefly in the car at noon, but she was full of energy once they reached Frederick's office. Now, she fell asleep shortly after getting into the car.
Frederick was driving, occasionally glancing at the back seat. He saw Amelia holding Anna with a gentle expression and couldn't help but smile.
"Anna's already asleep. Why don't we just head back to Spring Villa?" Frederick suggested softly. It was closer than the Davis Manor.
Amelia gently shook her head. "No, let's go back."
Frederick felt a bit disappointed but didn't push it, continuing to drive toward the Davis Manor.
When they arrived, Frederick noticed Sebastian's car parked at the entrance, his eyes narrowing slightly. He parked next to it and got out to open the door for Amelia.
Amelia, holding Anna, bent down to get out of the car. Sebastian also got out of his car at that moment.
Amelia's face darkened as she saw Sebastian. His image had greatly diminished in her mind recently, and seeing him now only annoyed her. She couldn't understand why he was so contradictory—targeting Rachel but wanting to be with her.
Standing beside Frederick with Anna in her arms, Amelia took a deep breath and said, "Mr. Kingsley, Rachel won't see you. You should leave."
Sebastian's expression didn't change. He handed an envelope to Amelia. "I know she won't see me, so please give this to her."
Amelia glanced at the envelope but didn't take it, stepping back with Anna in her arms.
Sebastian frowned slightly. "Please, help me..."
Before he could finish, Frederick took the envelope from his hand. "She doesn't even want to see you. Do you think she'll read your letter?"
Sebastian's eyes darkened. "Just give it to her. Whether she reads it or not is up to her."
Frederick glanced at him. "I warned you not to use the Riverfront Estate against her."
Sebastian looked at Amelia, hesitating to speak.
Amelia, seeing this, knew Sebastian had something to say to Frederick alone. Her eyes cooled, and not wanting to talk to Sebastian, she glanced at Frederick. "I'll take Anna inside first."
Frederick nodded. "Okay."
Amelia walked into the Davis Manor with Anna, not even sparing a glance at Sebastian as she passed by. She still remembered how Sebastian had raised his hand to hit Rachel at Sunshine Golf Manor.
After Amelia entered the Davis Manor, Sebastian said to Frederick, "This is the last time I'll lower myself in front of her. Tell Rachel that if she still values our relationship, she should calm down and talk to me."
Frederick looked at the envelope in his hand. "Before you say that, you need to be sure you can really let Rachel go."
Sebastian's hand clenched tightly at his side. After a few seconds of silence, he said angrily, "She's just a woman. It's not that hard to move on!"
Seeing his state, Frederick didn't offer any more advice.
Sebastian, noticing Frederick's silence, added, "I said I can move on, and I will."
Frederick responded indifferently, "I didn't say you couldn't."
Sebastian was momentarily speechless, then said seriously, "This time, if she doesn't contact me, I won't come looking for her again."
With that, Sebastian turned and got back into his car. Shortly after, he started the car and left the Davis Manor.
Frederick glanced at the envelope in his hand, sighed lightly, and walked into the Davis Manor.
Rachel had returned to the Davis Manor today. Since breaking up with Sebastian, she rarely stayed elsewhere.
When Frederick entered, Rachel was coming downstairs with a cup of water. Seeing Frederick, her expression didn't change much. "Amelia is upstairs bathing Anna," she said calmly.
She then noticed the envelope in Frederick's hand, a subtle emotion flashing in her eyes before quickly disappearing.
As Rachel came downstairs, Frederick handed her the envelope. "Sebastian asked me to give this to you."
Rachel sneered, taking the envelope. It was identical to the one Sebastian had used for his first love letter to her. She glanced at it, then casually tossed it into the trash can.
"Did he say anything else?" she asked indifferently, walking to the water dispenser to fill her cup, her attitude lazy and unconcerned.
"You've already thrown the letter away. Does it matter what he said?" Frederick glanced at the envelope in the trash can.
Rachel sipped her water, swallowed, and said softly, "It's quite important. I want to hear what harsh words he had to say."
After dating for so many years, Rachel didn't fully understand Sebastian's character, but she knew him well enough. However, his recent actions had truly surprised her.
First, he had tried to hit her in anger at Sunshine Golf Manor. Then, he had betrayed her with the Riverfront Estate. Now, he was using the same envelope from his first love letter to try to win her back.
If those two unexpected events hadn't happened, she might have been moved by the envelope. But now, her eyes were devoid of emotion, and she felt that his actions had tainted their beautiful memories.
"He wants you to contact him after reading the letter," Frederick replied, not relaying Sebastian's harsh words to Rachel.
Rachel's expression remained cold, her fingers tapping lightly on her cup. "He's used up his three chances with me," she said coolly.
With that, she headed upstairs, pausing on the second floor to say, "I heard someone introduced him to a well-matched marriage prospect. He should seize the opportunity. Otherwise, he might not be able to deal with me on his own. Cynthia contacted me today, and the Kingsley family is also interested in working with me. They all have the same goal."
They all wanted to bring Sebastian down from his current position.
After saying this, Rachel sneered and added, "I'm not that easy to defeat."
