Chapter 301 Become Amelia's Husband Again
Amelia rarely went to these events and felt a bit nervous. Frederick noticed and wrapped his arm around her waist, whispering, "Don't worry. I've got this. Just stick with me. Mingling isn't that bad."
His words calmed her down.
When they got to the booth, Frederick's friends were already there. He introduced them to Amelia.
She quickly learned their names and their dates, except for Arnold, who came alone.
Alexander Williams from Silvercrest was with his girlfriend, Abigail Jones, also from Silvercrest.
Jackie Miller from Frostpeak Haven brought his girlfriend, Alexis Moore, also from Frostpeak Haven.
Michael Garcia from Seaspring Valley City was with his wife, Addison Martinez, a famous actress. Even Amelia, who didn't follow entertainment news, knew of her. Many young nurses in Amelia's department were fans of Addison.
However, Addison and Michael seemed to be in a tiff, standing far apart.
Frederick led Amelia to their seats, and after some small talk, everyone got more comfortable.
Addison wasn't great at golf, so she hired a coach. The coach was very detailed, and the lessons involved some physical contact. Amelia noticed Michael glancing at Addison with a hint of displeasure while talking to Frederick.
Arnold asked Amelia, "Mrs. Hastings, need a coach?"
Amelia was about to agree when Frederick grabbed her hand and said, "No need, I'll teach her."
The staff brought over Frederick's clubs and a new set he had custom-made for Amelia, which was lighter, so she wouldn't get tired.
Frederick started teaching her how to grip and swing, his hand covering hers. The warmth made her palm sweat.
After showing her the basics, he let her try on her own. As she swung, he placed his hand on her waist and said, "Use your waist for power."
After a few tries, Amelia's waist felt tired. She rubbed it and said, "My waist isn't strong enough."
Frederick massaged her waist and said, "It's okay, mine is."
Arnold and the others chuckled behind them.
Amelia felt embarrassed, her cheeks turning red, and shot Frederick a disapproving look. Frederick just smiled.
When Rachel arrived, she saw Frederick teaching Amelia golf. Seeing him so gentle and attentive, Rachel raised an eyebrow and looked away disdainfully.
Arnold noticed Rachel and quickly greeted her. "Ms. Davis, have a seat. Once they're done, we'll head to the restaurant and then hit the course."
Rachel nodded, "Alright."
Addison handed her club to a staff member and walked over to chat with Rachel. Hearing Rachel's voice, Amelia also turned and called out softly, "Rachel."
Rachel nodded, "Focus on your practice."
Amelia nodded and continued swinging. The others looked surprised when Amelia called Rachel by her first name, suspecting a connection.
Arnold asked, "Are Ms. Davis and Mrs. Hastings sisters?"
Rachel raised an eyebrow at Frederick. Mrs. Hastings? Was that how Frederick introduced Amelia?
Frederick stayed calm, but Amelia felt anxious about their kinship being found out, thinking those people could use it against them. She coughed lightly, reminding Rachel.
Rachel smirked, realizing Frederick had fooled Amelia. The Davis Group and the Hastings Group had been collaborating for years, and they all knew each other well. But Frederick and Amelia's marriage was a secret, and Rachel had never mentioned it.
Rachel glanced at Frederick holding Amelia's waist and smiled coldly. "Yes, we are sisters."
Addison looked at Amelia and Rachel, saying softly, "No wonder I thought Mrs. Hastings looked a bit like you."
Rachel smiled calmly, "She's not into business, so she rarely shows up. I never had the chance to introduce her. I didn't expect Mr. Hastings to bring her today."
Rachel thought this was the first time Frederick had brought Amelia into this circle. Unlike his childhood friends, Arnold and the others had business dealings with Frederick and didn't know about Amber.
Frederick truly wanted to integrate Amelia into his life. Rachel scoffed inwardly, thinking Frederick's treatment of Amelia as his wife was long overdue. If he wanted to be her husband again, he had a tough hurdle to overcome.
