Chapter 337 Not Dad

Sebastian and Rachel were officially enemies now.

Their families used to work together, but Rachel told her team to stop all projects.

Halting projects with the Kingsley Group also hit the Davis Group hard, causing chaos in the company.

People close to both families were now watching closely.

If the Kingsley and Davis families ended up in a serious conflict, they'd have to pick a side.

Frederick now knew Anna's identity, and it seemed like the right moment.

Rachel had heard from Susan in the car that Frederick had started suspecting Anna's identity after talking to Charles.

She wasn't sure if Charles was just talking offhand or if he really knew something.

If Charles knew so much about Amelia, how much did he know about her? Rachel wondered, 'Has he already dug into the Davis family?'

This made Rachel feel scared and insecure.

She knew nothing about Charles. Over the years, because of Layla, she had rarely paid attention to the Wright family.

If it weren't for Shirley showing up, she wouldn't have noticed Charles.

But even after watching for a while, Rachel couldn't figure out anything from Shirley.

Shirley's eyes always seemed clueless, and Rachel couldn't tell if it was just an act.

Rachel felt uneasy, unable to guess what Charles might be planning.

Meanwhile, Amelia walked into Davis Manor.

Vincent was on the floor, playing with building blocks with Anna. When he saw Amelia, he looked up and asked, "Did you come back alone?"

Earlier, Rachel had mentioned that Frederick might have guessed Anna's identity. Vincent felt nervous but also relieved.

He had seen Frederick's behavior toward Anna, which was like a good father's. As a man, Vincent wanted to tell him the truth.

But he had to consider Amelia's feelings, so it wasn't easy to keep it a secret.

Now that Frederick had figured it out, Vincent felt relieved.

Just as Amelia was about to answer Vincent, Frederick's voice came from behind her. "Mr. Davis, I came back too."

Amelia frowned, elbowing Frederick and whispering, "Remember your role; you can't be an obvious secret lover!"

Vincent smiled, "It's good you came back together."

Frederick didn't look embarrassed at all. He changed his shoes, sat next to Anna, and pulled her into his arms like he owned the place.

Amelia watched Frederick for a few seconds, sighed, changed her shoes, and sat on the sofa.

Anna sat on Frederick's lap, still holding her building blocks. She tilted her head and sweetly called out, "Uncle Frederick."

Frederick tightened his grip on Anna, looking confident. "Anna, you can't call me Uncle Frederick anymore. You have to call me Dad. I'm your dad, understand?"

Anna's bright eyes darted between Amelia and Frederick. She leaned in close to Frederick's ear and whispered, "Only when you get married are you a family. Only then can I call you Dad."

Frederick was momentarily speechless.

He looked up at Amelia, hoping she'd help explain.

Amelia just glanced at him indifferently and then looked away.

"So, Uncle Frederick, when are you going to marry Mommy?" Anna asked, her eyes full of expectation.

Frederick looked at Amelia, his eyes showing a bit of grievance, as if asking when they'd get married.

But Amelia's gaze was fixed on the TV, not looking at him at all.

Seeing Frederick looking at Amelia, Anna understood. It seemed her mommy didn't want to marry Uncle Frederick.

Anna remembered Vincent saying that marriage was a matter for two people, and both must be willing.

So, she tilted her head and pushed Frederick. She pouted, "Not married, you're Uncle Frederick. Married, you're Dad."

Frederick was quite upset by Anna's words. When he looked to Amelia for help, she didn't even glance at him.

Vincent reached out and ruffled Anna's hair, chuckling softly. "Anna is very smart."

Frederick nodded in agreement. "Maybe she inherited it from me."

Vincent cocked an eyebrow and glanced at Frederick, his eyes clearly saying, 'How can you be so shameless?'

Frederick didn't mind Vincent's look at all. He leaned closer to Anna and coaxed, "Even if we're not married, I'm still Dad."

Anna shook her head firmly. "You're Uncle Frederick."

Vincent chuckled, stood up from the floor, and looked at Amelia. "Amelia, come to the study for a moment."

Amelia nodded, got up from the sofa, and walked to the study.

"Now that Frederick knows Anna's identity, if you want to remarry him, I won't stop you," he said.

Vincent was satisfied with Frederick's behavior lately and wouldn't stop them if it meant giving Anna a complete family.

Amelia shook her head. "Dad, marriage is a big deal. I was too hasty when I married him before, and now I want to think it over carefully."

Seeing the calm look in Amelia's eyes, Vincent finally nodded.

When they came out of the study, Anna had completely discouraged Frederick, and he looked somewhat dejected.

He had tried to coax Anna for a long time, but she still wouldn't call him "Dad."
