Chapter 96 Frederick Meets Amelia at the Obstetrician's Office
Frederick coldly returned the phone to Felix.
Felix glanced at the rearview mirror. Frederick, sitting in the back seat, was staring out the window with a gloomy expression, lost in thought. Seeing his indifferent and incomprehensible expression, Felix knew that he needed to be cautious today.
He parked the car in the garage. Frederick opened the car door and got out of the car.
Felix followed closely behind Frederick. When they were about to get on the elevator, Felix answered a client's phone call, so he stopped in his tracks.
Frederick got on the elevator immediately.
After ending the call, Felix saw that his phone screen still showed Amelia's Instagram page.
Thinking about Frederick's recent mood, Felix immediately understood that Amelia might have blocked Frederick.
Divorced women can be so casually cold-hearted and cruel.
Amelia, feeling good, went downstairs after freshening up. She went to the backyard and cut a few roses to put in a vase.
Vincent, taking on the role of a photographer, took several photos of Amelia.
Vincent had been captivated by the short video app developed by the Davis Group recently, so he had become addicted to it as a middle-aged person.
Every day, he would film videos of himself cooking and photos of Amelia, and upload them to his account. His number of followers quickly increased.
After Vincent posted the video, Amelia approached. She saw that many people had already liked, saved, and commented on Vincent's video shortly after it was posted.
However, most of the comments were teasing comments about wanting to become Vincent's son-in-law.
Vincent smiled happily after watching it.
Seeing that Vincent's mental state had indeed improved a lot recently, Amelia also smiled and softly said, "Can you send me the photos you just took?"
It had been a while since she had updated her status. Even though she was divorced, she should still enjoy life.
Vincent nodded and immediately sent the photos to Amelia.
"I'm going to Rachel's office later. I'm going to learn how to manage my own video account."
Amelia raised an eyebrow. Seeing how dedicated Vincent was to this matter, she smiled and said, "Alright, I can go with you. I'm feeling bored too."
Vincent nodded.
At the Hastings Group, Felix was the first to see Amelia's Instagram post after she shared it.
He opened Amelia's photo and looked at it for a while, hesitating about whether to show this post to Frederick.
After the divorce, Amelia seemed to be different from before.
Her smile was gentle. When she looked into the camera, she inexplicably appeared to be a girl in her early twenties.
Seeing Felix sitting in his office chair, staring at his phone in a daze, Frederick walked over.
Frederick placed a problematic document on Felix's desk. Felix was startled by his action and his phone fell onto the desk.
Frederick glanced and saw Amelia's photo on Felix's phone screen. His expression immediately turned cold.
Felix paused for a moment. Looking at Frederick's gaze as if he was looking at a rival, he quickly explained, "Mr. Hastings, please don't misunderstand. I just saw Ms. Davis' recent update, so I was curious and clicked on it. I was planning to tell you."
Frederick's gaze remained icy. "What were you going to tell me?"
Felix felt a bit embarrassed. He couldn't actually tell Frederick that he had been blocked by Amelia, could he?
With a cold face, Frederick withdrew his gaze from Felix and looked at Felix's phone. The screen had already locked due to the auto-lock timer.
Frederick picked up the phone, his expression indifferent.
"Unlock it."
Felix didn't dare to refuse. He immediately picked up the phone and unlocked it, then handed it to Frederick.
As Frederick scrolled through the photos of Amelia, he walked out of Felix's office.
Looking at the phone taken away by Frederick, Felix felt a sense of injustice. Without his phone, he couldn't entertain himself during work.
It was simply too unbearable for him.
After handling the problematic document, Felix brought it to Frederick's office. Frederick still held Felix's phone.
Only when Felix's phone beeped a low battery warning did Frederick return it to him. Felix took the phone back into his hands and felt as if he had regained a treasure. After leaving Frederick's office, Felix hurriedly went to charge his phone.
A client invited Frederick to dinner and sent the invitation to Felix's phone, so Felix forwarded it to Frederick.
After opening Frederick's chat box, Felix discovered that Frederick had actually forwarded all of Amelia's Instagram photos to himself.
The chat box between Felix and Frederick was filled with Amelia's photos.
Among them were Amelia's recent photos as well as ones from a long time ago.
Felix discreetly glanced at Frederick sitting in the office, who was engrossed in looking at his phone. He was so intense about it, as though he wanted to pull Amelia out of his phone.
Looking at Frederick like that, Felix could tell that he was captivated by Amelia.
The end of the workday arrived.
Frederick walked out of his office. Felix approached him.
"Mr. Hastings, are you still going to Davis Manor today?"
Upon hearing Felix's question, Frederick hesitated for a moment, before finally answering in a low voice, "No."
Felix was taken aback. What was going on now?
Owing to the accident, Amelia missed her check-up appointment with Nicole.
Tonight, Nicole switched shifts with a colleague for Amelia's sake. As soon as it turned dark, Amelia headed to General Hospital.
She didn't see Frederick getting off at the corner when she left.
Seeing Amelia getting into her car and leaving, Frederick cast a glance at the gift box in his hand. He sighed and returned to his car.
He followed the Davis family's car all the way. He saw Carl park the car at the entrance of General Hospital and watched as Amelia got out and quickly entered the hospital.
After Amelia entered the hospital, she went to Nicole's office, and the two of them then proceeded to the obstetrics department for the check-up.
Nicole was conducting the check-up for Amelia, examining the development of the fetus.
"The fetal image is stable, no problems at all."
Amelia nodded lightly. Glancing at the embryo-like child on the machine, Amelia whispered, "If the fetus remains stable, I plan on flying to Fondaniss in three days."
Nicole nodded. "No problem. You've really decided to leave then?"
Amelia nodded. "Yes, I've put it off for long enough."
As she spoke, Nicole's phone rang. She answered the call.
"Dr. Adams, a patient is having a severe post-operative reaction."
"I'll handle it." Nicole immediately put away her phone, bid farewell to Amelia, and hurriedly left.
Amelia nodded. After tidying up, she walked out of the examination room.
Just as she walked out, she saw Frederick coming toward her from the end of the corridor.
Seeing Nicole leave the examination room in a hurry, Frederick felt worried. He thought something had happened to Amelia, so he immediately walked briskly toward the examination room.
Amelia suddenly froze. Looking at Frederick's anxious strides, she panicked. For a moment, she didn't know how to react.
Her heart beat faster.
