Chapter 284 Be Decisive Like Rachel

Frederick's eyes lingered on the spicy wings in her lunchbox, and Amelia's cheeks turned a bit pink with embarrassment.

She quickly picked up a small piece of a wing for him and said, "These are really spicy. You've got an injury on your hand, so just have a taste and don't overdo it."

Frederick nodded.

As Amelia looked away, she suddenly realized Frederick wasn't wearing the same shirt he had when he went to the hospital that morning.

"Did you take a shower?" she asked.

Frederick nodded. "Yeah, the shirt got dirty, so I took a shower when I changed."

Amelia was quiet for a moment. Knowing how much of a clean freak he was, it kinda made sense.

"Did your hand get wet?" she asked, putting down her fork and reaching for his injured hand.

Frederick obediently extended his hand.

When she felt the damp bandage, her expression turned serious.

"The bandage is wet," she said.

Frederick, seeing her serious look, leaned back casually. "So, what now?"

Amelia let go of his hand, stood up, and fetched the medical kit from his office to re-bandage his wound.

Frederick watched her intently as she worked, his voice low and husky. "Rest in my lounge at noon. Get some proper rest before heading back to the hospital. It's quieter here than the dorms at General Hospital."

Amelia shook her head. "I don't nap at noon, so I won't take up your lounge."

After finishing the bandage, she stood up to leave, but Frederick grabbed her wrist.

"Amelia."

He wanted to explain that his relationship with Amber was a misunderstanding, but the words wouldn't come out. Even if it was a misunderstanding, he and Amber had a history.

Seeing his hesitant look, Amelia's eyes showed a hint of confusion. "What is it?"

Frederick released her hand, his brows relaxing. "I'll be staying at Spring Villa tonight."

Amelia nodded. "Alright, I'll make sure to deliver dinner to Spring Villa on time."

After that, Amelia walked out of Frederick's office, politely greeted the receptionist, and took the elevator downstairs.

When she reached the lobby, Laura, who had received her earlier, was no longer at the front desk.

The other receptionists looked at her with a mix of apprehension, respect, and envy.

Amelia glanced at them and walked out of the Hastings Group office building.

She headed to her car, and just as she opened the door, Amber and Laura approached her.

Amelia glanced at them and bent down to get into the car.

As she was about to close the door, Amber grabbed it. "Ms. Davis, let's talk."

"Talk about what?" Amelia said, picking up her phone and opening Frederick's contact. "Should we call Frederick down and have the three of us talk together?"

Amber's face turned pale, and she looked at Amelia's confident demeanor, gritting her teeth. "We're not talking about Frederick."

Amelia raised an eyebrow. "If it's not about Frederick, what else is there to talk about?"

Amber bit her lip, looked at Amelia, and said seriously, "I heard from Laura that she accidentally offended you at the front desk earlier, and you had the manager fire her. Ms. Davis, we have beef, but you can't involve the innocent. Nowadays, it's hard to find a stable job. Can I apologize on behalf of Laura?"

Amelia smiled, "Ms. Roberts, haven't you bowed down to me enough times already? Besides, I'm not an executive at Hastings Group; I can't decide the fate of their employees. If you want to make a request, you should ask Frederick. Or have you asked him so many times that he doesn't want to deal with you anymore?"

Amber's hand clenched tightly at her side.

Seeing Amelia's arrogance and her belittling of Amber, Laura's face turned ugly, and she quickly pulled Amber back.

Laura sneered, "Amber, let's not bother with her. Let's go directly to Mr. Hastings. Your relationship with Mr. Hastings is so deep that Amelia can't just ruin it!"

Laura pulled Amber's hand back, and Amelia took the opportunity to close the car door.

The security personnel at Hastings Group noticed that Amber and Laura were blocking Amelia, so they quickly approached.

They warned seriously, "Ms. Roberts, please leave immediately, or we won't be polite."

Amber's face stiffened, and she stepped aside.

Amelia started the car, gave Amber a cold glance, and drove back to the hospital.

As soon as Amelia entered her office, Nicole walked in with an angry expression.

She said in a huff, "How can Amber be so shameless? She's like sticky glue!"

Amelia raised an eyebrow, "What did she do to upset you so much?"

Seeing Amelia's clueless expression, Nicole hesitated for a moment but then took out her phone. She explained, "This video has already been taken down, but I recorded it as soon as I saw it."

Nicole opened the video from the underground parking lot and showed it to Amelia.

The video's sound was a bit noisy, but the argument between Amber and Frederick could be vaguely heard.

The person filming was standing too far away, making it hard to hear the details of their quarrel.

The video ended with Amber being pushed away and then rushing back to hug Frederick.

Amelia's expression remained calm throughout, showing no change.

Nicole, on the other hand, was visibly upset when she saw the video.

She sneered, "What on earth is Amber trying to do?! She's so shameless, it's unbelievable."

Amelia lightly pressed her lips together and smiled, "Why are you so worked up? Could it be that you like Frederick?"

Hearing this, Nicole immediately put down her phone and pretended to strangle Amelia. "Say that again, and I'll strangle you."

Amelia chuckled softly. "Then why are you so focused on them? Do you want to be a spectator in their beautiful love story?"

Nicole felt as if she had swallowed a fly after hearing Amelia's words.

She snorted gloomily, "You're right. Why should I care about them? It's hard to find a three-legged toad, but there are plenty of two-legged men. When my birthday comes, I'll set you up with some handsome guys! I'll ask Todd to introduce you to his good friends, and you can take your pick."

Amelia looked up at Nicole, her eyes dim, and slowly said, "Rachel and Sebastian have called off their engagement. Sometimes, I wonder if I should follow Rachel's example and be more decisive with Frederick."
