Chapter 157 He Could Only Indulge Her

Vincent rarely spoke to Frederick in such a serious tone.

Frederick's eyes turned sullen slightly, and then he spoke softly,

"Sorry, Vincent, I didn't consider it well."

Vincent saw Frederick lower his voice, furrowing his brows slightly. He sighed lightly and said, "I wish you success in your project negotiations. Take care of yourself."

"Okay," Frederick responded with a simple word.

"Then I won't delay you any longer. Stay safe," Vincent hung up directly after speaking.

Frederick's hand, holding the phone, tightened slightly, and then he put the phone away.

Paul stood to the side. Seeing a hint of gloom in Frederick's expression, he didn't dare to breathe loudly and just hoped that Frederick would ignore his presence.

The General Hospital couldn't reach Amelia, but Frederick was about to board the plane, so the hospital had to send another doctor to accompany Frederick.

Ralap personally sent the doctor to the airport.

Frederick's eyes turned cold when he saw the doctor Ralap brought.

Paul understood Frederick's intention immediately and intercepted Ralap directly.

"Mr. Zepho, Mr. Hastings no longer needs a doctor to accompany him."

Ralap intended to say something, but seeing Frederick's cold and gloomy face, he swallowed his words, nodded, and apologized softly, "I didn't handle things well. I hope you can speak a few more good words for me in front of Mr. Hastings."

Paul nodded.

Ralap breathed a sigh of relief and left with the doctor.

Amber rushed to the airport on time.

When she saw Ralap at the airport, her expression changed slightly, so she quickened her pace and entered the airport.

Amber saw Frederick sitting on the sofa in the VIP lounge. In the row of seats where Frederick sat, only Paul and Frederick were present.

Frederick, sitting on the sofa, looked cold and difficult to approach, so people around him instinctively kept their distance.

Amber took a deep breath and adjusted her appearance slightly before walking to the empty seat next to Frederick.

She smiled and greeted Frederick.

"Frederick. What a coincidence. Are you also going to Seaspring Valley City today?"

Frederick remained expressionless, glanced at her sideways, and did not respond.

Paul also looked at Amber, his expression somewhat complicated.

"Ms. Roberts, how did you know we were going to Seaspring Valley City?"

Amber hesitated for a moment and didn't know how to respond.

She pursed her lips, smiled awkwardly, and said softly, "I guessed."

Paul didn't say anything more. Frederick also remained silent with a cold expression.

Amber bit her lip.

For the past three years, Frederick had always treated her this way, unwilling to talk to her.

Although she had gotten used to it, she couldn't help but feel a deep sense of loss.

She suppressed her inner discontent, quieted down, and waited to board the plane.

Boarding time arrived. Frederick and Paul stood up and left first.

Seeing Amber following them closely, Paul admired Amber's inner strength.

If it were any other woman being treated so coldly by Frederick, they would have left long ago.

However, in these few years, not only did Amber show no signs of leaving, but she even worked harder to pursue Frederick.

The Davis Manor.
As soon as Amelia woke up, she pulled out her phone and checked it. She rarely put it on silent mode, but this time there were about a dozen missed calls.

Some were from Paul, some from Ralap, and even one from Frederick.

The image of Frederick waiting impatiently at the airport flashed through Amelia's mind, and a slight smile tugged at her lips.

He accompanied Amber to Seaspring Valley City and even wanted to bring her along.

Amelia wondered what Frederick was thinking.

She thought she would act like Amber, pretending not to care.

She chuckled, put away her phone, and got up to wash up in the bathroom.

It was only eight o'clock, and her work started at nine. Without Frederick at the hospital, she had some free time.

After getting ready, she went downstairs.

Vincent and Anna had already had breakfast.

When Susan saw Amelia coming down, she placed the prepared breakfast on the table for her. "This morning, I heard Mr. Hastings seemed to have called Vincent."

Amelia raised an eyebrow at the news, surprised that Frederick had called Vincent's phone.

"What did they talk about?" Amelia asked casually.

Susan whispered, "I rarely hear Vincent speak to Mr. Hastings in such a stern tone. He refused Mr. Hastings on your behalf."

Amelia smiled slightly. "Frederick's mood probably won't be good all day today," as Amelia spoke, she smiled lightly.

Vincent had never treated Frederick with such seriousness before, so it was different this time.

Being such a proud person like Frederick, he naturally wouldn't be pleased.

Susan looked at Amelia's good mood and said softly, "It's not good for you to be like this with Mr. Hastings."

Amelia fell silent.

Vincent's voice came from the living room.

"After all, our two families have many connections."

Amelia looked up at Vincent.

Vincent glanced at Amelia and said gently, "As long as Amelia isn't influenced by him, it's fine. Kasfee is also Amelia's hometown. She can't abandon it because of him."

Amelia's eyes welled up with tears. She was touched by Vincent's words.

Susan sighed softly and nodded in agreement. "Vincent, you are right."

She was just worried that Amelia would be influenced by him.

After all, she had seen how much Amelia liked Frederick in the past.

"As long as Amelia isn't affected, that's enough."

Amelia's lips curved slightly, and when she saw Anna coming in from the yard with a small net bag, any lingering discomfort disappeared completely.

After breakfast and bidding farewell to Anna, she headed to the hospital.

As she had just entered her office, Ralap walked to the door of her office with a solemn expression.

There was a hint of resentment in his eyes. "Ms. Davis, you've put me in a difficult position."

Amelia stood up from her chair, full of apologies. "I'm sorry, Mr. Zepho. I didn't mean to."

Ralap saw Amelia trying to make excuses and quickly stopped her. "Alright, don't say so much. I don't mean to blame you. Next time, if you don't want to go, just tell me."

Amelia smiled awkwardly and quickly promised, "Thank you for not being angry with me."

Ralap helplessly glanced at Amelia. He had no other choice.

Amelia was Brittany's most beloved person, he couldn't offend her. And her medical skills were excellent, so he couldn't scold her either, he could only indulge her.
