Chapter 72 When did she marry Frederick?
Amber saw Frederick and the others from a distance, and after getting out of the taxi, she hurriedly walked toward them.
Not knowing what Rachel and Frederick had said, Frederick glanced at her and then entered the hospital.
Rachel stood at the hospital entrance with a mocking expression as if she was waiting for her.
Amber took a deep breath and walked toward her, suppressing her bitterness and impatience.
"Ms. Rachel, I would like to apologize to Amelia in person."
"I was indeed too impulsive just now, and I have realized my mistake. Please give me another chance. I promise to complete the tasks at hand wholeheartedly." Rachel looked at her with indifference and chuckled softly.
"Are you sincerely apologizing to my sister, or is it because Mr. Hastings is here, and you don't want to ruin the impression he has of you?"
Amber bit her lip. "If it wasn't for you, Ms. Rachel, intentionally trying to embarrass me in front of Frederick, I wouldn't have bumped into Amelia."
Rachel sneered, "So, your neglectful work is also my fault?"
"What exactly have you realized as your mistake?"
Amber was momentarily stopped by Rachel's words and remained silent for a few seconds.
Her hand by her side tightened slightly, and after a while, she spoke softly. "Ms. Rachel, you are making things difficult for me because of my relationship with Frederick."
"You are so clever. Can't you see that compared to me, Frederick seems to care more about your sister?"
Rachel stared quietly at Amber's face for a long time.
Amber noticed Rachel's change of expression and straightened her back slightly. "Actually, Ms. Rachel, I believe you have also noticed."
Rachel looked at her with a slightly victorious posture and replied leisurely, "Just now, Mr. Hastings said that it is only natural for older brothers to take care of their younger sisters. How come you talked nonsense?"
Amber saw that Rachel didn't believe her words and clenched her teeth, "Whether it's nonsense or not, you will find out in the future."
Rachel remained silent.
Amber tilted her head up and walked into the hospital with big steps.
Nicole was tending to Amelia’s ankle.
Because of Amelia’s pregnancy, Nicole could only use ice to apply to her ankle.
Throughout the process, Frederick stood at the door, cold-faced and silent, putting pressure on Nicole.
"Amelia, I'm sorry for causing you injury. I didn't mean to. I hope you can forgive me."
Amber walked to Frederick's side, stopped, and looked at Amelia.
Amelia glanced at her with a calm expression, showing no response.
Amber cautiously looked at Frederick next to her and felt wronged as she saw him staring coldly at Amelia.
"Ms. Adams, I also accidentally hurt my hand. Can you take a look for me?"
She spoke carefully, addressing Nicole but hoping to catch Frederick's attention.
Nicole didn't even lift her head and replied coldly, "Ms. Roberts, you should first go and make an appointment."
Amber's face stiffened.
Amelia seemed to remember something and looked at Amber. "Ms. Roberts, you just got discharged not long ago and rushed to work at Davis Group so eagerly. Now you've fallen again, it's better to have a thorough check-up."
"Although the stitched-up area on the surface has already healed, it may not have recovered as well internally."
"In case of any accidents, it might be difficult for you to conceive in the future."
Amber paused for a moment, not expecting Amelia to care about her health.
"Thank you for your concern, Ms. Davis."
Amelia smiled generously, "You're welcome. After all, I promised before to let you and Mr. Hastings have kids. If you get injured due to not resting well, it would also damage my reputation."
Upon hearing Amelia’s reply, Frederick's face turned cold and severe.
"Ms. Davis is truly compassionate as a doctor."
Amelia smiled and said, "As a doctor, she always remembered her duty."
Frederick snorted coldly and didn't even look at Amber, then turned and walked away.
Amber watched his departing figure and bit her lip, following him.
"Frederick..."
Frederick didn't pause his steps at all and walked straight into the elevator.
In the brief moment when the elevator door closed, Frederick raised his eyelids and looked at her, saying, "Since you've joined the Davis Group, work hard and don't use any underhanded methods."
Amber's body stiffened slightly as she stood frozen in place.
As the elevator doors closed, Frederick's cold gaze lingered in her mind for a long time, unable to dissipate.
Clearly, when she had just returned to the country, Frederick had been very polite to her.
He had agreed to help her with anything she needed.
Why did he suddenly change like this?
Rachel walked out of the other elevator, saw Amber, and said calmly, "Pack up your things this afternoon and report to Sankara Group."
Amber came back to her senses and asked, "Why?"
Rachel smiled and walked up to her, stopping in front of her.
"Weren't you trying to get close to Frederick? Sankara Group is a company collaborated by the Davis Group and the Hastings Group. By going to Sankara Group, you'll have more opportunities to see Frederick."
Amber hesitated for a moment.
Frederick understood her purpose for joining the Davis Group, and Rachel naturally knew as well.
She sent her to Sankara Group just to keep her busy.
But that's okay. She already had enough evidence in her hands.
Once those photos were released, Rachel's extramarital affair would surely cause a stir.
Frederick would definitely divorce her.
Then, she could expose the ambiguous relationship between Amelia and Frederick, eliminating two rivals.
"Alright." Amber agreed.
Rachel smiled lightly, and a calculated glimmer flashed across her beautiful and attractive eyes.
The Davis family.
Susan saw Amelia sitting in a wheelchair, pushed back by Rachel, and her face changed drastically.
"What happened to Miss Amelia?" Susan asked anxiously.
Amelia’s eyes remained calm as she softly replied, "It's nothing. I just accidentally sprained my ankle, and it's swollen. It'll be fine after a few days of rest."
Vincent quickly came out of the house, and his expression turned slightly gloomy upon seeing the scene. "How did it end up like this?" Amelia smiled lightly, "Dad, I'm fine, don't worry."
Seeing her relaxed expression, Vincent frowned.
"If I knew it would turn out like this, I wouldn't have let you go out."
As he spoke, he walked over and took the wheelchair from Rachel's hands, pushing Amelia into the house.
Rachel glanced at the time and said, "I still have work at the company. I'll go back first."
Vincent nodded and looked at Rachel, "Take care of yourself too."
Rachel smiled, "Dad, don't worry, I'll take care of myself."
After speaking, she left the Davis family.
In the afternoon, she received a call from Kimberly, the chief editor of the Adamsite Newspaper.
"I have some news about your marriage with Frederick from the Hastings Group. Weren't you recently in a hot relationship with Sebastian Kingsley? When did you get married to Frederick?"
Rachel coldly smiled. Amber just went to Sankara Group for the report this afternoon and already couldn't wait to cause trouble.
If she didn't fully cooperate with her, it would be a waste of this big drama.
