Chapter 93 Her Pitiful Appearance as if Shedding Pear Blossoms in the Rain

Amelia looked at her pitiful and tearful appearance and smiled indifferently. "Ms. Roberts, it seems like you're making it difficult for yourself by crying."

Wendy looked at Amelia with an unpleasant expression. "It seems like you're implying that you didn't deliberately make it difficult for her."

After hearing this, Laura's face darkened and she scolded her. "Wendy, you're going too far."

Amelia held Laura's hand, her smile gentle. "It's okay, Mrs. Lakoff. Today is your birthday, I won't argue with her. I'll just regard it as a misunderstanding."

Laura angrily glanced at Wendy, who remained dissatisfied.

Amber immediately grabbed Wendy. "Wendy, just stop. It was my accidental collision with Ms. Davis that caused the plate to fall and injure her."

Wendy secretly felt displeased. Taking Laura's feelings into consideration, she could only mutter, "If it weren't for her pretending to help in the kitchen, this wouldn't have happened."

Amber pulled Wendy's hand and whispered, "Let's go clean up the kitchen first."

And so, under Amber's accommodation, the matter came to an end.

Wendy followed Amber into the kitchen and cleaned it up.

Wendy's voice could occasionally be heard in the kitchen, mostly about how Amelia was a troublemaker and deliberately did all this to suppress Amber.

Frederick's face darkened, his eyes filled with anger.

Patrick walked over and spoke a few words to Wendy. Laura put a band-aid on Amelia and her eyes showed a hint of apology.

"Amelia, don't take those words to heart."

Amelia glanced at the band-aid on her finger and softly replied, "It's okay." She then stood up from the couch. "Mrs. Lakoff, it's getting late and I can't help you any further, so I'll be going now."

Laura nodded. Despite the unpleasant incident, she didn't try to persuade Amelia to stay and politely said, "I apologize for the lack of care this time. Next time, I will invite you and Frederick to a more intimate gathering."

Amelia smiled faintly, "I don't know when the next time will be. I'm going abroad to further my studies soon."

Laura looked regretful. Frederick frowned upon hearing the news of Amelia going abroad. Amber and Wendy finished tidying up the kitchen and happened to hear this news.

Amber's eyes welled up with tears as she looked at Amelia in disbelief, thinking, 'In fact, Amelia has already won Frederick's attention, so she doesn't need to go abroad at all. Does her mindset completely differ from when she initially went abroad? Does she think Frederick will wait for her no matter what?'

Amber had witnessed Frederick's heartlessness and indifference. After speculating that Amelia might have such thoughts, she sarcastically thought to herself, 'I really hope Amelia can go abroad soon so I have a chance.'

The reason Amelia was able to attract Frederick's attention was because of her three years of proximity to him. Amber believed that she herself could do what Amelia could do.

"Ms. Davis, do you plan to leave in Frederick's car?" Amber asked Amelia as she was about to leave. Amelia nodded. Frederick had been drinking, so Amelia had to drive his car.

Amber glanced at Frederick and then carefully looked at Amelia. "Ms. Davis, can I hitch a ride with you?" She glanced at the time. "There are no buses at this hour."

Amelia glanced at Frederick standing next to her, who didn't say a word and had his usual indifferent expression. Seeing this, Amelia didn't refuse and agreed. "Okay."

Amber thought Amelia might not agree, but she didn't expect Amelia to agree so quickly.

After Amber thanked Frederick quietly, she looked at him. His gaze seemed even gloomier than before, which made her feel sad.

Amelia walked toward Frederick's car and opened her hand toward him.

Frederick placed the car keys into her palm.

His actions carried a hint of anger, causing Amelia to look up at him.

The expression on his face clearly showed unhappiness.

Amelia raised an eyebrow.

She opened the car door and got in.

Frederick also went around to the front of the car and took the front passenger seat.

Wendy and Amber exchanged glances before Wendy opened the back door and got in.

Amelia's car was worth over forty thousand dollars, with simple features. On the other hand, Frederick's car was a top-of-the-line luxury car worth over two million dollars, equipped with numerous functions.

She was only used to driving her own car, and her usual routes were only between the hospital and home. She rarely drove on unfamiliar routes.

After getting in the car, Amelia couldn't help but feel a bit nervous. She forced herself to appear calm.

Seeing her nervousness, and how her entire body leaned toward the passenger's side, Frederick adjusted her seat for her affectionately.

Amber and Wendy sat in the back seat. Witnessing this scene, Amber felt quite jealous.

Wendy couldn't help but roll her eyes. She thought Amelia was deliberately acting.

"Ms. Davis, as the heiress of the Davis family, won't everyone make fun of you if you don't know how to drive a luxury car?" Wendy sneered.

Amelia raised an eyebrow and replied calmly, "In the Davis family, we have drivers, so I don't usually drive. Ms. Reed, can you drive? Can you take the wheel?"

Wendy instantly couldn't come up with a response.

Amber pulled Wendy's hand, indicating for her to stop speaking.

"Wendy had some drinks, so she can't drive," Amber explained.

Amelia didn't respond and started the car, moving forward. Since she wasn't familiar with the road conditions, she drove very slowly.

Wendy in the back seat was discontented with her driving.

"Ms. Davis, I must say your driving skills are hard to evaluate," she remarked.

Before she could finish speaking, Frederick, who was sitting in the passenger seat, said, "Get out of the car."

His voice faintly carried anger.

Amelia pulled over the car, glanced at the rearview mirror, and seeing that Wendy and Amber had no intention of getting out, she asked Frederick, "You need to clarify who you want to get out of the car, or else I'll get out as well."

Frederick's expression turned cold as he said, "Wendy."

Wendy turned pale suddenly.

Amber felt a little embarrassed and pleaded softly, "Frederick, here…"

Before she could finish, Frederick's deep and cold voice rang out again.

"You need to get out too."

Amber paused. Wendy took a deep breath and abruptly opened the car door and got out.

"Fine," she said. "It's not like either of you are so great anyway."

Seeing this, Amber had no choice but to follow Wendy and get off too, harboring resentment toward Wendy in her heart.

Amelia smiled, glanced at the window, and remained composed. "Please close the car door."

Amber felt a bit anxious and reluctantly closed the car door.

As soon as she closed the door, Amelia drove away.

Throughout the journey, Wendy murmured softly and intentionally made displeased noises. Although Amelia was dissatisfied, she managed to maintain a good attitude while driving.

Amelia also noticed Frederick's consistently irritated expression.

She didn't expect Wendy to dare to say such things.

Frederick wanted to kick them out of the car, so Amelia naturally complied and parked the car by the side of the road.
