Chapter 231 Striving for Frederick's Forgiveness
After Amelia left Frederick's room, she went straight downstairs.
There was a treatment team meeting at the hospital today.
She had spent a bit more time in Frederick's room, and if she didn't hurry, she would be late.
Kimberly had already arrived at the hospital and had sent her a message earlier, asking when she would arrive.
Amelia stepped out of the elevator, passed through the hotel lobby, and was about to leave when an unfamiliar male voice called out. "Ms. Davis."
Amelia halted and turned her gaze towards the voice, only to find Billy.
Billy was sitting on a sofa in the hotel lobby, smiling at her as he set down his cup.
He stood up slowly and picked up a delicate gift bag that was beside him.
Amelia's expression was a bit complex upon seeing him.
She knew why Patricia had been so warm to her yesterday, but she hadn't expected Billy to act so quickly.
He was already here to give her a gift.
Amelia pursed her lips slightly, trying to figure out how to refuse the gift.
"Mr. Rodriguez," Amelia said softly.
With a gentlemanly smile, Billy calmly extended the gift bag to Amelia and said, "This is the attire you left behind at the estate yesterday. The Rodriguez family's staff has taken care of it, and my mother requested that I deliver it to you."
Amelia paused, her smile a bit awkward, realizing she had misunderstood.
Fortunately, she hadn't said anything inappropriate earlier.
"Thank you, and sorry for the trouble." Amelia reached out and took the gift bag, her smile polite.
Billy chuckled, seemingly seeing through Amelia's thoughts, and said, "Ms. Davis, were you just thinking of an excuse to refuse my gift? It's a good thing I didn't bring a gift today; otherwise, it would have been quite embarrassing if you had turned it down."
Amelia could only manage an awkward smile.
Billy glanced at his watch and asked softly, "I noticed you seemed to be in a hurry. Do you have something urgent to attend to?"
Amelia nodded and checked the time, replying, "I need to go to the hospital. I have an important meeting today. Mr. Rodriguez, let's chat another day."
With that, Amelia turned and left the hotel, not having time to go back to her room to drop off the gift.
Billy watched her hurried departure, raising an eyebrow before following her.
He said to Amelia, "It's rush hour, and finding a cab might be challenging. Allow me to give you a ride."
Billy immediately signaled towards his car, not giving Amelia a chance to refuse.
His assistant quickly brought the car around.
Billy opened the back door for Amelia.
Amelia hesitated for a moment but eventually got into his car as she was in a rush.
As Amelia bent down to get in, Billy reached out to protect her head. After she got in, he followed.
The door closed.
Billy instructed his assistant to head to the Tideport City Hospital.
The assistant promptly started the car and drove away from the hotel.
Frederick came downstairs and saw Billy helping Amelia into the car.
Amelia held a gift bag, indicating she had accepted Billy's present.
Frederick's expression darkened, his face turning cold.
Amelia and Billy had only met for the first time yesterday, and he was already giving her a gift today, which she accepted. Clearly, she had a good impression of Billy from yesterday.
Felix, who was following Frederick, had been yawning but immediately stopped when he saw Amelia getting into Billy's car. He glanced cautiously at Frederick.
This was bad.
Everyone at the Tideport City's branch was in for a tough day.
At the Tideport City Hospital.
Billy parked the car at the hospital entrance.
He got out first and opened the door.
Amelia bent down to get out, quickly thanking him. "Thank you, Mr. Rodriguez. Sorry for the trouble."
Billy smiled and said calmly, "You're welcome. You should hurry in, or you'll be late."
Amelia nodded, waved at Billy, and quickly walked into the hospital.
She was wearing a white shirt and light-colored jeans, her long black hair tied back in a ponytail, making her look youthful and lively.
Billy's eyes followed Amelia as she entered the hospital, his deep brown eyes filled with interest.
Amelia walked quickly into the hospital, almost bumping into Amber.
Amber was holding some medicine, with her knee wrapped in a bandage.
"Excuse me." Amelia's eyes were fixed on the closing elevator doors, barely glancing at Amber.
The elevator wait time proved too long, prompting Amelia to hasten over and squeeze in.
Amber turned to look at Amelia in the elevator.
As the doors were about to close, Amelia noticed it was Amber she had almost bumped into.
Her expression cooled slightly before she quickly looked away.
Amber stared at the closed elevator doors, feeling a surge of resentment and jealousy.
She bit her lip and left the hospital.
Billy's car drove past her, and Amber saw him.
Billy was talking to his assistant and didn't notice her.
Amber bit her lip harder, feeling even more resentful.
Amelia had been divorced and had a child, yet she was still surrounded by quality men.
Amber had met many men over the years, but they were either spoiled brats or sleazy middle-aged men.
She had once dated someone as excellent as Frederick, so how could she settle for anyone less?
Amber clutched her medicine tightly and returned to the hotel.
As soon as she arrived, the hotel receptionist greeted her politely. "Ms. Roberts, today is the fourth day, right?"
Amber was momentarily confused but quickly remembered. She had agreed to help shoot a promotional video for the Tideport City Hotel, and in return, they let her stay in a suite for a day and paid her a fee.
However, Amber had chosen to forgo the fee and stay for three days for free.
The suite at the Tideport City Hotel cost nearly six thousand dollars a night.
Amber had already stayed for three days, and she would have to pay to continue.
"When does Frederick's reservation end?" Amber asked the receptionist.
Frederick hadn't returned to Kasfee yet. If she went back now, he might never want to see her again.
She wanted to use this time to earn his forgiveness.
