Chapter 156 Anna Would Find Amelia Tonight

Amelia glanced at her with indifference and said, "Ms. Roberts, you shouldn't expect me to go to Seaspring Valley City with you. If you want me to go with you, I can apply with the hospital to go with you."

Upon hearing this, Amber's expression changed slightly, her gaze serious as she tried to discern Amelia's true emotions from her expression.

But Amelia's expression remained cold.

Amber couldn't be sure.

Although she was going to Seaspring Valley City, she wasn't going with Frederick all the way.

If Amelia did apply to accompany Frederick, the hospital would agree, and Frederick would agree as well. Then, the lies she had told earlier would be easily exposed.

Suppressing her inner turmoil, Amber spoke softly,

"I hope you can go with us so that if Frederick feels unwell on the way, you can take care of him. However, when I went to Frederick's ward just now, I asked Frederick's opinion. He said you don't understand business matters, so going would be of little help. Therefore, it seems like he isn't very willing to take you along."

Upon hearing this, Amelia looked at Amber with cold eyes.

Amber smiled lightly, glanced at the time, and excused herself to go pack her luggage, then left, saying, "Ms. Davis, goodbye."

Amelia didn't respond and walked past her.

Amber stopped a few steps later and watched Amelia's figure disappear into the hospital lobby. She then looked away, biting her lip in frustration.

After returning to the hospital, Amelia went straight to her office and didn't visit Frederick's ward again until the end of the workday.

When Paul came to pick up Frederick, he met Amelia downstairs and greeted her before going upstairs.

Amelia left directly in her car.

Paul went to Frederick's ward, knocked on the door, and entered.

Seeing Frederick still lying on the bed waiting, he stood at the door and apologized softly,
"Sorry, Mr. Hastings, I'm late."

Frederick glanced at the ward door with a faint expression and said in a deep voice, "Ask Amelia if there are any precautions to take when going to Seaspring Valley City tomorrow."

Paul paused, realizing that Frederick was waiting for Amelia to come and give instructions.

However, Amelia had already left the hospital.

He hesitated for a moment, then said quietly, "Ms. Davis has already left."

Frederick's eyes turned sullen. She should still be at the hospital! Why did she leave?

Every time before, Amelia would come to his ward before leaving work to give him some instructions, but today, didn't she come at all?

He was leaving for Seaspring Valley City tomorrow!

With a cold face, Frederick got up from the bed, took out his phone, and called Amelia.

After a few seconds, Amelia finally answered the call.

Frederick suppressed his anger and asked, "Are you off work?"

Amelia replied softly, "Yes," and added, "Of course, it's the end of the workday, and I have to leave."

Frederick's eyes turned gloomy, and his hand holding the phone tightened.

"I won't be coming to the hospital tomorrow. I'm going to Seaspring Valley City. Did you tell me what precautions to take?"

Amelia hesitated for a moment before Frederick interjected, "Send the precautions to Paul."

Amelia bit her lip, swallowed her words, and replied, "Okay."

Almost as soon as she finished speaking, Frederick hung up the phone.

Amelia looked at her phone and sighed inwardly. As she looked up, her car collided with the vehicle in front of her.

Her gaze subtly shifted. Upon promptly parking the car, she descended to address the situation. However, due to her haste while disembarking, she inadvertently twisted her recently healed foot.

Feeling the sharp pain, Amelia cursed Frederick in her heart, feeling that he always brought her bad luck.

At the hospital, Frederick put away his phone with a cold face, looking displeased.

Paul stood cautiously to the side, worried that Frederick's anger might turn toward him.

Frederick walked out of the ward with a cold expression.

As Paul passed the nurse's station, he happened to overhear the nurse discussing the arrangements for the accompanying doctor's departure. He immediately looked at Frederick walking ahead.

"Mr. Hastings."

Frederick had also heard the nurse's conversation at the station.

"Mr. Hastings, should we hire Ms. Davis to accompany us? Your condition is unstable, and you need a doctor familiar with your medical history."

When Paul called him, he immediately understood Paul's meaning and nodded in agreement to Paul's proposal.

Upon hearing this, Paul went to handle the matter.

After completing the task, he returned to the car.

Frederick was already sitting in the back seat of the car.

His expression was slightly better than before, less gloomy.

Paul breathed a sigh of relief.

About ten minutes after Amelia dealt with the car accident, she arranged for the car to be towed away and hailed a taxi for herself.

Her ankle was throbbing with pain, but she could bear it.

As she got into the taxi, her phone rang.

Glancing at the caller ID, she saw it was a call from the vice president of the hospital, Ralap.

She answered immediately, "Mr. Zepho."

Ralap said with a polite voice, "Ms. Davis, Mr. Hastings is going to Seaspring Valley City tomorrow for business, and his condition is not completely stable yet, so he needs a doctor to accompany him. The hospital has decided to send you. After you return home tonight, pack your luggage properly, and you'll accompany Mr. Hastings to Seaspring Valley City tomorrow."

Amelia frowned slightly upon hearing this. She was about to refuse when Ralap ended the call.

Holding the phone that had just ended the call, her expression was hesitant.

She had intended to call back immediately to decline, but she realized that if she refused now, Frederick would insist on her accompanying him.

So, she decided to reject the assignment and not tell anyone.

She chose not to call Ralap back and headed straight back to the Davis Manor.

The next morning.

Kasfee Airport.

Frederick and Paul set off straight for the airport, yet Amelia remained absent.

Frederick called Amelia several times, but she didn't answer any of them.

Frederick had never experienced Amelia not answering his calls like this before, and a hint of worry flashed in his eyes. He then called Vincent.

Vincent was playing with Anna in the garden downstairs when he received Frederick's call and answered.

After Frederick explained the situation, Vincent's expression turned slightly serious.

"Amelia has been too tired recently and is resting. If you're not in serious condition, don't let Amelia accompany you. Anna will find her mom tonight."
