Chapter 117 Frederick, Don't You Like Red?

The girl standing beside him listened to Frederick's comment and immediately pouted her lips. "What's wrong? The dress looks clearly suits her."

She looked admiringly at Amelia, tugging at Frederick's arm as if acting spoiled.

"Frederick, I also want to try on a red dress."

Earlier upstairs, she had picked out a red dress, but Frederick simply answered that it wasn't good looking.

Now, she noticed that the red dress looked good on Amelia, so she also wanted to try it.

Frederick's face turned serious, and he walked toward the exit of the store. "Whatever you want."

Frederick's companion grumbled discontentedly and hurried to catch up with him.

"Frederick, don't you like red?"

Frederick did not answer her question as they walked further away.

Rachel looked cold, and Amelia completely lost her enthusiasm for trying on dresses. She asked the salesperson to close the curtain and then went back to the dressing room to change out of the dress.

After changing out of the formal dress, Amelia walked out and looked at Rachel, saying softly, "You can pick anything. Anyway, I'll only wear it for the evening of the ball."

Rachel knew that Amelia was not in a good mood now and nodded. "Okay, whatever style you wear, you look good."

Amelia had a well-proportioned figure, so she looked good in any clothes.

After the unpleasant encounter, Amelia and Rachel returned home early.

At night, Rachel pondered that Amelia looked good in that red dress. Moreover, the style matched Anna's dress, so she called the boutique again.

"The dress that Amelia tried on in the afternoon, please alter it to fit and send it over."

After hearing her words, the boutique's staff felt somewhat embarrassed.

"That dress is no longer available in the store, and we cannot design that style anymore. A customer has bought the copyright directly for that dress."

Rachel raised her eyebrows and thought of Frederick's appearance when he left. She smiled and said, "It couldn't be Frederick who bought it, right?"

The brand's staff hesitated for a few seconds and then said softly, "I'm sorry, Ms. Davis, we cannot disclose customer information."

After hearing the tone of the staff, Rachel immediately understood.

She smiled and said, "It's okay. I already know."

After finishing her words, she hung up the phone but couldn't help but criticize Frederick in her heart.

The next day, Amelia went to work at the hospital as usual.

Frederick had already been discharged and no longer needed to come to the hospital for IV drips.

However, when Amelia went to the cafeteria for lunch, Frederick still came to the hospital.

Just as she sat down with a tray, Frederick walked over and sat opposite her, just like before. Amelia suppressed her surprise and quietly ate her meal.

The cafeteria supervisor had already figured out Frederick's schedule during this time, so he prepared his lunch in advance and would bring it over as soon as he arrived.

After serving Frederick his food, the supervisor felt that he shouldn't ignore Amelia, so he tried to please her and said, "Dr. Davis, I added some dishes for you. Just wait a moment, it'll be ready soon."

Upon hearing his words, Amelia wiped the corner of her mouth with a napkin and smiled as she declined, "No thanks, I haven't had much of an appetite lately."

Frederick looked up at her. "If you don't have much of an appetite, then eat something good for digestion. If you eat greasy and spicy food every day, naturally you'll lose your appetite."

During their three years of marriage, Amelia's taste had always been relatively plain, and Frederick thought her taste was the same as his.

Three years ago, after their divorce, Frederick only learned that Amelia had settled for him and had been suppressing her appetite all along.

"Thank you for your concern, Mr. Hastings. Maybe seeing you is what's disrupting my appetite," she said lightly, as if joking.

Frederick's expression immediately darkened.

Amelia got up from her seat and walked away from the cafeteria.

Felix quietly sat beside Frederick, not daring to breathe as he watched his gloomy face.

To appease Amelia, Frederick spent a considerable amount of money to purchase the copyright of a certain brand's dress, making it exclusively for her.

He didn't expect that Amelia would leave before he could even give her this gift.

Remembering Frederick's words about Amelia not coming back, Felix couldn't help but feel like it was karma for Frederick.

Amelia returned to her office and immersed herself in her work. After finishing her shift, she went back to Davis Manor.

Rachel and Sebastian were out at a networking dinner tonight, so they hadn't returned.

Amelia walked to the living room and saw Anna sitting next to Frederick, being very well-behaved.

In Anna's hands, there were freshly peeled oranges, while Frederick sat beside her, also holding an orange and peeling it for Anna.

Amelia was stunned by this scene. Her footsteps uncontrollably paused for a moment.

Frederick saw Amelia's return and put the orange in his hand into the fruit bowl.

"You're back?" he spoke naturally, as if he was the owner of the house.

Amelia nodded slightly, restraining her complex emotions. She glanced at Frederick before putting down her handbag.

Anna got off the couch and ran to Amelia's side. "Mommy."

In her hands, she held an orange. Worried about dirtying Amelia's clothes, she didn't ask for a hug, but just looked up at Amelia with her innocent and adorable expression, which often made people want to give her a kiss.

Amelia reached out and picked her up.

Anna immediately put the orange segments in Amelia's mouth. Susan brought paper towels to clean Anna's fingers.

After swallowing the orange, Anna grinned. "Uncle Frederick's oranges are very sweet."

For some reason, Frederick felt joy after receiving Anna's approval.

Amelia looked at Anna's expression, smiled slightly, and reached out to ruffle Anna's hair, softly saying, "Even if the oranges are sweet, they can't compare to you. You are my little honey pot."

Anna smiled mischievously and, after wiping her fingers clean, tightly hugged Amelia and pressed against her.

Frederick looked at Anna's demeanor and thought about how even Sebastian could hug her for a photo.

When he entered the room just now, Anna was playing with toys with Vincent.

Seeing him come in, Anna immediately raised her hand and pointed to Frederick, saying to Vincent, "Vincent, it's Uncle Frederick."

Vincent's expression was subtle when he saw Frederick, but he still restrained his emotions and greeted Frederick proactively.

Coincidentally, he had gone fishing early today, and since Frederick seemed to have no intention of leaving after coming, Vincent decided to personally cook dinner.

Frederick did not refuse. He really missed Vincent's cooking.

In the three years they were apart, Frederick would occasionally think back to the scenes when he stayed at Davis Manor.

Everything at Davis Manor was the same as three years ago, except for the addition of Anna.

Frederick looked at the adorable Anna and felt melancholy, with a hint of regret.
