Chapter 87 Clearly Unhappy
Amber's face turned pale, and her hand holding the tablecloth trembled slightly. She bit her lip tightly, bowed her head, and looked powerless.
Seeing her dejected appearance, Tina gave a cold smile and stuffed the dismissal notice into her hand.
"Please go to Ascending Company tomorrow morning to collect your personal belongings and settle your wages for this period of time," she said.
Amber held the dismissal notice tightly, her fingertips turning white from exerting too much force. She could only agree. "Okay."
Tina no longer looked at her and said, "The banquet is over, Ms. Roberts. Please leave quickly."
Amber endured the discomfort in her heart and body, and was about to leave when a nearby waiter approached and looked at the tablecloth on her body, asking to take it back.
Seeing the polite manner of the waiter, Amber felt somewhat displeased.
Tina stood in place and watched her, saying, "You seems to have a liking for things that don't belong to her. Since they asked for it back, you should give it to them."
A soft aura of mockery filled the air around her.
Amber's body trembled slightly as she looked up and saw the contemptuous and mocking glances from everyone around her. She clenched her teeth inwardly. It was clear that Tina intended to humiliate her, but at this moment, she could only let others ridicule her without any courage to fight back.
She had been tricked by Amelia and Rachel and had become a laughingstock at Ascending Company. Embarrassed and furious, she abruptly pulled off the tablecloth draped over her and handed it to the waiter before hastily leaving.
Since being with Frederick, she had always maintained her facade of kindness and generosity and had never been so humiliated.
Rachel set a trap for her, while Amelia, like a bystander, watched her make a fool of herself.
She bit her lip tightly. Although she was embarrassed, thankfully, none of these things were her own doing. Her image in Frederick's heart shouldn't be too bad.
Amber hurriedly left the banquet hall. Tina watched her departing figure and made a call to Rachel.
Rachel got into Sebastian's car and answered Tina's call, saying softly, "Let her relax for a few days."
She hadn't yet avenged the online slandering against her.
Sebastian sat beside Rachel and observed the coldness in her eyes with a hint of a smile. He raised an eyebrow and realized that Amber was about to have a terrible time.
Amelia returned to the Davis Manor, and as soon as she entered the living room, she saw Daniel sitting on the couch playing chess with her father.
Vincent was in a good mood and wasn't affected by the things on the internet, regardless of whether they were true or false.
When Amelia came in, Vincent put down his chess piece.
"Welcome back. Have things been taken care of?" he asked.
Amelia took a seat next to him and said, "The Hastings Group released a statement and will hold that entertainment media outlet responsible."
Vincent nodded in satisfaction and said, "That's good, it clarifies things."
Daniel put down his chess piece and looked at Amelia, saying, "Rachel has already arranged everything in Fondaniss for you and Vincent. You can move in directly when you go. Amelia, have you finalized your plans? We'll go together, and there will be someone to take care of us on the way."
Her plans hadn't been completely finalized.
Amelia was still on medication to stabilize her pregnancy.
Upon hearing this, Vincent said, "I have another follow-up appointment in two weeks. After that, we can decide on the specific time."
Amelia had previously experienced signs of threatened miscarriage, and the distance to Fondaniss was far, with a flight taking fifteen hours. Vincent still wanted to wait until Amelia's condition was completely stable before going over to avoid any problems on the way.
Daniel smiled gently and said, "Coincidentally, I also need to deal with some issues regarding the Vanderbilt family during my time here. I will also return to Fondaniss in two weeks.”
While collecting the chess pieces, Vincent said, “Alright, I'll discuss things with Rachel and let you know then."
Daniel's smile remained as he replied, "Alright."
'As long as the Davis family does not cancel the plan to go to Fondaniss,' he thought.
When he saw the video of Frederick forcefully kissing Amelia, he immediately felt a sense of crisis. Because he was aware of Amelia's feelings towards Frederick, he was very worried.
Amelia took out her phone from her bag, sat on the couch, and yawned, feeling a bit tired.
Just then, a message from Frederick came through.
Frederick: [Are you home?]
Amelia looked at his message, didn't reply, and just put her phone away.
Daniel saw that Amelia seemed tired, so he got up from his seat and said, "It's getting late. Amelia, Vincent, you should rest early. I won't take up more of your time."
Upon hearing this, Amelia also stood up from the couch and said, "Let's go, I'll see you out."
Daniel didn't refuse. Amelia put her phone aside and walked with Daniel to the gates of the Davis Manor.
As Daniel got into the car, he took out a gift box from the passenger seat for Amelia.
"My mother asked me to bring this gift box from Fondaniss for you. It seems to be a set of skincare products," he said.
Selah had previously told Amelia about this on the phone.
She reached out to take the gift box from Daniel and said, "Please thank her for me."
Daniel smiled and said, "You're welcome."
The two chatted for a few more moments before Daniel started the car and let Amelia go back inside.
"Rest well," he said.
Amelia nodded and turned to go back into the house.
Just as she entered the gates of the Davis Manor, Frederick's car drove up.
Amelia paused slightly in her footsteps and then closed the gates of the Davis Manor.
Seeing Frederick's car, Daniel also hit the brakes.
Frederick parked the car on the side, slightly displeased. He had already seen Amelia talking with Daniel from afar, so he accelerated to come over.
He opened the car door and stepped out, somewhat annoyed.
Daniel also quickly turned his engine off, opened the door and got out when he saw Frederick walking towards the Davis Manor gate. He then intercepted him.
"Mr. Hastings, it's getting late and Amelia and Vincent need to rest. It's not appropriate for you to disturb them at this time," Daniel said.
Frederick glanced coldly at Daniel and said, "Mr. Vanderbilt, have you become so idle that you feel the need to meddle in everything?"
Daniel's expression slightly changed. Frederick glanced at him indifferently, walked to the Davis Manor gate, entered the password naturally, opened the gate, and walked in.
After entering, he closed the gate immediately.
Daniel stood there in astonishment.
Amelia had just stepped into the house when she saw Frederick walking over from the yard.
She frowned and looked at Susan standing aside, asking, "Hasn't the password been changed yet?"
Susan hesitated for a moment, shook her head, and said, "Not yet."
Amelia sighed, glanced at Frederick who was approaching quickly, and instructed, "Remember to change the password tomorrow."
Susan nodded, cautiously glancing at Frederick not far away.
He had heard Amelia's words and obviously looked displeased.
