Chapter 322 Rachel Pushed Charles Against the Wall

Todd took a deep breath, his stomach in knots. He stiffly moved to help Rachel hold down the struggling Ruth.

Ruth, in too much pain to care about anything else, begged for mercy. "Ms. Davis, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to. I won't do it again."

Rachel, expressionless, tied Ruth with a rope. Ruth trembled with fear.

Todd swallowed, his throat dry. He didn't want to be part of this and didn't want Ruth thrown overboard either. "Rachel, with your status and fortune, you don't need to risk a life over someone like her," he whispered, hoping to sway her.

Rachel nodded slightly, smirking. "Yeah."

Ruth, desperate, thought Rachel might let her go. "Mr. Adams is right, Ms. Davis," she said quickly, her voice choked with fear. "You don't need a lawsuit over someone like me."

Rachel's smirk widened. "It's fine, as long as I don't kill you," she said smoothly, tying the final knot.

Seeing Rachel's smile, Ruth's terror peaked. She struggled so hard that Todd almost couldn't hold her down.

Rachel clicked her tongue impatiently, her eyes cold. "Stop moving," she hissed. "If the rope isn't tight enough and we can't pull you back up, you'll be left to feed the fish."

Ruth's mind went blank. She stared at Rachel, eyes filled with fear and disbelief. She didn't know whether to struggle or stay still, terrified of both.

As Ruth stiffened, Rachel finished tying the rope and kicked her into the sea.

Her movements were swift and without hesitation.

The rope quickly slid off the deck.

When the rope went taut, Rachel glanced at Todd and said calmly, "Pull her up."

Todd hurriedly helped the captain pull the rope, his face filled with panic. He feared if something happened to Ruth, he'd be in big trouble.

Meanwhile, Daniel saw Ruth kicked into the sea and swam toward her.

Ruth could swim, and with Daniel's help, though she swallowed some seawater, she was otherwise fine.

When Ruth was finally pulled up, Daniel climbed back onto the deck. His gaze fell on Ruth, tied and trembling, but he spoke to Rachel.

"Rachel, we've known each other for a while," he said, concerned. "Do you really have to be so ruthless?"

Rachel's expression remained indifferent. "As you said, we've only known each other for a while," she replied coldly.

Daniel's face shifted, unease flickering. He lowered his voice, a hint of warning. "True, Ms. Davis, you are known for being cold and ruthless. If you can suppress your fiancé, let alone..."

Before he could finish, a burning sensation shot through his lips. He instinctively touched his mouth, eyes widening. A cigarette butt lay on the deck, still smoldering.

It had clearly just been discarded, still steaming from its brief encounter with seawater. Shock and then anger flashed across Daniel's face as he looked up at the owner of the cigarette butt.

Charles leaned nonchalantly against the yacht's railing, eyes fixed on Daniel. He smirked, a knowing glint in his eyes. Then, with a casual flick of his wrist, he looked down at his phone, his smirk a silent taunt.

Ian jumped over from his yacht, walked up to him, and whispered in his ear.

Charles nodded slightly, and Ian, catching the signal, walked over to Todd and whispered, "Take me to the control room."

Todd quickly complied.

Charles strolled over to Rachel and stopped beside her. He chuckled, "Investigators are on their way. Let her go for now; there'll be plenty of chances to deal with her later. Isn't it more fun to see a spoiled, lawless lady get arrested?"

Ruth's face turned ashen at Charles's words.

Rachel, wary of Charles, knew that crossing him could mean her future would be in his hands. He was someone to be cautious of.

Hearing about the investigators, the captain quickly stepped forward to untie Ruth.

Daniel helped, and soon the rope was off.

Ruth was so scared her legs gave out, and she couldn't stand.

Daniel had to help her up and took her to the cabin.

Ian had already deleted part of the surveillance footage, keeping only the part where Ruth pushed Amelia into the sea.

Ian walked out of the control room and nodded at Charles, signaling everything was taken care of.

Guided by Ian earlier, Todd was more relaxed. He immediately called his agent to report that someone had poisoned their food. Then he informed the investigators that people on his yacht were showing poisoning symptoms and that he had called for water rescue.

Charles glanced at Daniel and Ruth, then said to Rachel, "Let's go back. There's no more problem here."

Rachel nodded in agreement.

If the media caught her and Charles on this yacht, things could get complicated.

The economic exchange between Kasfee and Yaradia had already caused some dissatisfaction in other regions.

Everyone wanted in, so it was crucial to keep the entertainment media from creating any news about them now.

Charles stepped back onto his yacht and extended his hand to Rachel.

Rachel looked at his hand and placed hers in his.

With a slight pull, Charles easily pulled Rachel over.

But as Rachel stepped over, a wave hit, causing the yacht to sway. She lost her balance and fell toward Charles.

Charles also lost his balance, taking a few steps back while holding Rachel's waist until his back hit the side of the yacht, and he finally steadied himself.

Although Rachel didn't stand firm, she remained calm. To avoid falling completely into Charles's arms, she quickly reached out to support herself against the side of the yacht.

Amelia had already changed her clothes and left the room. Worried about Rachel, she and Frederick came out together.

As they stepped onto the deck, they saw Rachel pushing Charles against the wall, with Charles's hand on Rachel's waist, creating an intense scene.

Amelia was stunned, struggling to process what she was seeing. This wasn't the aloof, distant Rachel she knew. And the smug smirk on Charles’s face only added to the unsettling nature of the scene.

Rachel, her face mere inches from Charles's, could feel his breath against her skin.

Charles smiled, glanced at Amelia and Frederick coming out of the cabin, and reminded Rachel, "Mr. Hastings and your sister are out."

Rachel paused, a hint of panic flashing in her cold eyes, but she quickly regained her composure. She had nothing to be flustered about; there was nothing untoward between her and Charles.

Seeing the change in her expression, Charles's smile deepened. Although reluctant, with Amelia and Frederick watching, he sensibly withdrew his hand.
