Chapter 159 Uncomfortable Stickiness

Frederick entered the suite and took off his coat before heading to the bathroom for a shower.

Having spent two hours on the plane, Frederick constantly felt uncomfortable and sticky.

Paul took this opportunity to organize the luggage brought by Frederick and hung it in the wardrobe.

After finishing his task, Paul left the dressing room and saw the hotel manager standing at the door with a respectful expression on his face.

The manager bowed slightly and greeted Paul proactively.

"Paul, this is lunch prepared for you and Mr. Hastings. Are you and Mr. Hastings ready to dine now?"

Paul nodded. "Bring the meal cart in."

Upon hearing this, the manager immediately brought the cart in. While the waiter arranged the dishes, He approached Paul quietly and inquired,

"Ms. Roberts has left. Do we need to open the back end here at the hotel to facilitate other guests booking rooms?"

Thinking of Amber's persistent determination, Paul hesitated. If there were vacant rooms here, Amber would surely be the first to book and stay. With a sigh, he said, "Not necessary for now. I will check with Mr. Hastings later and then get back to you."

The hotel manager nodded quickly, seeing that the dishes were all set up, and respectfully left.

From the accompanying bag, Paul took out Frederick's medication, placed it on the table, and checked the dosing schedule.

Some of the medications are indicated to be taken before meals.

When Frederick emerged from the bedroom in casual attire, Paul reminded him, "Mr. Hastings, it's time for your medication."

"I know." Frederick glanced at the medications on the table and turned back to the bedroom.

Paul was puzzled.

Frederick went straight to bed, picked up his phone, and opened a chat box on a social platform, but he didn't see any message from Amelia.

Amelia, his attending physician, hadn't even sent a word of comfort.

With a slightly darkened gaze, Frederick exited the chat box and directly dialed Amelia's number.

Amelia had just returned to her office from the clinic's emergency room. When she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket, she took it out and glanced at it.

She hadn't saved Frederick's number, but she remembered this string of digits.

"Do you need something?" She answered the call and placed the phone to her ear in a casual tone.

At that moment, a colleague passing by asked to borrow a book.

Amelia nodded, holding the phone between her head and shoulder as she helped the colleague find the book.

Frederick, hearing her indifferent tone, felt a slight dissatisfaction as he remarked, "Of course, I called you because I have something to discuss."

Amelia didn't respond to Frederick's words, handing the book to the colleague, who thanked her before leaving.

Frederick also heard the commotion on Amelia's end, feeling surprised that she could be distracted while talking to him. A flame of anger ignited within him.

"How should I take the medication you prescribed?"

Amelia paused, furrowing her brows slightly, and said, "You take it orally."

Frederick fell silent.

"I'm asking about the dosage!"

Amelia finally understood. "The dosage is already labeled on the medication box. I've noted the frequency, quantity per dose, and whether it should be taken before or after meals."

Frederick hesitated for a moment. "I didn't see the label."

Outside the suite, based on his years of experience working with Frederick, Paul immediately inferred the content of Frederick and Amelia's conversation.

He swiftly walked over, tore off all the labels from the medication box, and then approached the bedroom door, whispering, "Ms. Davis might have forgotten to label them. There are indeed no labels on the medication box."

Frederick glanced at Paul, a hint of appreciation in his deep blue eyes.

Amelia also heard Paul's words, her expression turning slightly serious.

She had instructed the pharmacy staff to ensure the labels were attached, and they shouldn't have forgotten.

"Give me all the medications later, and I'll label them for you," Amelia said.

"Okay," Frederick responded contentedly.

"What are you doing now?" Before he could continue his inquiry, Amelia had already ended the call.

Upon hearing the sound of the call ending, Frederick furrowed his brows and lowered his phone from his ear. After seeing that Amelia had already hung up, his expression turned sullen.

Observing this, Paul immediately lowered his head and took a few steps toward the living room, not wanting Frederick to sense his presence.

With a slightly darkened gaze, Frederick walked out of the bedroom with a cold expression, approached the table with the medications, and immediately initiated a video call with Amelia.

Amelia placed her phone back in her pocket, left the office, and headed to the cafeteria.

Just as she pocketed her phone, a video call request from Frederick came through.

Glancing at her phone, she casually accepted the call.

Frederick's handsome features appeared on the screen.

As Amelia watched him through the video call, she felt a strange sensation.

It was her first video call with Frederick.

Three years ago, before they were divorced, Frederick would never initiate a video call to her or answer her video requests.

"I didn't expect you to use the video call on social platforms." Amelia smiled lightly, a hint of irony in her eyes.

Indeed, he rarely used video calls. Over the years, apart from Brittany, he had never engaged in video calls with anyone else, excluding work-related video conferences.

As he gazed at Amelia on the screen, a slight tremor ran through Frederick's heart, as if the phone he held now carried Amelia's warmth.

His grip on the phone tightened slightly, noticing Amelia's movements on the screen.

"Where are you headed?" he inquired.

Amelia calmly glanced at the man on her phone, refraining from addressing his query directly.

"Direct your phone camera toward the medications," she instructed.

A hint of displeasure flickered in Frederick's eyes as he obediently adjusted the lens toward the drugs.

He intently scrutinized every gesture Amelia made on the screen.

Amelia, who had been relaxed moments ago, immediately turned serious upon seeing the medications.

After a few seconds of careful observation, she abruptly ended the video call.

Frederick confusedly sent a question mark to Amelia.

Within two minutes, Amelia sent detailed instructions on the dosage and timing for each medication, including whether they should be taken before or after meals.

Even the specifics of the dosages were marked.

Looking at the instructions with a stern expression, Frederick waited for a moment, expecting some words of concern from Amelia.

However, to his surprise, there was no further response in their chat.

His beautiful blue eyes grew increasingly sad, and he threw his phone onto the sofa in frustration.

Exiting his small room, Paul witnessed Frederick's deflated demeanor.

As he took a step forward, Paul immediately retreated, fearing that Frederick's anger, ignited by Amelia, might spill over onto him.
