Chapter 209 As if This Way He Could Become One of Them
After Walter left, Amelia was summoned to the office by the director of the hospital, Lopez.
Lopez generally never bothered her if there was nothing important.
Amelia walked to the door of the director's office full of doubts, stopped, and knocked.
"Come in," said Lopez from inside.
Amelia opened the door and walked in. As she was about to ask Lopez why he had summoned her, she saw Kimberly Harris waving at her on the sofa.
Kimberly said, "Ms. Davis, come over here and sit down."
Amelia nodded lightly and walked over. "Hello, Ms. Harris."
Kimberly held Amelia's hand and sat down beside her, then picked up the files on the desk and handed them to her.
Amelia reached out and took them. They were a stack of medical records and some examination reports.
Kimberly said, "Those are the records of a seven-year-old girl from Tideport City who has a very rare and rare disease. The examination reports were entrusted to me by the patient's family, and I’ve also contacted the hospital in Tideport City. This condition does exist. The hospital in Tideport City plans to set up a treatment team for this rare disease. I have a spot, and I'll bring Paul. Ms. Davis, I would like to ask you to accompany me."
Kimberly had a special appreciation for Amelia since they had met at the commendation ceremony.
She had originally wanted to take her students with her, but they had too little clinical experience.
Amelia was an excellent and responsible doctor. If she brought her along, she might even have some ideas.
There were no boundaries in medicine. At Kimberly's age, she just wanted to pass on what she had learned to those who could carry it forward.
It didn't matter whether they were her students or not.
When Amelia heard Kimberly invite her to go with her, a hint of excitement flashed in her eyes.
Any professor with selfish motives would give an opportunity like this to their students.
However, Kimberly had invited her to go, wanting to give her an opportunity.
Amelia couldn't let down the benevolent professor's good intentions.
Amelia agreed. "Alright, when do we leave?"
Kimberly smiled relievedly when Amelia agreed. "The child's condition is quite urgent, so I plan to go early tomorrow morning. Can you make it?"
"I can," Amelia agreed.
Kimberly nodded, then looked at Lopez and said, "Lopez, I'm taking Ms. Davis away."
Lopez smiled readily. "Alright. Since you asked, I must help you. Just make sure to bring her back safely to me."
Kimberly smiled and chatted with Lopez for a while.
Amelia sat quietly beside them, holding the examination reports and reading.
Lopez knew that Amelia didn't have many patients at the moment, so he spoke up, "Ms. Davis, you should go back and prepare today. You'll leave early tomorrow morning. Don't worry."
Amelia put down the examination reports and stood up from the sofa. "Thank you, Lopez. I'll go back now. Ms. Harris, see you tomorrow."
Kimberly nodded, stood up from the sofa, glanced at Lopez, and smiled. "I need to go back and prepare as well. Ms. Davis, shall we go together?"
Amelia nodded lightly.
Lopez smiled helplessly. "I have just agreed, and now you're slipping away!"
Kimberly and Lopez exchanged a few words while smiling, then left Lopez's office together.
As they walked along, Kimberly couldn't wait to ask Amelia, "Ms. Davis, do you have any ideas after reading the examination reports?"
Amelia pursed her lips, her attitude very humble. "I don't have any ideas for now. I need to see the child in Tideport City before I can make any conclusions."
Kimberly nodded in satisfaction when she saw Amelia's calm demeanor. "Alright. Let's talk about it after we arrive in Tideport City."
Since the child had a rare disease, the hospital in Tideport City must have invited other experts in the country besides herself to visit.
Amelia had a steady character, and Kimberly could rest assured by bringing her along.
After bidding farewell to Kimberly, Amelia left General Hospital.
She returned to her office, took care of some business, and then went back to the Davis Manor.
The Davis Manor.
As soon as Amelia parked her car in the garage, she heard Anna's laughter coming from the yard.
She got out of the car, walked up the steps, and saw Frederick squatting next to Anna.
Anna was playing with a big dog.
Amelia felt that the dog seemed very familiar.
This dog seemed to be the search and rescue dog that helped find Anna yesterday.
"Thunder Fang, sit." Anna pronounced the command not very accurately.
Thunder Fang probably didn't understand. It tilted its head, thought for a moment, and then sat down.
Anna was overjoyed to see it sit down. She walked over to hug its neck, stroked its fur, and praised it. "Good dog."
Amelia couldn't help but smile when she saw that.
She walked over, stopped next to Frederick, and asked, "Why did you bring Thunder Fang here?"
Frederick glanced at her, then quickly looked away, replying, "Thunder Fang was injured during a mission in its early years, so it retired yesterday. Its trainer applied for one last mission for it. I think it has a connection with Anna, so I brought it back and gave it to Anna."
"Thank you." Amelia thanked him softly.
It was clear that Anna really liked the gift Frederick had given her.
Whenever Amelia returned to the Davis Manor, Anna would always be the first to rush up for a hug.
However, Anna and Thunder Fang were so engrossed in playing today that she didn't even notice her return.
"Anna has already thanked me." Frederick looked at Anna as he spoke.
Amelia silently raised an eyebrow slightly.
Anna was happy every time Frederick gave her a gift. It was no wonder she liked him so much.
Anna and Thunder Fang were having a great time playing and rolling around on the lawn.
A faint smile played on Amelia's lips as she walked toward Anna.
Thunder Fang saw Amelia, sat upright on the ground, stuck out its tongue, and looked at Amelia, looking very obedient.
Amelia reached out and rubbed its head.
Anna finally noticed Amelia and said, "Mama." She opened her arms and hugged Amelia's thigh, looking up with a bright smile. "Uncle Frederick gave me this gift. It's Thunder Fang."
Anna's eyes and brows were full of smiles. Her round eyes seemed to be shining.
Amelia squatted down and hugged her, whispering, "From now on, Thunder Fang is a part of our family. Since it just arrived, You can't bully it, okay?"
Anna nodded earnestly and promised seriously, "I won't bully it. It is my good friend."
Amelia smiled gently.
Frederick walked to Amelia's side as if he could become a part of their bond in this way.
